Last but not least: Star looking for a new home

Euro RSCG is history. Its inventory is being auctioned off on eBay: 3,162 souvenirs will ensure that the name lives on—at least for the lucky buyer—for a long time to come.

We know that the Euro RSCG agency has abandoned its name and is now called Havas (Werbewoche.ch reported). Readers of the Werbewoche print edition also know what is happening with the Euro RSCG Zurich inventory. In the current issue, the agency advertises a Ebay auction in which she sells everything associated with the name "who brought so much good to the world". Among other things, the package includes not only "650 cards (small) with a punched-out star", but also "1 star in front of the entrance". The latter is likely to put off many potential buyers because, objectively speaking, it does not exactly redefine the term "handy" ("goods must be collected"). However, it could be used for a variety of purposes. For example, it could easily be transformed into a Soviet memorial for your own garden, assuming you have basic craftsmanship skills:

This is just an inspiration for those who are undecided. Incidentally, 75 USB sticks (2 GB) are also included. At the current total price, that's around three francs per stick and piece. So the Frenchman who also offers a used 1 GB Euro RSCG stick for 10 Eurocannot keep up.

The price for the set, which consists of 3162 individual parts, is currently 211 francs. 16 bids have been received and the auction will continue until October 4 at 12:50 pm. Take a chance. (hae)

Contexta designs new TV commercials and posters for Appenzeller cheese

An Appenzeller enjoys and remains silent: Even in the new TV commercials for the campaign, Uwe Ochsenknecht fails to uncover the secret of Appenzeller cheese.

Uwe Ochsenknecht wants to find out once again. He has made his way to Appenzellerland, where he is once again trying to find out the secret of Appenzeller cheese from the dairymen. But no matter what he does: The dairymen keep their mouths shut.

The new TV commercials, conceived and implemented by the Contexta agency in collaboration with Stories, continue the campaign for Appenzeller cheese. Various short spots have been created. These will be broadcast on the largest German and Swiss TV stations from October 1, 2012.

In addition to the TV commercials, new poster motifs have also been developed. They are intended to get to the heart of the core message of Appenzeller cheese - the secret of the herbal essence - in a consistent and visually memorable way. Striking portraits of Appenzeller alpine dairymen are shown, making it unmistakably clear that they will never reveal their secret.

150 branches pulling on the same rope

Red Lion has designed a new campaign for Charles Vögele. This was launched with employer branding under the motto: "We bring Switzerland into fashion." In a second step, all Vögele branches in Switzerland were given the opportunity to dress a club of their choice.

A total of 121 clubs were given new outfits by the fashion company, five of which were used as models in the commercials. The television and print campaign will be launched throughout Switzerland on October 1, 2012 and will run until the end of the year. Preparatory work for the campaign began back in July 2012.

In an internal competition, all Charles Vögele branches in Switzerland had the opportunity to give a club of their choice a makeover and submit their design for the national Charles Vögele campaign. The branches were encouraged to take part in a call film with Charles Vögele Group management: Of the 150 Swiss Charles Vögele stores, a total of 121 submitted a suggestion.

The applications ranged from photos and home-made films, for example from the local Samaritan association or hiking club, to moped cliques, a magicians' club, martial arts clubs, crossbowmen, pontoonists, Guggenmusik musicians, theater or traditional costume groups. An internal jury selected a total of five clubs from all the applications - they are now the stars of the new Charles Vögele campaign and have also received a bonus for the club's coffers. The branches that have dressed the winning clubs will be rewarded with an adventure weekend.

The brand campaign

As soon as the five winning branches and their clubs had been selected by a jury of experts, the television and print campaign was launched: the television commercials were filmed at the end of the summer with Charles Vögele employees and show how they advise and dress their club for leisure time or a club event. The films were produced by Manifesto Films, and director Reto Salimbeni succeeded in capturing the local facets and a wide variety of club themes. At the same time as the production, photographer Michael Munique created a series of images for advertisements.

As a special highlight, the stories are accompanied by the Swiss dialect hit of the year - the song "Manhattan" with the line: "Do it with style, or don't - you can certainly do it without it, but with it, life is beautiful." The Charles Vögele advertising campaign can be seen on Swiss television and in Schweizer Illustrierte from October 1.

Responsible at Charles Vögele: Rudolf Scheben (Vice President Marketing). Selina Späni (Marketing Assistant & Fashion PR). Patrizia Vetter (Head of Marketing Coordination). Responsible at Red Lion: Viviana Chiosi, Andrea Zanzerl, Jan Krohn and Sacha Moser (creation). Christian Siegrist, Charlotte Hottinger (consulting). Responsible at Manifesto Films: Reto Salimbeni (Director), Michael Mieke (DOP Film), Michi Graf (Postproduction). Production: Daniela Berther, Shannon Mildon. Sound design/mix: Jingle Jungle.
