Last but not least: Sustainable advertising

BTA Video Marketing has proclaimed a new era of sustainable advertising: Companies in Germany can now place their messages on a mobile LED advertising wall and make a contribution to climate protection at the same time.

The battery-powered LED trolley from BTA Video Marketing is now available under the brand sustainable-advertising.green in use throughout Germany. The mobile advertising space measures 4 x 2.40 meters and is powered by a self-sufficient power supply from renewable energy sources. Advertising films or static advertisements can be displayed for more than 12 hours.

At the same time, nachhaltig-werben.green supports regional and national nature conservation projects with one percent of its turnover.

LED-Trailer

The LED trolley from BTA is the first prototype, which is to be followed by an entire fleet. Videos, graphics and live images can be displayed. Anything is conceivable, from on-site advertising at events and mobile use in urban areas to advertisements that are simply "parked" in the target group environment.

A trailer with LED wall revolutionizes the mobile age - back to the future. All that's missing is a loudspeaker for the driver. (uma)

Enormous trust in brands

McCann Worldgroup has presented the global study "Truth about Global Brands". It shows that trust in brands is enormous.

What significance do global brands have in the digital age? How does globalization affect them? The worldwide study "Truth about Global Brands" by McCann Worldgroup provides insights into increasingly complex brand landscapes and delivers the latest answers and strategies. It will be presented in Germany for the first time on February 25, 2016.

"Truth about Global Brands" is the latest and largest study to date by McCann Truth Central, the research unit of McCann Worldgroup. It is based on a survey of 30,000 consumers in 29 markets worldwide. The perception of global brands was examined.

The results of the "Truth about Global Brands" study demonstrate the outstanding importance of brands in today's world and confirm the enormous trust that consumers have in global brands. This was reported by McCann Worldgroup in a press release on Thursday. Exactly 85 percent of all respondents worldwide stated that they believe global brands have the ability to make the world a better place. In Germany, the figure was 67 percent. Exactly 68 percent of respondents in Germany also stated that global brands are more likely to bring about positive change for them than political bodies, for example. This puts Germany in the middle of the field, with only 51% of French respondents stating that they trust global brands to such an extent, compared to 91% of Chinese respondents.

Based on this data, McCann Worldgroup has developed a "Framework of Deep Globality" that serves global companies as a guide to integrated brand management.
One of the highlights of the presentation of the study results and their framework concept will be Peter Wippermann, Professor of Communication Design at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, founder of the Trendbüro and one of Germany's most renowned trend and future researchers, who will address the increasingly polarized world in which people and brands are navigating today in a keynote speech on "Globalization between reality and identity".

"More than eighty percent of the world's population trust global brands to make the world a better place. The main challenge here is to promote a global brand orientation that does not lose sight of local cultures and circumstances. This is the focus of our global study 'Truth about Global Brands', which provides clear strategies," says Suzanne Powers, Global Head of Strategy, McCann Worldgroup.

NZZ Group: News portals with the same layout

The news portals of the Neue Luzerner Zeitung and the St. Galler Tagblatt, as well as the regional editions of both newspapers, have been given a new design. Both the structure and the layout of the 12 websites have been updated.

Following the launch of the Neue Luzerner Zeitung's new website on January 26, 2016, the St. Galler Tagblatt's website is also appearing in a new look today. Both desktop sites have been modernized and adapted to the changing needs of online users. The completely redesigned home pages and department overview pages are particularly striking, as the NZZ writes in a press release. The new main menu is intended to enable more targeted navigation and better reader guidance by moving with the user as they scroll. The new fonts are intended to make the articles easier to read. Modern features such as picture galleries, video sections and editorial live tickers increase the attractiveness of both websites. Advertisers will also benefit from new page-wide advertising formats.

In addition to the online presence of the two flagships, the websites of their regional editions were also updated: zugerzeitung.ch, nidwaldnerzeitung.ch, obwaldnerzeitung.ch, urnerzeitung.ch, bote.ch, thurgauerzeitung.ch, appenzellerzeitung.ch, wilerzeitung.ch, toggenburgertagblatt.ch and wundo.ch.

The redesign of the websites is part of the offensive digital strategy of the NZZ Media Group's regional media. Other planned steps include the relaunch of the mobile websites, a new subscription portal and new e-paper apps for desktops, tablets and smartphones.

Pascal Hollenstein, currently deputy editor-in-chief of the NZZ am Sonntag, is set to take on the newly created position of Head of Journalism for Regional Media at the NZZ Media Group.

At the end of 2014, the NZZ Media Group merged Tagblatt Medien and LZ Medien under uniform management in the Regional Media Division. The aim of the joint organization is to cooperate more in the supra-regional, reader market processing and administrative areas, and to strengthen the independent nature of local and regional reporting. Against this backdrop, Pascal Hollenstein, former domestic editor and deputy editor-in-chief of the NZZ am Sonntag, is to take up his new position as head of journalism for the NZZ regional media this spring. The final decision will be made after consultation with the editorial teams in St. Gallen and Lucerne.

PascalHollenstein_0

In an initial phase, Pascal Hollenstein will focus on managing the national departments and the cooperation projects between the editorial teams in central and eastern Switzerland. The regional newspapers "Thurgauer Zeitung" and "Zuger Zeitung" are given more weight. In the new journalistic management structure, their editors-in-chief David Angst and Harry Ziegler report directly to the Head of Journalism.

Hollenstein was born in 1971 and grew up in Thurgau. He studied history, political science, economic and social history at the University of Zurich. He began his journalistic career as an editor at Radio Thurgau and the Thurgauer Zeitung, later taking on various engagements in corporate publishing and as a historian at an insurance company before moving to the Sonntagszeitung as business editor. In 2002, he was part of the founding team of NZZ am Sonntag, where he was promoted to Head of Department Switzerland and Deputy Editor-in-Chief in 2011.
