Last but not least: Beautiful advertising lies

Too good to be true: Cosmetics giant L'Oréal has had to pull an advertising campaign for makeup featuring Hollywood star Julia Roberts. The actress looks too beautiful in the posters.

The photos of Julia Roberts' face are too heavily retouched. This is according to the British advertising watchdog. The images of the 43-year-old are therefore misleading. The same also applies to pictures of supermodel Christy Turlington.
The group was denounced by Liberal Democrat MP Jo Swinson. According to the SDA, she had complained to the supervisors. In times of increasing beauty mania and increasing eating disorders among young girls, L'Oreal's advertising gives the impression that make-up can work miracles.
The company, which advertises two different make-ups with Roberts and Turlington, had complained that the advertising showed effects that were actually achievable - even if the posters had been digitally enhanced, which L'Oreal also admitted.

Murdoch's TV group announces billions in profits

Rupert Murdoch's British television and telecommunications division has announced a profit in the billions. This comes amid the scandal involving phone hacking and bribed police officers. Furthermore, Murdoch's son James will remain chairman of the board of directors.

BSkyB posted an operating profit of 1.073 billion pounds (1.4 billion Swiss francs) in the 2010/2011 financial year. This was four percent less than in the previous year, as the company announced according to the SDA.

In addition, Rupert Murdoch's son James was confirmed as head of the BSkyB Board of Directors. There had previously been calls within the company for Murdoch to be replaced. Like his father, he had to testify before a parliamentary committee in London. He is also likely to appear before a judicial committee of inquiry, which will start in September.

Money is lying on the street in the Zurich lowlands

On Friday, the streets in several towns in the Zurich Unterland looked as if it had rained money. Hundreds of what appeared to be 10-franc bills were scattered about. It is still unknown who is responsible for this apparent promotional campaign.

The cantonal police are now investigating whether this is just littering or the distribution of counterfeit money. Stefan Oberlin, media spokesman for the Zurich cantonal police, confirmed a report in the Zürcher Unterländer on Saturday, according to SDA, that the police are investigating the matter. The bills were similar in color to 10-franc notes, Oberlin said: "But only at first glance."

However, you can immediately see that the front does not show a man - the architect Le Corbusier - but an unknown woman in a hat. "You can't even pay in a dimly lit bar with this bill," says Oberlin. The banknotes scattered around Wallisellen, Dietikon, Kloten and Dielsdorf are also larger than 10-franc bills. In addition, the value indication "10" is missing on the left above the top, instead the value is indicated in "10 Bons". And on the edge of the bill is not "Banque nationale Suisse", but the question: "What kind of note is this and who is this?".

There are exceptions to the ban on reproducing banknotes if the counterfeit banknotes are significantly smaller or larger than the originals and if the word "Specimen" is clearly printed on them. This imprint is missing on the Unterländer bills. The distributors must now be prepared to pay fines for littering.

However, it is still unknown who scattered the banknotes in large numbers. It is presumably an advertising campaign. However, nothing specific is noted on the bills themselves.

He was also managing director of the EHC Basel ice hockey club.

News-Corp: Murdoch subsidiary rejects management position

Elisabeth Murdoch, the daughter of controversial media mogul Rupert Murdoch, will not be joining the leadership team of Murdoch's News Corporation.

She believes it is currently inappropriate to run for the Board of Directors of News Corporation. This was announced by the company on Friday in New York. Elisabeth Murdoch runs the television production company Shine Group, which was taken over by News Corp. a few weeks ago at a price of 415 million pounds. According to SDA, the purchase price was too high in the opinion of many analysts.

Murdoch's daughter had been touted as the successor to her 80-year-old father, who heads the board of News Corp. Murdoch himself had brought his daughter into the discussion. According to US media reports, the Murdoch family's power is a thorn in the side of some shareholders. At almost 40 percent, the majority of voting rights at News Corp. are in family hands.

KSB designs construction wall for Hirslanden Clinic with secondary school students

KSB Krieg Schlupp Bürge was commissioned by the Hirslanden Clinic in Zurich to design the retaining wall surrounding the excavation pit for the new «Enzenbühltrakt» building.

Instead of a "gang advertisement," KSB had the idea of having the wooden wall, which is over 30 meters long and two meters high, designed by young people from a nearby schoolhouse. After contacting several schoolhouses and principals, the project was entrusted to the Hofacker schoolhouse in the Hirslanden district. Within three weeks, more than 40 students from the 2nd and 3rd secondary classes worked out proposals on the theme of "Health and the Future" with great enthusiasm. On Tuesday, July 5, 2011 the time had come. In beautiful summer weather, the young people implemented their ideas on the construction pit wall of the Hirslanden Clinic. During more than ten hours, a creative and colorful wall was created on this day, which will now beautify the view of the construction site until spring 2013.

Responsible at Hirslanden: Andrea Heim-Jocham (Head of Marketing and Communication), Gianluca Rossi (Project Manager). Responsible at KSB war Schlupp Bürge: Mareike Jansen (art direction), Harry Zogg (consulting).
