Ammarkt: Communicative fine-tuning for Monstein Processing

The St.Gallen agency Ammarkt has repositioned its client Monstein Processing. The focus is on the perfection maxim of their client from Niederhelfenschwil.

In addition to an updated website, an image brochure and advertisements were designed. These were to be implemented in a playful way and position the customer as the first address for the small difference. The campaign was given visual size by the lead subjects, which were processed using the CGI process, the agency said in a statement. The elaborate 3D image processing turns technical features such as turbines into an almost sensual experience.

Last but not least: Beamed into virtual space

With the emergence of various social media platforms, virtuality is taking up more and more space in real life. But how do you design these platforms in such a way that they simulate the real world as much as possible? Anita Burri knows how...

She makes a personal appearance on her homepage. But not just with personal statements and information, but as a person. "You're probably wondering what she's doing on her website?" she asks during her appearance. Which I'm sure nobody wonders, after all, the World Wide Web has just turned 20 years old. But Anita Buri has even more interesting things to tell. How she was beamed onto the homepage, for example. And as if she had found her new home in the white room of the Anitaburi.ch homepage, she continues to stand still after saying goodbye: "cool that you're here", looks around, scratches her head and smiles, repeating this over and over again.
Even if it doesn't sound like it, the marketing stunt is a success. Because once you have reached the homepage, it is difficult to leave the site again. There is so much to look at: Anita in hippie clothes, Anita with lots and lots of colorful bags, "Frau Buri moderates", LaLa with gauntlets and a spontaneous dance interlude ... but it's best to take a look for yourself: Anitaburi.ch

Aroma moves to Noerd

The Aroma agency has moved into the new Noerd commercial building in Zurich-Oerlikon. Aroma creates spatial identities for its clients in the areas of trade shows, interior design, and events.

The design of the building offers the agency the opportunity to creatively implement its own self-image. The result is a simple, industrially inspired and coherent space that serves as a platform for creativity for the 50 employees and six apprentices, writes Aroma in a statement. The understatement underlines the company's values: "Here, ideas and their realization are in the foreground.

The concept of the "somewhat different commercial building" is also appreciated by other agencies - companies from the Swiss creative industry have rented space around the anchor tenants Aroma and Freitag. Noerd offers a creative and cooperative environment of like-minded people and an exciting tenant mix, says Lukas Meier, founder and owner of Aroma, in the statement. The hub of exchange will be the Noerdkantine, which is surrounded by a rooftop garden on the building's roof and open to both tenants and external visitors.

Aroma realizes projects for Credit Suisse, Fifa, Zurich Airport, Globetrotter, Polo St. Moritz, Swiss, Swisslos, Weltklasse Zurich, Zurich Film Festival, among others.

Half a million US web users say no to online tracking

Only 500,000 Internet users are bothered by the fact that their traces are tracked by advertisers. They use an opt-out function to protect themselves from this.

Privacy should be protected from so-called behavioral targeting. Such protection is implemented via an opt-out function, which was initiated by the industry together with the government last year. According to Adage.com, only a small percentage of the 80 million Internet users who see the privacy protection icon every day have used the function to date. According to the technology service provider Evidon, the figure is around half a million people.

Surprise suffers sales slump

Last year, the street magazine *Surprise* saw a drastic drop in sales. Sales fell by several thousand copies. The magazine's publishers attribute this to stricter guidelines for welfare recipients and asylum seekers.

In spring 2010, around 250 sales staff were still selling around 20,000 Surprise magazines every two weeks. There are now still around 200 sellers, each selling around 15,000 copies. Surprise managing director Paola Gallo said this when asked by the SDA news agency.

Gallo confirmed a report in the Basler Zeitung newspaper on Monday. There are two reasons for the slump, as Gallo explained: several cantons enforced a strict limit on how much social welfare recipients could earn as a supplement. In Zurich, Bern and Baselland in particular, this has meant that many sellers have been unable to sell any or far fewer magazines. Another problem for Surprise is that several cantons - including Zurich and Baselland - are implementing the Foreign Nationals Act more restrictively. "People with pending asylum proceedings are no longer allowed to sell magazines in these cantons," said Gallo, adding that in Zurich, for example, numerous sellers were lost in one fell swoop.

The Surprise makers therefore sought talks with the cantons. They have already been successful in the canton of Baselland, where Surprise now offers an integration program that is paid for by the canton. Participants in the program are trained in sales, receive a German course and work as Surprise salespeople.

Surprise is a biweekly Swiss street magazine produced by journalists and sold by people who are no longer integrated into the labor market. The sellers are allowed to keep CHF 2.70 of the magazine price - CHF 6. The institution also runs its own national street football league and a choir.

Wapico: "Uldry only prints beautiful posters"

The advertising and communications agency Wapico, based in Bern and Fribourg, has been commissioned by the screen printing company Uldry. It was tasked with designing posters for Serigraphie Uldry, which was founded in 1965 by Albin and Noëlle Uldry.

Posters, because Uldry's specialty is poster screen printing. According to a Wapico press release, the Bern-based company has always topped the list of the 100 best Swiss posters for years, and Uldrys has also won prestigious international prizes for poster printing. A single subject was chosen: a "nature morte", well understood in the style of the old masters, but photographed in a modern way. The "old masters" are and remain masterful even today, according to the image statement. The screen and squeegee symbolize screen printing. The fact that Uldry only prints beautiful posters underlines the picture's message with a wink.

Responsible at Serigraphie Uldry: Jacques and Madeleine Uldry. Responsible at Wapico: René Walker (CD), Olaf Pilleri (consultant). Photography: Charlotte Walker, Fribourg.

Washinton Post: Profit slumped significantly

In the second quarter of this year, The Washington Post Company's profits plummeted by 50 percent. The sharp decline in advertising revenue is one reason for the poor results

This was announced by the company according to the Guardian. Advertising revenue from the print section of the Washington Post fell by twelve percent to 66.6 million dollars. Advertising revenues from the digital business, primarily at Washingtonpost.com and the online magazine Slate, fell by 13 percent to 23.4 million dollars.

Farner asks for Klee: Do you want to stay with me?

The first single release "Willst Du bei mir bleiben" by the German band Klee picks up on the themes of love, longing and heartbreak, sounding like a perfect soundtrack to the life of Sims. The Farner agency has picked up on this and launched a new competition.

The Klee video for "Will you stay with me" is shown onDiesims3.com with the Sims faithfully recreated - in black and white and against the romantic backdrop of Paris. This was made possible with "The Sims 3 City Accessories", which was released on July 28 and brought many new hotspots and objects for life in the city into the Sims game. Compared to the original video clip of Klee, the Sims version has a small bug built in. Fans are called upon to track it down. As a reward, each participant will receive a download code for the acoustic version of "Will you stay with me". In addition, ten VIP passes and two backstage passes for a meet & greet with Klee during their current "Aus lauter Liebe" tour will be raffled off among all entries.

"Aus Lauter Liebe" is the fifth studio album by the Cologne-based band Klee.
