JvMatt/Limmat: A sweet story filmed for Wernli

The long-established Swiss company Hug is taking Wernli's Jura Choco Waffles to the next level. Jung von Matt/Limmat has created a new TV commercial for the campaign.

The concept is based on the observation that mothers always keep the biscuits as far out of reach of their children as possible. The film shows two brothers training towards their personal peak from morning to evening: The little one spends the whole day on the shoulders of the big one, so that the two of them tower over their friends and schoolmates by quite a bit. All sorts of things happen in the process, and at the end of the spot they are rewarded with delicious Wernli biscuits, in keeping with the campaign motto "Me het de Wernli eifach gernli". The spot was directed by Jeppe Rønde and is running on TV throughout Switzerland.

Responsible at Hug/Wernli: Andreas Hug, Werner Hug (Executive Board), Bruno Winiger (Head of Marketing & Sales), Mike de Bever (Head of Consumer Marketing), Esther Stalder (Head of Product Management Wernli), Andrina Tschiemer (Junior Product Manager). Masani`s free postcards become interactive

Masani’s Ambient Media’s “Cards For Free” will be fully interactive starting in January 2011. The company has entered into a partnership with Kooaba.

Using the image recognition software Kooaba's Paperboy app, cards can be recommended or kept, and additional content can be discovered. A photo of the front of each card with the app is all it takes to post it on Facebook, for example, to spread it virally via Twitter, to collect it digitally in one's personal online library, to participate in contests, to watch video clips or to order products online. Starting in January 2011, Masani's Ambient Media will include Kooaba's basic services as a standard part of every Cards-For-Free campaign, the company announced Monday.

The mobile service developed by Kooaba (Paperboy App) can be installed on iPhone or Android smartphone. The use is free of charge for users.

The marmot from the Emmi TV campaign is now available for your pocket. Scholz & Friends Zurich is bringing the rodent to the iPhone as an entertainment app.

The marmot "is house-trained, hand-tame, can dance, whistle, do somersaults on command and even enjoy - preferably products from Emmi," according to the agency's description. SFLB: New appearance for Business Sunrise

On Monday, Sunrise launched a national branding campaign for its business customer division, which is now operating under the name «Business Sunrise» and with its own brand. The campaign was developed in collaboration with the advertising agency Spillmann/Felser/Leo Burnett.

The new image and the nationwide image campaign are intended to underscore Sunrise's focus on its business customer segment and position Business Sunrise as a full-service provider. The aim is to show that Sunrise offers individual solutions for business communications for both small businesses and international corporations. In order to substantiate the service promise, the telecommunications company will let customers have their say. At the same time, employees from the business customer area stand up for Business Sunrise in print advertisements with their name and personal mobile number.

The focus of the relaunch is on advertisements in Swiss print media and a new website at Business-sunrise.ch. In order to address the target group personally, roadshows are held in nine Swiss cities.

Last but not least: Heidi has what it takes to be an advertising star

Knut made it. Heidi is on her way there. Whether it's a polar bear or a possum, if animals are this cute, they have a good chance of becoming advertising stars.

In 2006, polar bear Knut caused the number of visitors to Berlin Zoo to skyrocket and made a name for himself. Knut was not only used as a media star, but also as an advertising star. For example, the furniture store Höffner used Knut to advertise its furniture range of the same name with the "Knut tested" seal of quality. Now the ball is in Heidi's court. Her advantage: Heidi is not only cute, but also cross-eyed. A flaw that makes the possum look even cuter and turns it into a real celebrity: 250,000 fans on Facebook, an original song and countless appearances on TV stations.

But that's not all. Advertising experts attest that Heidi has a great future as an advertising star. According to an expert in a Vox report, anything from 0 to 6 figures is possible. Of course, Heidi could also be given a voice. This expert would find it particularly "charming" if Heidi had a lisp. The industry service W&V also asked and heard attributes such as "cute", "likeable", "interesting", "clumsy" and "loyal". Heidi is supposed to advertise navigation devices - after all, she has "a clear view". Ideal as an advertising figure for opticians! Sure, you could imagine a lot of things. But let's be honest: it doesn't take much imagination. You just have to be quick. The squint is probably caused by fat deposits behind the eyes and Heidi is now on a diet.

Radio Basel: Kachelmann presents weather

Jörg Kachelmann returned to presenting weather forecasts on Friday: The former TV weathercaster, who is currently on trial in Germany, presented the weekend weather forecast on the local station Radio Basel.

Urs Knapp, spokesman for Meteomedia, the weather service founded by Kachelmann, confirmed to the news agency SDA that there are plans for further presentations, according to Blick.ch. Kachelmann would not be able to present the weather every day, but it would be possible on Fridays.

Kachelmann has been on trial at Mannheim District Court since September on rape charges. His girlfriend of many years had accused the 52-year-old of threatening and raping her with a knife after an argument in February 2010. Kachelmann denies the crime.

Switzerland 5: New "Arena" to start in August at the latest

The channel Schweiz 5 is planning a rival program to Swiss Television's «Arena.» Possible hosts include Filippo Leutenegger and Roger Köppel.

Peter Heeb, CEO and sole member of the Board of Directors of Schweiz 5, told NZZ am Sonntag that the new "Arena" will start in April at the earliest, but in August at the latest. He is planning a program "with more pizzazz than the boring format of Swiss television", he is quoted as saying in the Sunday publication. Heeb names two preferred candidates for the presenter: Filippo Leutenegger, FDP National Councillor and former "Arena" presenter, and Roger Köppel, publisher and editor-in-chief of Weltwoche.

SVP chief strategist Christoph Blocher dedicated part of his Albisgüetli speech to SRG. He criticized the fact that the "Arena", based on Rudolf Matter's concept, dispensed with "real discussion" and debate. He called for the launch of an "own 'Arena'", with "real duels between distinguished political minds from different parties". This plan is now to be implemented soon with the program on Schweiz 5.

Ruth Metzler founds consulting firm together with Hans Klaus and Daniel Eckmann

Former Federal Councillor Ruth Metzler is back with new professional plans. Together with communications consultant Hans Klaus and Daniel Eckmann, Deputy Director General of SRG SSR, she is founding a consultancy platform based in Appenzell.

According to SDA, Klaus confirmed a corresponding report by NZZ am Sonntag that the focus is on advising executives, management boards and institutions on matters of strategy, leadership and communication.

As already announced, Eckmann will be leaving his position at SRG at the end of February. The consulting firm will then be launched at the end of March.

Last but not least: Bloggers are the better analysts

The analyst with the most accurate forecasts for the computer company Apple Inc. isn't based on Wall Street. No, he's a blogger who writes from home, and when he looks out the window, he sees the Baltic Sea off the coast of Helsinki.

According to Welt.de, the man's name is Horace Dediu, he is a former employee of Nokia Oyj and describes himself as an "entertainer". And he has made the most accurate estimates for Apple in the past four quarters. He was better than analysts from companies such as Morgan Stanley, Citigroup or Deutsche Bank. And even after the presentation of the latest quarterly figures, Dediu is still ahead. This is shown in an overview compiled by another blogger, Daniel Tello.

The supposed disadvantages of bloggers, namely limited resources and less information, are actually an advantage, Dediu is quoted as saying on Welt.de. Those who do not have access to information that is not publicly available have to think in a more concentrated way. Dediu adds that he also evaluates the figures from the company's own reports with a little more attention. Dediu disregards the market share figures used by other analysts. These are too prone to error, he argues. And his success proves him right.
