Hofer Kommunikation stages Miss Earth Switzerland

The Bern-based BSW agency Hofer Kommunikation is creating a new campaign concept for the Swiss recycled soil brand RICOTER.

Following the success of the urban guerrilla gardener in 2009, Hofer and Ricoter opted for a well-known testimonial for the first time this year. Miss Earth Switzerland, Graziella Rogers, was recruited as a brand ambassador for the Bern-based soil manufacturer.
Ricoter is a Swiss product. This is deliberately emphasized by using well-known locations throughout the country as the setting for the campaign. The focal point for the 2010 campaign is the world-famous Jet d'Eau in Geneva. The quality aspect is symbolized by the unexpected splendour of plants and flowers at this location and by the slogan "Ricoter: soil for blooming success".
In addition to a national poster display and an advertising campaign focusing on trade and specialty press, Agentir also produced a customer magazine, a price list and a completely new website. This was followed by direct mailings and PR activities.

JWT+H+F: Online campaign developed for Bayer Switzerland Elevit

Elevit Pronatal is a multivitamin preparation for the needs of mother and child during child planning, pregnancy and breastfeeding. In order to strengthen and expand its market leadership, the agency JWT+H+F is conducting an online campaign this spring.

The aim is to draw more attention to the valuable preventative effect of a multivitamin supplement containing folic acid such as Elevit, which, contrary to widespread belief, is already useful when a woman and man have children - and not just when a woman is pregnant, according to a press release from the agency. JWT+H+F developed a concept that makes it possible to deal with this topic in a playful way.
The core of the online campaign is a microsite where women can look into their future as mothers. A question "What will my baby look like?" is answered there. Interested women - and men too, of course - can upload pictures of themselves and their partners. And after just 8 seconds, a photo shows the result, which can be sent by e-card. Online banners draw attention to the topic and lead the target audience to the microsite described above.
The campaign runs from the beginning of March to the beginning of April and is available at http://rubrik.ch.msn.com/reportagen/babymaker.aspx to find.

Seedamm Plaza awarded with Esprix 2010

The Seedamm Plaza Hotel in Pfäffikon SZ has been honored with the Esprix Swiss Excellence Award 2010 .

According to the jury, the Seedamm Plaza Hotel in Pfäffikon has made a name for itself in recent years in terms of its diverse and creative offerings. It justifies the award with the Seedamm Plaza culture, which is specifically developed further as a success driver of the company. This is based on a jointly developed value system, a strong customer orientation and the involvement of all employees. This also includes the consistent path of ongoing improvements in the direction of sustainable business excellence, according to a statement from Esprix.
The President of the Swiss Confederation Doris Leuthard presented the award on Thursday at the Forum for Excellence in the Culture and Convention Center Lucerne KKL. She praised the award winner as proof that sustainability pays off and that today, in addition to efficiency, innovation and marketing, a good working atmosphere and an ethical and sustainable approach to customers and resources are increasingly taking center stage. She was pleased to note that more and more entrepreneurs are realigning their compass accordingly, explained the President of the Swiss Confederation. Those who think and act first will be among the winners, as President Leuthard told the approximately 1,000 representatives of Swiss and Liechtenstein companies at the Forum for Excellence in Lucerne.
The President of the Swiss Confederation also had words of praise for the second Esprix finalist, Raiffeisenbank Mischabel-Matterhorn: "Anyone who makes the dreamlike view of the Matterhorn their mission statement on their homepage is certainly not cultivating an exaggerated bonus culture." The jury nominated the bank in the Mattertal and Saas valleys because it has been systematically focusing on achieving business excellence for years and thus plays a pioneering role within the Raiffeisen Group. The qualification of the employees, pronounced customer orientation and the image of the bank are aspects to which great importance is attached and which are constantly measured and improved.
The Esprix Foundation promotes a consistent focus on sustainable excellence in all aspects of entrepreneurial activity, regardless of industry or company size. The basis for the evaluation of the applicants is the European recognized Model for Excellence of the European Foundation for Quality Management EFQM in Brussels. The moderator Susanne Wille sounded out the four innovative "Swiss made lateral thinkers" Thomas Binggeli (Thömus Veloshop, Niederscherli), Martin Jucker (Jucker Farmart, Seegräben), André Lüthi (Globetrotter Travel Service, Bern) and Martin A. Ziehbrunner (Essemtec, Aesch) outline their paths as successful small entrepreneurs.

Agence Trio collects for CSP against gray clouds of worry

Because people in need are particularly hard hit by the crisis, the Centre social protestant is counting on the solidarity of the community. The new fundraising campaign was once again created by Agence Trio this year.

The affected person and their plight are portrayed with a direct and emotional approach. The words "worries", "debts" and "conflicts" hang like menacing gray clouds over the person crushed by their burden. In response, the flyer plays with the payment slip by asking people to "separate a person from their worries" by tearing off the receipt. The campaign runs throughout the month of March with advertisements in regional daily newspapers, inserts in the press and mailings to potential donors.

Matchcom sends confetti for Hirt Informatik

Just in time for Carnival season, select IT managers at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in German-speaking Switzerland received a 3D mailbox from Hirt Informatik. Match Communications developed the mailing on behalf of Hirt Informatik.

Inside are two bags: one "for clowns" and one "for IT professionals". The first with a colorful confetti mix - symbolic of a server with too many duplicates, the other with only eight, obviously deduplicated, unique confetti pieces. The bag for IT professionals also contained a flyer with a personal voucher for an expert opinion.
The mailing is intended to humorously inform the IT teams of SMEs that only fools do not deduplicate data that has been saved multiple times, the agency said in a statement. Deduplicating data means finding and eliminating data that has been stored multiple times.

Federal Council: No relaxation of advertising regulations for SRG for the time being

On Friday, the Federal Council discussed the possibility of relaxing the advertising regulations for the SRG. However, it will not make a decision on the matter until later.

The plan was to relax the regulations for all broadcasters. Last summer, OFCOM submitted a revision of the Radio and TV Ordinance for consultation, which also provided for a relaxation for SRG. According to the proposal, SRG would have been allowed to increase advertising time from 8% to 15%. Bakom also wanted to allow advertising on the SRG's online offering. The proposal also provided for more interruption advertising.
However, the Federal Council has now excluded the SRG from the revision of the ordinance for the time being. As reported by OFCOM, it only intends to make a definitive decision on relaxing the provisions for the SRG as part of the review of reception fees.
However, the Federal Council has relaxed the framework conditions for the other licensed Swiss radio and television broadcasters. From April 1, they will be allowed to interrupt films and news broadcasts every 30 minutes. According to OFCOM, the provisions have been adapted to the liberal international regulations in order to eliminate a disadvantage for Swiss broadcasters compared to foreign advertising windows. The changes correspond to the proposals made by OFCOM.
As before, commercials may not exceed 12 minutes per hour, and advertising may not take up more than 15 percent of daily broadcasting time. Religious programs and children's programs will still not be interrupted by advertising.
Non-profit licensed radio broadcasters, such as Radio Rabe and Lora, will in future be able to receive fee shares of up to 70 percent of their operating costs. The upper limit is currently 50 percent. Licensed broadcasters pay a levy on their advertising and sponsorship income, which is used to promote technology, among other things. Part of the reception fees is also reserved for this purpose.

Third "World Day against Internet Censorship"

On the occasion of the "World Day against Internet Censorship" on Friday, March 12, Reporters Without Borders (ROG) warns of increasing threats to freedom of expression and information on the Internet.

The Internet is increasingly becoming the venue for the battle for access to free information. A growing number of states are attempting to extend their online controls. At the same time, the group of inventive, supportive internet users who are mobilizing against online surveillance is growing, according to ROG.
On the occasion of the "World Day against Internet Censorship", ROG has published the latest "Enemies of the Internet" report. On the one hand, more and more governments are trying to tighten internet censorship. On the other hand, more and more activists are taking action against political oppression on the Internet. For example, they are trying to demonstrate and mobilize others via social network platforms such as Twitter.
In other countries, companies have better internet connections and access to media, which could have positive consequences for the population. Internet censorship should therefore also be seen as an obstacle to global trade, as the ROG report goes on to say. Web censorship should therefore also be on the agenda of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
According to the report, repressive governments are increasingly resorting to technical aids to gain control of the internet. Internet censorship measures were used in around 60 countries last year. This is twice as many as a year ago. The current list of "enemies of the internet" includes countries such as Burma, China, North Korea, Cuba, Egypt, Syria, Tunisia, Vietnam, Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia. According to ROG, these countries have the most severe disregard for freedom of expression.
Turkey and Russia were downgraded to the "under observation" category for the first time, ROG added in a press release. Although surveillance by the Kremlin is still a cause for concern in Russia, the internet is now the best place for the free exchange of information. Countries such as Australia and South Korea are also listed in the "under observation" category.
