Cosi Tscholl Marketing distributes flap mailing for BDP Graubünden

Flyers for the Civic Democratic Party of the Canton of Graubünden were distributed to approximately 95,000 mailboxes throughout the canton of Graubünden. The flyers were left sticking out of the mailboxes so that they would catch the recipients' attention even before the mailboxes were emptied.

The campaign was aimed at all eligible voters throughout the canton with a view to the National Council and Council of States elections. With the tab sticking out of the letterbox, the BDP wanted to be present in the minds of voters shortly before they received their voting documents. The direct marketing campaign was supplemented with PR reports and a poster campaign.

The Graubünden-based advertising agency Cosi Tscholl Marketing was responsible for the concept and creation. The "mailing with outside flap" was distributed by Swiss Post.

Responsible at the BDP Graubünden: Jon Domenic Parolini (President).

SFLB: Congratulations to the Woz

The Woz is celebrating its anniversary this week. And congratulates itself on its 30th birthday in an SFLB campaign.

Since 1981, the Woz she highlights aspects that do not appear in other newspapers and always criticizes injustices and inconsistencies. It is clear that after so much criticism, one no longer has very many friends, according to the agency. The Woz took this as an opportunity to congratulate itself on its birthday for once in the current anniversary edition, i.e. where the congratulatory advertisements are. Not out of self-absorption, but because no one else does it, as you can read further down in the ad: "After three decades of relentlessly critical journalism, you just have to congratulate yourself.

Renzen Communications: Campaign realized for the Hallwyl Castle Opera House

In the summer of 2012, the time has come again - the castle courtyard is transformed into a breathtaking setting for the famous Rossini opera "Il Barbiere di Siviglia". SRF: Audience Council satisfied with "Treffpunkt Bundesplatz

The SRF's tri-media special feature «Treffpunkt Bundesplatz» won over the SRG Deutschschweiz Audience Council. The council was particularly impressed by the diverse range of online interactions.

From September 19 to 30, 2011, the editorial teams of Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (SRF) left their usual studios for twelve days and produced their broadcasts on the elections to the National Council and Council of States from Bern's Bundesplatz. The aim of the large-scale project was to enable the public, politics and the media to meet. In the opinion of the Audience Council, the "Treffpunkt Bundesplatz" project can be considered a complete success. The project had succeeded in making the elections a topic and in offering a comprehensive election service and thus public service in the best sense of the word.

The Audience Council considers it positive that, thanks to the broad distribution on all SRF channels and, in particular, the interactions in the online and social media areas, broad sections of the population were confronted with the elections and were thus able to find a low-threshold and attractive access to the topic.

New standards set

With the trimedial project, SRF made the 2011 elections a tangible experience, the audience council continued. It was particularly positive that the reports on the respective stations and in the corresponding broadcast formats were prepared to suit the target audience and supplemented with entertaining elements. In the opinion of the audience council, the interaction of the various vectors was also pleasing. "Treffpunkt Bundesplatz" had shown that convergence works. The convergence that had already been accomplished on paper had now also become clearly noticeable in everyday life.

Murdoch sons perform poorly in the election to the Board of Directors

The two sons of US media mogul Rupert Murdoch are not well liked by News Corp. shareholders. James and Lachlan Murdoch achieved the worst result of all 15 candidates in the election to the Board of Directors.

James, who as head of the European business is partly responsible for the wiretapping scandal at the now defunct British Sunday newspaper News of the World, fared particularly badly. James Murdoch received 35 percent of votes against at the AGM on Friday. His brother Lachlan Murdoch fared little better, receiving 34 percent of votes against. News Corp. announced the result in a stock exchange release on Monday. Although both will be joining the company's highest board, the strong opposition from shareholders is a slap in the face for the entire Murdoch clan.

The poor performance is all the more painful given that Rupert Murdoch alone, as the founder of the company, holds around 40 percent of the voting rights. Together with the shares of the allied Saudi prince Al-Walid bin Talal, Murdoch even has 47 percent of all votes on his side. At the AGM, shareholders complained that the 80-year-old runs the US media group like a patriarch and demanded that the family's influence be reduced. Although Murdoch holds around 40 percent of the voting rights, he only holds 12 percent of the shares. This is made possible by two different types of shares, of which only the B shares carry voting rights. (SDA)

Pitch win: Prime designs new look for FO Print+Media

The media service provider FO Print+Media in Egg/ZH has commissioned the Zurich-based full-service agency Prime to revamp its brand identity across all six business divisions. This also includes the integration of the former Zürichsee Druckereien in Stäfa.

Following a competitive presentation, FO Print + Media decided to work with Prime. The contract includes the revision of the corporate design of all business areas, in particular the websites and image brochures. According to the press release, the focus is on integrating the former Zürichsee Druckereien into the overall company as FO Zürisee.

According to the agency, the FO Fotorotar division is firmly anchored in the market as a print shop. This is the main reason why the company as a whole is still often perceived as a print shop. Prime's task is to promote and drive forward the image change from print shop to integrated media service provider with suitable measures.

Valora: Profit expectations for 2011 lowered

Kiosk operator Valora is struggling with the continuing decline in press sales and increasing parallel imports. It is lowering its profit expectations (EBIT) for the current financial year from at least CHF 81 million to around CHF 70 million.

The ongoing decline in the press market worsened in the third quarter and led to a sharp drop in sales, Valora wrote in a press release on Monday evening. The current 10 percent decline in press sales can no longer be compensated for in the current financial year.

In addition, the Trade Switzerland division is now having to contend with high parallel imports and a general reluctance to spend due to the current exchange rate situation. This is having a negative impact on sales. By contrast, the Retail division is developing positively. Here, sales increased by more than 2 percent despite a 4 percent contraction in the overall market. (SDA)
