Publicis: Sanitas convinced with dialog and online measures

At the end of 2011, Swiss health insurer Sanitas carried out a multi-stage agency evaluation in which two agencies emerged as the winners. Publicis was chosen for the online and dialog areas.

Publicis has already been called in repeatedly for online measures over the past three years, as Publicis writes in a press release - including for the redesign of the Sanitas website in 2011. The collaboration will now be extended to all digital touchpoints and measures.

The cooperation in dialog marketing started in April 2012, focusing on regular customer communication and the development of a segment-specific approach via the various target groups and products from the Sanitas portfolio.

IAB Switzerland: Positive conclusion at the AGM

IAB Switzerland, the trade association for the Swiss online advertising industry, drew a positive conclusion at its general meeting. Efforts to develop new specialized groups in areas such as networks, social media, video, and creative will continue.

The general meeting of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Switzerland at Au Premier in Zurich's main station was well attended with around 100 guests, according to a statement. The board was granted discharge and confirmed in office. The association looks back on numerous successful events, publications and healthy finances. For example, the annual Digital Marketing Day is now the central industry event. Overall, the activities in the areas of events, standards, training and in the other specialist groups sustainably strengthen the online advertising industry. In addition to the existing seven specialist groups, the Creative and Moving Image specialist groups have been launched. In addition, the board has decided to launch an advisory board in which major advertising clients will be included in order to discuss their needs and wishes in the digital market in more detail.

To further strengthen the board, Alexander Horrolt, Managing Director at Goldbach Audience, and Mirko Marr, Manager Market & Media Research at Publicitas, were newly elected to the IAB Switzerland board. "I am very happy for the trust of the members and for the many voluntary efforts in the Presidency, the Board and the specialist groups. Only in this way can we further strengthen the digital advertising industry and also expand international cooperation," says Ueli Weber, President IAB Switzerland.

International data

Thanks to the integration into the international network of the IAB, numerous studies and data could be made available to the members again this year, according to the report. For example, the Mediascope Survey provides Europe-wide data on media usage, with the data collection in Switzerland financed and methodologically supported by IAB Switzerland. Studies on online advertising spending in Europe, such as the annual AdEx Report, also provide valuable insights for Swiss market participants.

Mobile compendium presented

The new "Mobile Compendium", which will be published regularly by the Mobile Division in the future, was also presented at the General Meeting. It contains all the latest information on the Swiss mobile market and can be ordered immediately from the business office. Starting in 2012, this print product will be published every year and distributed to members and sent to agencies and advertisers. In addition, regularly updated information materials will reflect the rapid growth of the mobile advertising market.

Erdmannpeisker: Campaign created for Bergbahnen Flumserberg

The Erdmannpeisker agency has created a campaign for the Flumserberg mountain railroads. It advertises the opening of the new "Cliimber" climbing tower.

After Erdmannpeisker had already advertised the "Floomzer", the toboggan run on the Flumserberg, the agency was also commissioned to publicize the new leisure attraction. As with the Floomzer, the agency used a little English irritation in the name, as the agency writes in a press release. Just as the flames in the Floomzer logo symbolize the speed of the toboggan, the Cliimber logo uses the logo element of ibex horns to refer to climbing.

An invitation to take part in a competition on Facebook, which is Flumserberg.ch takes place. Here, Flumserberg fans can score points with the funniest Cliimber collage and win climbing fun with ten friends. In the radio spots, a radio presenter frenetically comments on a climbing action that is hard to beat in terms of drama, the punchline of which shows that there is a Cliimber in all of us.

Together with the client, the idea was born to also invite the Bündner Steinböcke to the opening on the Flumserberg in the form of an advertisement. According to the agency, what was intended as a small advertisement with a resolution on the next page of the Sunday newspaper then led to the famous storm in a teacup.

Federal Council spokesperson tweets from the Federal Palace

Federal Council Spokesperson André Simonazzi is now tweeting from the Federal Palace. The government’s official spokesperson will be sharing information from the Federal Council under the handle @BR_Sprecher on the ever-growing microblogging service.

With his first tweet on Wednesday, the Vice-Chancellor announced in French: "My Twitter is open." His aim is to use the additional channel to provide better information about the Federal Council. If possible, he will also seek dialog.Simonazzi sees the Twitter account as an experiment. "I haven't set myself a goal, but want to test whether the exchange with the Twitter community is of any use," Simonazzi told the SDA news agency on Thursday. He is curious to see what the response will be.

Normally, the Vice-Chancellor tweets personally. If it is not him but his team that sends a tweet, a "BK" for Federal Chancellery appears in brackets after the message.

Supplement existing information channels

Twitter is not intended to replace existing information channels such as the homepage, communiqués or Facebook, but rather to explicitly supplement them, said the Valais native. He wants to provide information about "big or very small things" or, for example, link to ongoing events such as a Federal Council press conference. Since the opening tweet, neo-Twitter Simonazzi has reported on an event with the foreign press at the media center in Bern - with a picture. He also thanked the more than 200 followers who have already signed up for his account for their feedback and interest.

With the abbreviation "BR_Sprecher", the Federal Council spokesperson is based not least on his counterpart from Germany: Steffen Seibert (@RegSprecher) has been tweeting alongside Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel since February 2011. His account has almost 64,000 followers. (SDA)

Roger Köppel appeals judgment against NZZ

Roger Köppel, publisher and editor-in-chief of *Die Weltwoche*, continues to fight back against the *Neue Zürcher Zeitung*. He is appealing the Zurich District Court’s ruling to the Higher Regional Court, as he announced in his newspaper on Thursday.

In mid-May, the district court dismissed Weltwoche's lawsuit against the NZZ. In the court's opinion, the latter had rightly raised the question of the background to the sale of Weltwoche to Roger Köppel in 2006 in an article dated February 16, 2010.

In the article "No transparent information world", the author pointed out that the background to the sale of Weltwoche remained "in the dark". This meant that the question of who acted as a "noble benefactor" continued to simmer.

When buying Weltwoche, there were "no hidden guarantees or securities", Köppel emphasized in an open letter to the NZZ published in his newspaper on Thursday. His only security was Weltwoche.

He must "absolutely contest" the ruling because it reverses the burden of proof. It is not he, Köppel, who must prove that he is the owner of Weltwoche, but the NZZ must provide "facts and evidence" for its "credit-damaging allegations". (SDA)

Vizner Borel: Campaign realized for Migrolino

Migrolino launched its own private label in April 2012. Each of the more than 120 fresh and convenience products is assigned its own number.

The Vizner Borel agency, which has been promoting Migrolino since the beginning, has been entrusted with advertising the new product range brand. This also includes the TV spotsin which comedian Kaya Yanar appears as Migrolino salesman Milo. So it is Milo who draws attention to the new Migrolino product line. New platform for local journalism planned

Together with the Swiss School of Journalism Maz, the Investigativ.ch association wants to expand its existing activities. A new platform for local journalism is planned, which will provide knowledge, ideas and research approaches for stories.

The existing platforms Investigative.ch and Publicity law.ch are to come under one roof and be operated by a joint office.
Initial funding for the project has been pledged by the Foundation for Media Diversity, which already supports the Basler Daily News or the Bernese online magazine Journal B co-financed. The Competence Center for Research will be permanently supported by Swiss publishers and other sponsors.

The investigativ.ch association already operates a research information pool that is mainly aimed at journalists working on a national level. Around 100 media professionals have joined the association since it was founded in 2010. The aim is to create a national research network that benefits everyone from local journalists to highly specialized business journalists.

A new office, run by two media professionals, will bundle the activities of the Competence Center for Research. The website Öffentlichkeitsgesetz.ch will also be operated under the umbrella of the office. The association of the same name is committed to the good implementation of Swiss publicity laws and was recognized as the "best quality initiative in Swiss journalism" by the Association for Quality in Journalism in 2011.

Promoting cultural and value change in journalism

Investigativ.ch is developing the new internet platform for local journalism together with Maz. The site is due to go online next year. The Maz has been training local journalists for years and has been organizing the Swiss Forum for Local Journalism since 2011.

According to the concept paper, the project aims to promote a change in culture and values in journalism. It wants to promote journalism that is characterized by independent research. "Strengthening research also strengthens media diversity and the quality of journalism in general," it says.

Webguerillas: Interactive news broadcast for Ricola

The Webguerillas launch an international online campaign for Ricola today. The agency developed the news program "Wotsch eis" for the herbal sugar manufacturer.

Thematically, it is about people giving each other Ricola herbal candies as a sign of friendship, the agency said in a statement. Users can upload their own photos and videos and include a personal message in the message. Ricola then provides them with an individually generated link to "their" news item, which they can forward to friends and acquaintances.

> "Wotsch eis"

In the run-up to the campaign, Ricola had already made its own Facebook fan page to draw attention to the campaign. In the specially developed application "Give away Ricolas" fans are invited to give virtual Ricola candies to friends. The campaign is additionally supported by banner ads in selected online networks and the integration of the YouTube channel.

In addition to the Webguerillas, the agencies Schokolade Filmproduktion and Seed Audio-Visual Communication are involved in the "Wotsch eis" concept.

Cameron considers relationship between politics and media too close

British Prime Minister David Cameron has described the relationship between politics and the media in his country as «too close.» «We must try to put this on a new footing,» Cameron said during a hearing before the Commission of Inquiry into Media Ethics in London.

The current regulatory system is not working, Cameron added on Thursday. He called for "greater transparency, better regulation and a bit more distance". Cameron swore on the Bible before giving a general overview of the relationship between politics and the media in the UK.

The British Prime Minister himself set up the commission to investigate the practices and ethics of the British media in 2011 after the wiretapping practices of the now defunct Murdoch tabloid News of the World triggered a scandal.

At the time, it had come to light that journalists from the now defunct newspaper had not only wiretapped celebrities and bribed police officers, but had also allegedly hacked into the cell phone mailboxes of the relatives of killed soldiers and a kidnapped girl.

Cameron himself is also to be questioned about his relationship with the Murdoch media group. For example, Cameron is a friend of former Murdoch confidante Rebekah Brooks and hired the former editor-in-chief ofNews of the World, Andy Coulson, as his press officer. In January 2011, however, Coulson resigned in connection with the wiretapping scandal. (SDA/AFP)
