Since last year, the energy company Axpo has been drawing attention to its climate-friendly electricity production with a new brand campaign. Axpo has commissioned the Y&R Group to continue the campaign. As in the first campaign, an Axpo employee plays the leading role: In the current spot, we see Thomas Steiner playing soccer with his son Joel. An e-mini that stops at a charging station to refuel attracts the father's attention, whereupon his offspring has no trouble scoring a goal. The commercial will run on TV from mid-April and will be accompanied by advertisements and online measures. > To the spot

Last but not least: Ruckstuhl's unfortunate advertising with children
A lighthearted product guessing game featuring two adorable kids—if that doesn’t boost sales, what will? That’s probably what Ruckstuhl Garagen was thinking when it commissioned its latest TV commercial. Unfortunately, the kids were placed—let’s just say—a bit awkwardly in front of the Ruckstuhl logo.

A building is recreated out of jeans or water glasses. The chimney is now made of spools of thread stacked on top of each other and the revolving door is made of a swinging salad spinner. The agency writes in a press release that there was plenty of choice to recreate. No wonder, with over 80 stores, a cinema, a wellness oasis and much more. According to SDA, in her speech at the general assembly of Presse Suisse, the association of media companies in French-speaking Switzerland, she criticized the "lack of support" for publishers. While copyright law has been strengthened in most European countries, the Federal Council is of the opinion that the current law is completely sufficient. Boagno also spoke out against the standard VAT rate of 6.1 percent proposed by the federal government. Today, newspapers and magazines benefit from a reduced tax rate of 2.4 percent. She emphasized that the press is even exempt from VAT in some countries. Boagno confirmed as President of Presse Suisse She also criticized the federal government's proposal to allow advertising on the SRG website. She also had no sympathy for the increase in fees proposed by the SRG. She accused the federal government of measuring the media with "two different yardsticks". Valérie Boagno was confirmed in her position as President of Presse Suisse at the Annual General Meeting.

SRG Director General Armin Walpen has lifted the publication freeze at the request of the SRG Editors-in-Chief Conference, as the company confirmed a report by Sonntagsblick, according to SDA. SRG and GFS Bern will in future take additional journalistic and methodological measures when conducting surveys on sensitive issues, the company announced on Saturday. In plain language, SRG intends to take special precautions in future. In-depth external and independent investigations have now shown, among other things, "that the discrepancy between the results of the second minaret trend survey and the voting result is very likely due to 'socially desirable' response behavior on the part of some of the respondents". This was the conclusion of an in-depth media-political study conducted by the University of Zurich under the direction of Professor Kurt Imhof, as detailed in the SRG press release. The study also found that the "latent attitude of supporters of the initiative to 'set an example against the classe politique'" could not be correctly captured in the so-called argument test. Furthermore, a systematic media analysis revealed that the reservations and the information that the outcome of the vote was uncertain had not been adequately recorded by the media. Accompanying scientific measures SRG and JRC Bern will now take scientific accompanying measures for future votes with a similar conflict pattern to the anti-minaret initiative. Greater attention will be paid to the "socially desirable" response behavior as well as arguments and the climate of opinion. It is also important to communicate the results in a differentiated manner: "The figures are one thing, their evaluation is another," writes SRG. It is also important to emphasize that trend surveys are not "reliable forecasts", but snapshots. The next federal vote is expected to take place on September 26. This will be about the revision of unemployment insurance, against which a referendum has been held. There are no federal votes in June.
Pegasus Award: Reader's Digest Switzerland honors the most trustworthy brands

The winners were determined in the "European Trusted Brands" study, the largest consumer study in Europe. In Switzerland, respondents named more than 2,000 brands across all product categories. Only consumers whose trust is confirmed remain loyal to a brand, said Werner Neunzig, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of Reader's Digest Switzerland. Consumers also demand that their favorite brands constantly reinvent themselves without losing their identity, and the market rewards companies that make targeted investments in brand management and focus on consumer needs, said Sabine Kölsch, Advertising Director of Reader's Digest Switzerland, commenting on the results of the study. The most effective protective shield for a brand is consumer trust. Numerous representatives from the top echelons of marketing and advertising attended the award ceremony on Thursday evening. In his speech, Filippo Leutenegger, National Councillor and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Medienarena publishing house, shed light on the relationship between trust and image. Voice impersonator Peter Hässig and the Ernie Soller Band framed the award ceremony, which was hosted by journalist and former Miss Switzerland Fiona Hefti. For the tenth time, Reader's Digest magazine has determined which brands are particularly trustworthy in the eyes of consumers in 16 European countries. More than 32,000 readers, including over 1,500 in Switzerland alone, took part in the monthly magazine's survey. The annual "Reader's Digest European Trusted Brands 2010" study is currently the largest Europe-wide consumer survey. "And the Winner is" In the 35 product categories surveyed, from A for cars to Z for toothpaste, classic brands once again came out on top in Switzerland: Canon, Kellogg's, Kuoni, Migros, NeoCitran, Nespresso, NIVEA, Raiffeisen, Ricola, Similasan, Swatch, Swisscom, SwissLife and Charles Vögele. In the current economic and financial crisis, traditional brands have the better cards when it comes to gaining the trust of consumers, according to a press release from the magazine. In contrast to Nokia, NIVEA was able to defend its exceptional position throughout Europe and took first place in the skin care category in all 16 European countries for the sixth time in a row. The Finnish cell phone manufacturer Nokia was unable to keep pace with the previous year, but came first in 14 countries, as did the credit card Visa and the photographic equipment manufacturer Canon. The Swiss food company Nestlé achieved first place in the same category in four countries, namely Poland, Portugal, Romania and Russia.
