APG chooses winner of the first "Poster of the Month"

The winners of the «Poster of the Month» were announced for the first time as part of APG’s newly launched online poster contest.

On Wednesday, APG announced the winners of the newly launched "Poster of the Month" online poster competition for the first time. The three winning subjects were in a real neck-and-neck race: With 18 percent of all votes, Floralp won gold with its "Hedgehog" subject, closely followed by "Insieme" with 16 percent. "Inobat", which was chosen by nine percent of voters, won bronze.
APG's newly designed online competition reflects all poster subjects as a kind of "gallery of the street" - which are currently on display, according to a press release from the outdoor advertising company. Until the end of each month, visitors to the "Poster of the Month" can vote for their three personal favorites via the link Apg.ch/pom.

Promotion tools: On the road for a safe vacation with Western Union

Western Union is relying on promotional tools for its first national mainstream campaign. A roadshow designed to raise awareness about «safety on vacation» will be on display at Zurich HB, Basel, and Lucerne train stations, at the Caliente Festival in Zurich, and in the old town of Lausanne ahead of the summer and fall breaks.

Passport and ID security copies will be made on site, vacation checklists will be handed out and the question "Lost wallet - how can I get cash quickly?" will be answered. You can also take part in a competition at the promotional locations or online at Sbb.ch/wu.
In addition to the roadshow, a national poster and TV campaign is running at the same time. Western Union is tapping into another target group as the main sponsor of the Caliente zone at this year's Zürifäscht, where the roadshow's "Inflate Cube" will also be making a guest appearance.

Press Council reprimands Blick am Abend

Blick am Abend has been rebuffed by the Press Council with the argument that readers do not take the texts of its columnist Helmut-Maria Glogger at face value. After all, according to the Council, even journalistic "snap judgments" must be correct.

Blick am Abend was reprimanded for Glogger's column about the "Magazin" journalist Daniel Binswanger. In it, Glogger had reinterpreted and exaggerated Binswanger's text "Free pass to genocide". Binswanger wrote that anyone who votes against minarets is also voting for torture and giving a free pass to genocide, Glogger's text stated.
However, Binswanger had not written this. He warned against the SVP's idea of allowing the people to vote on initiatives that violate international law in future. Binswanger then complained to the Press Council, which has now proved him right. With the phrase "write, Binswanger!", Glogger had given the impression that Binswanger had actually compared the minaret initiative with torture and genocide, as the Press Council announced on Friday. The Council's reasoning was that even in such an article, not just any "arbitrary, defamatory nonsense" may be disseminated.

Swiss DM Prize 2010: Collaboration with new partners is in place

Instead of relying on one partner as before, the SDV is now combining the core competencies of several experienced companies, as detailed in a press release on Thursday. The "Marketing & Advertising" department will be taken over by Ogilvy One in Zurich and the "Events" department will now be in the hands of Standing Ovation, also in Zurich.
The SDV is looking forward to working with these two specialists. They are convinced that with this choice they have created the best conditions to further increase the quality of the renowned industry event. "We are confident that we will be able to take the Swiss Dialogue Marketing Award a significant step further with our new partners and try out new approaches," says Erik Neumann, member of the SDV Executive Committee.

Cavegnwerbung makes Edi.10 known

Cavegnwerbung created a commercial for the Swiss Edi. Award for Corporate and Advertising Films.

According to the press release, Cavegnwerbung has used the analogy of the big wrestling matches to communicate the Swiss character and at the same time dramatize the annual drama of the duels between the film production companies and directors for this important trophy. Because here, too, the big questions are which director will defeat which competitor, who will make it into the wreaths and become king of the evening.
All advertising material was written and designed in the jargon of the wrestling kings. Because the Edi.10 is also an exciting competition to crown the greats.
