Wemf: 20 Minuten loses readers for the first time - Blick am Abend gains significantly
For the first time, the commuter newspaper 20 Minuten has lost readers instead of gaining them. However, it remains by far the most widely read newspaper in the country. Blick am Abend, on the other hand, made gains, as the Wemf reach study shows. Blick remained ahead of the paid newspapers. While most daily and Sunday titles lost readers, the NZZ and NZZ am Sonntag recorded an increase in readership.
Among the paid newspapers, Blick remained clearly ahead with 613,000 readers. However, it lost 36,000 readers compared to the previous period. The Tages-Anzeiger was read by 481,000 people, 6,000 fewer than in the previous survey. The Mittelland-Zeitung was read by 403,000 people, 18,000 fewer. The Berner Zeitung (including Der Bund) also suffered a drop of 22,000 readers to 373,000. The Neue Zürcher Zeitung had a readership of 313,000, which represents an increase of 7,000. The survey shows a decline of 7,000 to 271,000 for the Neue Luzerner Zeitung. Leader Le Matin lost 11,000 readers in the French-speaking region and still had 235,000 readers. 24 Heures lost 1,000 and had 228,000 readers. The number of readers of Le Temps fell by 2,000 to 146,000, while La Liberté increased by 5,000 to 99,000.

Erosion at SonntagsBlick and SonntagsZeitung
The erosion of SonntagsBlick, the most-read Sunday paper, continued. Its reach fell by 23,000 to 868,000 readers. The SonntagsZeitung even lost 38,000 readers to 797,000, while the NZZ am Sonntag was able to increase its readership by 17,000 to 509,000. The Sonntag reached 371,000 readers, an increase of 1,000. Zentralschweiz am Sonntag will only be included in the next Wemf survey. The readership of Südostschweiz am Sonntag fell slightly by 1,000 to 106,000. In French-speaking Switzerland, Le Matin Dimanche fell by 8,000 to 512,000 readers.

More readers for Bilanz
Among the business newspapers and magazines, Primus Bilanz increased by 5,000 to 215,000 readers. Handelszeitung fell by 7,000 to 140,000 and Finanz und Wirtschaft by 5,000 to 135,000.
The consumer magazine Ktipp increased its readership by 27,000 to 1,029,000 and Schweizer Illustrierte by 15,000 to 932,000. Beobachter rose by 12,000 to 945,000. Schweizer Familie, on the other hand, lost 8,000 readers to 754,000.
Among the political weeklies, Weltwoche lost 14,000 readers to 334,000. On the other hand, Die Wochenzeitung (WoZ) increased its readership by 10,000 to 94,000.
The high-circulation member magazines of the major distributors once again lost reach. The Coop newspaper had 2,653,000 readers - a drop of 17,000. The Migros magazine even lost 32,000 readers to 2,312,000.
92.1 percent of the Swiss population aged 14 and over read at least one newspaper and 91.3 percent a magazine on a more or less regular basis. According to Wemf AG für Werbemedienforschung, these figures have remained surprisingly stable for more than ten years.
