Last but not least: Berlusconi press outraged by Italian Ikea advertising

Ikea has advertised in Italy for the opening of a new Ikea store in Catania, Sicily. The fact that the Swedish furniture store uses a gay couple for the motif is not met with enthusiasm by Berlusconi's newspaper Il Giornale.

The overly innocuous image of a couple of men holding hands, photographed from behind, even reminds the conservative daily Il Giornale of an ideological mission, as the gay news portal Queer.de quotes the daily. The subject adorns the headline "Siamo aperti a tutte le famiglie" - "We are open to all families", which drives the Berlusconi journal to the statement that Ikea operates an ideological mission to create social equality through low prices. Even if the paper did not dare to argue directly against gay rights, it is still claimed that this egalitarianism is a provocation. After such a reaction, one can only wait for the ice cream producer Antonio Federici Gelato Italiano to move its advertising subject - gay Catholic priests - from England to Italy, and wait for the homophobia bang.

Four. makes the number 1 very small

In the current MA Leader 2011 study, the Sonntagszeitung is in a good position with 35.3 percent reach among the leaders and 41 percent reach among the top leaders. To communicate these results, the multichannel creativity agency Four. realized a mailing.

The main component is a personalized USB stick. In the unusual mini format of just 29 mm x 12 mm x 6 mm, this is intended to convey the most important study information about the Sunday newspaper. The mailing is aimed at managers of the advertising clients.

Responsible at the Sunday newspaper: Diego Quintarelli (Publishing Director), Andrea Waltzer (Advertising Director). Responsible at Four. Newsnetz blog "Sweet Home" becomes one

Launched a year ago, "Sweet Home" has established itself as a Swiss interior and style blog that reaches tens of thousands of readers every day. For a year now, stylist and journalist Marianne Kohler has been blogging five or more times a week.

She writes about new products and trends in the interiors sector, reveals tricks and recipes for the kitchen. And in the "Sweet Home Story" series, together with photographer Rita Palanikumar, she reports on how Swiss people furnish their homes. There are already over 400 posts on the blog, which has become a huge source of tips, recipes and interior design suggestions.

"Sweet Home" is available on all Newsnetz titles, i.e. Tagesanzeiger.ch, Bazonline.ch, Bernerzeitung.ch and Derbund.ch. Every day, tens of thousands of users visit the blog, where they discuss and comment on the postings. "Sweet Home" has thus become one of the liveliest and most visited blogs in Switzerland, according to a Newsnetz press release on Tuesday.
Marianne Kohler began her career as a textile designer and worked in Paris and New York before heading the fashion department of Annabelle magazine for several years. She has been a freelance journalist and stylist since 1996 and works for magazines such as Glamour as well as interior design companies in Germany and abroad.

Basel government pays for Swiss Indoors as an advertising platform

The Basel government wants to continue to use Swiss Indoors Basel as an advertising platform. The city canton is to spend a total of almost two million francs on its marketing commitment to the international indoor tennis tournament from 2011 to 2016.

The city-canton advertised itself for the first time at the Swiss Indoors in 2006. This was announced by the government on Tuesday. It is now asking the Grand Council for a loan of CHF 1.944 million for further appearances up to 2016. Basel-Stadt wants to present itself worldwide as an efficient and attractive economic metropolis, a popular place to live and a cultural center. The tennis tournament, with its high international profile, is an ideal platform for this, according to the communiqué. Evaluations have shown that the marketing efforts to date have been extremely successful.

Last but not least: Overcoming income inequality with a ban on advertising

China wants to combat the widening gap between rich and poor. Concrete measures have already been introduced: Billboard advertising for luxury goods is banned in the capital Beijing with immediate effect.

Luxury advertisements and advertisements for "foreign cult" products must be removed by mid-April. According to the newspaper China Daily, words such as "royal", "luxury" or "high-end", which are often used in advertisements for houses, cars or wines, are also banned. Companies that do not comply - and thus torpedo the goal of "overcoming unfair income distribution" - must expect a fine of over 4,000 francs. This is the root of the problem! Let's hope that the Chinese government has a plan B up its sleeve.

Euro RSCG: Does it itch? Then please see a doctor.
