"Schnitz&Schwatz. The healthy television for children"

«Schnitz&Schwatz,» a children's TV show about nutrition and exercise, will air weekly starting in September 2010 on Tele M1, Tele 1, Tele Top, and Tele Ostschweiz as part of a first season consisting of 12 episodes.

Teams of primary school children of the same age compete against each other to win the day in a competition with movement games and quizzes on the topic of nutrition. However, the two teams are not just competing for points, they also cook and eat a dish together.
The focus of the 20-minute programs, which are accompanied by "Suisse Balance" as a partner and supported by 9 cantonal health promotions, among others, is on the one hand the sensory experience with seasonal food from the region, and on the other hand the playful animation for pleasurable physical activity. In each program, the teams also make discoveries at an outdoor location - for example on a farm, in a greenhouse, on a chicken farm, in a bakery or sugar factory.
"Schnitz&Schwatz" aims to sensitize primary school children to a balanced, enjoyable diet without pedagogical finger-wagging, but with lots of fun and adventure, to give them a practical approach to natural foods and to convey the joy of various forms of physical activity. At the same time, the program aims to encourage the conscious use of media at school and at home.
"Schnitz&Schwatz" is a television program from "KATAKULT - Fabrik für Projektkultur". It is hosted by Michel Erismann from Aargau and Andreas Neeser, writer and director of the Aargauer Literaturhaus Lenzburg. Editing and moderation: Lea Guidon, nutrition educator. Producer: Video One, Tello Frutiger, Aarau.

Tourism association calls for better framework conditions for the industry

The Swiss Tourism Federation has called for better framework conditions for the sector, arguing that otherwise the targeted growth in the tourism industry will not be achievable. The conditions it has called for include a favorable VAT rate and sufficient funding for marketing.

This is the only way to implement the growth strategy formulated by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). The fight for a favourable VAT rate will be one of the main political issues in the coming months, said Dominique de Buman, President of the Swiss Tourism Association (STV), at the organization's AGM in Lugano on Friday.
Furthermore, the STV advocates the indefinite continuation of the Federal Act on the Promotion of Innovation and Cooperation in Tourism Innotour from 2012. The STV firmly rejects the financing of Innotour via the financial credit of Switzerland Tourism in the next period - 2012-2015. The association also does not like the federal government's austerity program. The planned measures, such as the cancellation of 160 regional public transport lines, would unnecessarily call into question infrastructure that makes sense for tourism, said de Buman. In his speech, he emphasized the value of the tourism industry for the national economy: tourism is an important element of our national sustainability policy because tourism jobs cannot be outsourced abroad.

Last but not least: Dubious invoices from additional service providers for the iPhone

Complaints about presumably incorrect invoices from Ericsson IPX to iPhone owners are piling up. Deutsche Telekom is now reviewing its business relationships with Ericsson IPX AB, based in Stockholm.

The Stockholm-based provider is one of the companies that offer additional services. Telekom has contracts with these service providers and makes its customer data available. The financial claims are listed separately on Telekom's invoices. However, according to Wuv.de, Alexander von Schmettow, spokesman for Telekom, emphasizes that the agreements on the services must comply with the law.
Telekom now wants to scrutinize Ericsson IPX's business practices. If this is dubious, the contract will be terminated. In an interview with W&V, Ericsson IPX in Düsseldorf pointed out that it is only a service provider for third parties. Accordingly, the company has no insight into the background to the provision of these services, as stated in a letter to Wuv.de. Only the respective service provider can therefore provide information on contentious issues. Cellfish is one of these service providers. However, customers are referred to a 0180 number or a general e-mail address to clarify their claims. According to the service provider, the people who received an invoice downloaded the "Naked scanner for iPhone" function. This activated a subscription. The notice that this is a chargeable service is supposedly now more visible.
This discussion about unclear invoices is not exactly a good reference for Telekom. It would probably be advisable to take a closer look at the external service providers. After all, there is a risk that customers will withdraw from mobile payment services altogether for fear of receiving dubious bills.

Ogilvy: Three Cannes Lions returned

The Frankfurt-based agency Ogilvy has subsequently withdrawn its «Campaign against free music downloads»—which had won three Lions at Cannes—from the competition. This is because the ad materials had not yet been published due to a postponed release date.

The motifs were only placed at the end of June, too late to take part in the competition. However, the festival's press spokesperson, Amanda Benfell, rules out any intentional misconduct on the part of Ogilvy, as Wuv.de wrote on Friday. The agency now wants to submit the motifs again next year.

Press Council accuses photo agency Keystone of lack of transparency

The Swiss Press Council has upheld a complaint by Impressum against the Keystone photo agency. The accusation against the photo agency was insufficient transparency in commercial images. Keystone has since changed its practice.

During the last Ski World Cup race in Wengen, Keystone distributed images of a clearly commercial nature on behalf of paying companies. In the pictures of skiers, there was a conspicuously large
advertising for a milk processor can be seen in the background. Some of the photos were labeled Keystone, Photopress or Keystone Photopress.
Impressum saw this as a mixture of commercial and editorial communication and filed a complaint. According to the SDA, the declaration of the duties and rights of journalists prohibits the following under point 10
the mixing of journalistic activity and commercial advertising.
Keystone has since changed its practice and explicitly labeled the relevant photos as "commercial images". Nevertheless, the Press Council upheld the complaint. It is permissible to publish such photos in the editorial section. However, they must be expressly marked as commercial images. According to the Press Council, only a few journalists are apparently aware that Photopress distributes commercial images on behalf of paying customers. The public had all the less chance of recognizing the commercial background of the photos.

Transitional TV license for Tele Ostschweiz protected

In 2008, the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) awarded the regional TV license to Tele Ostschweiz. However, the Federal Administrative Court then upheld Tele Säntis' appeal last December and demanded that DETEC make a new decision.
As this is not expected before 2011, DETEC decided to award Tele Ostschweiz an interim license. Tele Säntis appealed again to the Federal Administrative Court, which has now rejected the appeal.
According to the judges in Bern, it can be assumed with DETEC that the public interest in maintaining the regional public service is better ensured by awarding the transitional concession to Tele Ostschweiz.
