Neue Zürcher Zeitung into the media future with Carat

The Neue Zürcher Zeitung is also breaking new ground in the media sector. Carat is now serving as its media agency—backed by the entire Aegis Media Group.

As Christof Kaufmann, CEO of Aegis Media Switzerland, emphasizes in a press release, this is "deliberately about more than just managing countertrades, which is customary in media." "We see ourselves as a sparring partner for all media future issues that also concern a progressive media house in its own right. As a long-time NZZ reader, I am personally delighted to be involved in thinking at the center of quality, so to speak, and to contribute our diverse print and digital know-how. At the same time, I'm fascinated by the international benchmarking in the area of top media products, for which our network has a special flair; for example, with our colleagues in Germany, who look after Die Welt there, among other things."

Markus Will, Head of User Market at NZZ, welcomes this expanded concept of media cooperation: "In addition to the printed Neue Zürcher Zeitung, many readers are increasingly using digital access to our content. Of course, we want to incorporate this change in media usage into our own communications, and especially address the digitally affine and mobile target groups. However, print advertising, with its special communication impact, remains our most important media channel."

SPRI: SEC Lausanne continues training courses

The SPRI Foundation Board has decided to have SEC Lausanne - a section of KV Switzerland - continue to run all SPRI courses in French-speaking Switzerland with immediate effect. Thanks to this partnership, the "SPRI" brand will continue to exist in French-speaking Switzerland.

After the Swiss Public Relations Institute (SPRI) had already concluded a partnership with the KV Bildungsgruppe Schweiz in German-speaking Switzerland in mid-July, a committed partner has now also been found for French-speaking Switzerland in SEC Lausanne (Societé des Employés de Commerce), which offers a wide range of higher vocational training courses. This was announced by the institute in a press release on Wednesday. The courses scheduled for fall 2012 will be continued by SEC Lausanne with immediate effect. Administration will continue to be managed by the SPRI secretariat at the Maison de la Communication (Lausanne). However, this will now report to SEC Lausanne. Daniel Herrera, member of the SPRI Foundation Board and Director ad interim of SPRI Western Switzerland, will oversee the integration process.

Label "SPRI" remains in place

Both the SPRI courses in French-speaking and German-speaking Switzerland are linked to the
quality label "SPRI". The rights to the SPRI brand remain with the Foundation. The
Responsibility for the courses, on the other hand, lies with the established and strong training institutes. With these strong partners, the name SPRI - and thus the value of all previous degrees - will remain a brand of expertise in the PR industry. The partnerships between the HWZ, KV Schweiz, SEC Lausanne and the SPRI Foundation also make it possible to continue the mandate that the SPRI has received from PR Suisse and to guarantee industry-oriented, first-class continuing education for communication professionals in the future, the press release continues.

Jung von Matt/Limmat: A museum for Obermutten

The Obermutten International Museum of Friendship is a home for friendship. It houses the many gifts from 44,000 friends from all over the world.

Just one year ago, the small Graubünden mountain village of Obermutten opened a Facebook page. And promised every fan a place on the village bulletin board (Werbewoche.ch reported). Now Obermutten has more than 44,000 fans around the world.

To date, more than 75 million people have read or heard about the Graubünden mountain village, according to the press release. Tourists from South Korea, New York and Mozambique have paid a visit to the village. "It always makes me very happy when we find someone visiting us because of the Facebook story," says community president Martin Wyss.

But the friends of Obermutten don't just press the Like button. They also keep sending beautiful gifts. Mayor Martin Wyss decided to open a museum especially for the presents. The Obermutten International Museum of Friendship. In short OIMOF. The Oimof gives friendship a home. Since the founding of the Oimof, Obermutten has gained thousands of fans. And received a huge pile of gifts. Sarah Urban from Texas, for example, personally delivered a T-shirt, Catrin Bilger from Hamburg sent a gingerbread heart, and the German TV knowledge magazine Galileo even left a flag that has already been hoisted on an Antarctic expedition.

The village is supported by the tourism organization Graubünden Ferien. "We are pleased that we have been able to show people around the globe how beautiful it is in the Grisons mountains. And of course we are also happy about every tourist who visits Obermutten thanks to this campaign," says Gaudenz Thoma, CEO of Graubünden Ferien.
Not long ago Obermutten had a historic wooden church, an inn and a ski lift. With the Obermutten International Museum of Friendship, the most famous little village in the world has one more attraction.

3+ celebrates farmers and teens

The Swiss private broadcaster 3+ is pleased that its original productions «Farmer, Single, Seeking…» and «Young, Wild & Sexy» seem to be resonating with young audiences.

As the station writes in a statement, 3+ was the market leader among young viewers (German-speaking Switzerland 15-34 years) last Thursday evening with two formats. "Bauer, ledig, sucht..." achieved a market share of 15.5 percent among young people and 11.1 percent among the advertising-relevant target group (ages 15-49). The follow-up "Jung, wild & sexy" also achieved a market share of 15.1 percent among young viewers (advertising-relevant target group: 9.3 percent).

The current season of "Bauer, ledig, sucht..." was ahead of SF1 or SF2 at the same time in eight of the ten episodes broadcast so far, the station writes. With a market share of 4.6 percent in prime time (20:00 - 22:29), September was generally a successful month for 3+. The current interim figures for 15-34 year-olds also show that the market share for the months of January to September increased by 42 percent compared to the same period last year.

Last but not least: Pig fiction

Suva wanted to warn us with its campaign—but it was futile. When a fictional ad suddenly becomes reality, even accident prevention is of no use.

As seen in the Blick print edition on Wednesday:

wildsau-blick

A wild boar on the piste...you've seen that before, haven't you? Exactly, in the Suva Pistensau campaign by Ruf Lanz (Werbewoche.ch reported). Of course, Blick also couldn't avoid the play on words in connection with the ski slope and wild boar ("What a piste sow!"). "But how does the wild boar get up there?" asks the newspaper. Probably by chairlift, as in the advertisement:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGTHf2uhIZo

Blick at least has a hunch as to its origin: "The animal can only have come from Italy". Incidentally, the wildlife biologist interviewed was confident that the animal found its own way back to the valley. (At this point, the pun "lucky you!" could stand). Let's hope that other campaigns don't follow suit and turn into flesh and blood. A wild boar on the slopes is fine - but what will we do if the rapping organic farmers suddenly turn out to be real? (hae)

SFLB: Safety in the workplace is vital

The SFLB agency is launching a new ad for Suva Pro. The goal of the campaign is to reduce the number of workplace accidents.

Under the motto "Vision 250 Lives", Suva has set itself the goal of more than halving the number of serious accidents at work by 2020. To achieve this, the focus of prevention will be placed more specifically on workplaces with high risks. In 2011, a campaign was therefore launched with a dummy that actually suffers serious accidents, as if for demonstration purposes. Following the spot on a construction site, there is now a new spot in an industrial hall. The dummy is also the main character in the new commercial, pointing out the dangers and dramatizing the fact that an accident at work also affects the family. The impressive film will be shown in Switzerland from October.

Responsible at Suva: Daniela Bassi (Head of the Communications and Marketing Department), Urs Schaad (Head of Marketing Communications), Armin Zimmermann (Head of the Occupational Safety Department), Beat Enderlin (SuvaPro communications consultant). Responsible at Spillmann/Felser/Leo Burnett: Peter Brönnimann (ECD); Christian Bircher, Patrick Suter, Reto Vogler, Roland Buob (creation); Michael Gassler, Ivana Giannakis, Simone Ammann (consulting); Erasmo Palomba (agency producer). Film production: Pumpkin Film; Directed by: Martin Werner; Postproduction: Bacon CPH.

The claim of the Audi RS 4 Avant, which is also being promoted through a mailing and advertisements, can be seen in every detail, the agency said in a press release. The message: uncompromisingly sporty - but more than just a sports car thanks to its high suitability for everyday use.
