Futurecom/Wunderman: Ford - The countdown is on, the hunt has begun

To mark the 40th anniversary of the RS brand, Futurecom teamed up with Wunderman to develop a microsite for the new Ford Focus RS500.

The abbreviation stands for an automobile that is available in a strictly limited number of units. Only 500 individually numbered Ford Focus RS500 models exist worldwide. In Switzerland, there will be just 50 of them offered for sale by Ford. Ford is making it correspondingly exciting: anyone who wants to own one of the coveted special models must react quickly and register on the microsite created for this purpose.
Since last Saturday, interested parties have only 96 hours in total to become one of the 50 owners by Wednesday, April 14, 2010, exactly 12:00 noon. The right to purchase will be raffled off among all those who have registered by then. More than 470 people have already registered since the launch.
Responsible at Ford Motor Company Switzerland: Georg Kundert (Brand Manager), Daniel Djihic (Head of Marketing). Responsible at Futurecom: Jean-Philippe Persico (consulting and project management), Daniel Schranz (AD), David Schellenberg (graphics), Isabelle Bischoff (screen design), Patrick Bucher (text/concept), Marcel Berberich, Paolo Brocco, Rigobert Mihle, Robert Seidl (all IT).

The company operates in the compression apparel sector. «Wearing Skins naturally boosts your performance»—that’s the campaign’s slogan. This is where /Department’s “Cheat Legal” campaign comes in.
The ads will begin appearing in sports magazines worldwide immediately.

Fairness Commission objects to men's shoe advertisement with bound woman

The advertising had no recognizable reference to the cultural background, the Fairness Commission judged a men's shoe advertisement with the motif of an Asian woman tied up on an oversized men's shoe.

The Fair Trading Commission has upheld a complaint against this advertising message for a men's shoe collection. The cultural background was not recognizable to the average addressee. As the shoe manufacturer argued, bondage is a traditional Japanese art form. The advertising message was intended to express that women are tied up by beautiful men's shoes.
However, the Fairness Commission took a different view. There was no conceptual link between the image, the cultural background and the statement "tied up by beautiful men's shoes". According to its own statements on Wednesday, the Commission came to the conclusion that the shackled woman is perceived solely as an eye-catcher and therefore has no connection to the advertised product.

Last but not least: The Swiss makers

A few weeks ago, a puzzling campaign motif haunted Zurich. White eyes with Swiss crosses on a red background looked out at the viewer. Now 20 Minuten has solved the mystery surrounding the ominous motif.

The picture is the same - black pupils with a white cross on a red background. The motif appears again in the free newspaper 20Minuten. Only this time, the text "Die Schweizer Macher" is emblazoned in the middle. However, those responsible are not a strongly patriotic interest group. They are promoting the musical, which will premiere on September 16 at the Maag Music Hall in Zurich. We would not have expected a musical to be advertised for this subject. Did you?

Part-time jobs for TV presenters soon no longer particularly profitable?

In the future, Swiss television hosts will be required to turn over a portion of their income from side jobs. This is what Federal Councilor Moritz Leuenberger wants.

Leuenberger is expecting a regulation regarding presenters' income payments to SRG, as his spokesperson Dominique Bugnon confirmed to Beobachter.ch. News presenters in particular are hired by companies for PR events that they would otherwise report on as journalists. The question now is whether the presenters derive personal benefit from the market value they build up through their TV presence, the observer continued. After all, the market value of the presenters is added value financed by the license fee. Now the presenters should no longer be allowed to put their additional income in their own pockets.
