Euro RSCG: Facebook user reported missing

Euro RSCG Zurich has launched the «Dinner Instead of Chat» campaign for the Commihalle restaurant. The campaign brings Facebook users back to real life.

Every day, more than 2.2 million Swiss log onto Facebook and prefer to chat with each other rather than meet. But can an "XO" replace a real hug? Is a "nudge" as heartfelt as a pat on the back? Or an "LOL" as rousing as a funny laugh? The owners of Commihalle don't think so and are therefore calling for resocialization: with their "Dinner instead of Chat" campaign.

The campaign is designed to bring Facebook users back into real life. And it's aimed at anyone who wants to dine with Facebook friends again instead of having to "hang out" with them in an unheated chat room. What you have to do for it? Simply join the "Dinner instead of Chat" group on Facebook. The reward: anyone who signs up and brings three of their Facebook friends to the Commihalle will get their 3-course meal for free.

In order to draw attention to the social media campaign "outside" as well, missing persons ads of Facebook users who only spend their lives online appear at certain points in downtown Zurich. An appeal is made to real people to bring them back to real life.

The campaign and can be seen now on and offline.

Google helps Egyptian opposition tweet

Google is helping the Egyptian opposition communicate. As the internet giant announced on its company blog on Monday, it will be possible to tweet via phone call.

The message would have to be left as a voicemail at the international numbers +1 650 419 4196 or +39 06 62 207 294 or +97 316 199 855. The messages would then be instantly published on Twitter with the keyword "egypt." They can be received through the same number or heard through Twitter.com/speak2tweet. According to Google, a small group of experts from Twitter, Google and Say Now, a company Google bought last week, were working on the service.

Google further writes in its blog that the company hopes to be able to help the people of Egypt with their communication during this very difficult time. The message was posted on the blog by Ujjwal Singh, the co-founder of Say Now and Google Product Manager for the Middle East and North Africa AbdelKarim Mardini.

Bakom: Information offering of local radio stations investigated

In addition to the SRG programs, the Federal Office of Communications (Bakom) also had eight local radio stations in the cantons of Bern and Ticino scrutinized. According to the program analysis, the stations generally fulfill their license obligations well in terms of news and information programming.

The private Bernese radio stations Capital FM, Radio BE 1 (now Energy Bern), Radio BeO, Radio Neo1, Canal 3 German & French, and the private Ticino radio stations Fiume Ticino and Radio 3iii were analyzed. Their programs were studied for a total of six hours each day during prime time for one week in October 2009.

According to the analysis, Radio BeO devoted the most space to information. During prime time on weekdays, it was 1 hour and 25 minutes. Radio Canal 3 broadcast nine minutes less, while BE1, which has since been merged into Energy Bern, broadcast information for only about 40 minutes. The dominant topics at most of the stations were politics, sports and society. Business and culture were given less space.

The license requires local radio stations to broadcast primarily relevant local-regional information on politics, business, culture, society and sports during prime time. The analysis was prepared by the Publicom consortium, Università della Svizzera italiana, Lugano and the Université de Genève on behalf of Bakom as part of continuous program monitoring.

Draft FCB/Lowe Group congratulates Mini

The Mini has once again taken the top spot in Auto Illustrierte's reader poll. The marketing specialists at Draft FCB/Lowe Group are celebrating this achievement with a congratulatory ad.

For three years, the Mini was in the slipstream of the Fiat 500 in the readers' poll, but now the British car has overtaken the Italian again. The motif shows: The Tifosi who have recently converted to Mini cannot completely do without the Italian attitude to life despite all the fun on the bends. The rear-view mirror caps shine in the Italian national colors instead of the British Union Jack.

Swiss media: Light bulb made to glow

Moritz Leuenberger involuntarily promotes new nuclear power plant

Just under two weeks before the vote in the canton of Bern on a new nuclear power plant in Mühleberg, an advertisement from the proponents is causing a stir. It uses a photo and a quote from former Federal Councillor Moritz Leuenberger (SP) to promote a Yes vote at the ballot box.

"I was not contacted before this advertisement was created; it appeared without my knowledge," writes the former head of the Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) in a statement. The advertisers' approach was incorrect. He did not want to interfere in this cantonal referendum campaign. The former Federal Councillor is quoted in the advertisement with a statement from October 24, 2010. At the time, he said that nuclear energy produced "almost CO2-free electricity", which "should not be underestimated" in terms of climate policy. The quote dates back to his time as an active Federal Councillor and reflects the official position of the entire Federal Council, Leuenberger states. In order to use it for the current vote, the current Energy Minister should therefore have been quoted.

However, the "Yes to Mühleberg" committee is not aware of any mistakes.
Leuenberger is a public figure, said committee spokesperson Adrian Haas when asked by the SDA news agency. In addition, the advertisement states that the quote comes from Leuenberger's time as Federal Councillor. Consent was therefore not necessary. The committee simply wanted to quote the member of the Federal Council who was responsible for the Confederation's energy strategy at the time, says Haas. He also does not consider it problematic that the logo of the SP, which is fighting against the replacement of the nuclear power plant in the canton of Bern, can also be seen on the picture of the advertisement.

The advertisement was created by Burson-Marsteller and was published in the Bund and Bernerzeitung newspapers, as Adrian Haas told Werbewoche. The PR agency is responsible for the committee's entire campaign.

Wunderman launches Sonova's new hearing aid in Florida

The hearing aid manufacturer Sonova wants to market the new hearing aid "Seven" in the USA. Wunderman has developed a campaign for the pilot test in Florida.

With the new hearing aid, the manufacturer is targeting people with a mild hearing loss. The device does not require any software adaptation, which is intended to reduce inhibition thresholds when purchasing the first hearing aid. Wunderman provided strategic and communications support for the project from the outset. The close collaboration of the interdisciplinary project team resulted in a fully integrated dialog marketing campaign, including online ads and DRTV (direct response TV) spots. Based on the basic idea of "Avoid Misunderstandings," the target group learns how to deal with the problem of hearing loss in a relaxed and successful manner.

At the heart of the lead generation measures are the website Sevenhearing.com and numerous call center measures, the push is primarily through DRTV, mailings, online and print. Numerous POS measures round off the package. Wunderman Zurich acted as lead agency, while the network branch in Chicago took care of the local roll-out of the advertising materials created.

The U.S. publishing company Hearst has offered 651 million euros for approximately 100 international magazine titles owned by the French Lagardère Group. Among the titles up for sale are the international editions of the women's magazine Elle, Lagardère announced on Monday.

Company boss Arnaud Lagardère explained the sale with the strong competition from Hearst (Cosmopolitan) or Condé Nast (Vogue, Glamour). However, the French edition of Elle is not for sale. Lagardère had already sold the French regional press. He wants to focus more on the sports business.
