Belle Epoque prints at the Oskar Reinhart Museum in Winterthur

Under the title "Couleurs de Paris", the Oskar Reinhart Museum in Winterthur is showing important prints from the Belle Epoque at the end of the 19th century from November 17 to February 10, 2013.

On display are posters, graphic cycles and individual sheets by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Paul Gauguin, Pierre Bonnard, Edouard Vouillard, Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne, Maurice Denis and Jules Chéret, as the museum announced on Wednesday. They include Toulouse-Lautrec's complete series "Elle" and "La grande loge", of which there are only twelve copies in the world. The exhibition, curated by museum director Marc Fehlmann, was created in collaboration with the Kunstmuseum Winterthur, according to the press release.

From 1890, young artists in France began to explore color lithography, a printing technique that until then had been used exclusively for advertising posters. It was regarded as profane and anything but artistically valuable. However, the reputation of artists' prints grew noticeably. They also made it possible for the general public of the Belle Epoque to collect art. (SDA)

Hear the World sets Guinness World Record with awareness campaign

The Swiss Hear the World Foundation has been recognized for the world's largest photo awareness campaign. It educates the public about the importance of hearing and the consequences of hearing loss and supports those affected.

For this mission, numerous stars had themselves photographed by photographer Bryan Adams with their hand behind their ear in the Hear the World pose for conscious hearing. Thanks to this commitment, the Hear the World Foundation has now been recognized by Guinness World Records for the world's largest photo awareness campaign with 53 celebrity supporters. There are now over 60 celebrities who are committed to the good cause. All the portraits were taken by photographer Bryan Adams.

The Hear the World Foundation was established in 2006. The aim: to raise awareness of the previously neglected issues of hearing and hearing loss among the general public and to support people with hearing loss who are in need. A prominent ambassador was recruited for the mission right from the start: The musician Plácido Domingo. This resulted in the first portrait of what is now a worldwide photo awareness campaign. It shows the Spanish opera singer in the Hear the World pose, with his hand behind his ear.

15th Bern Marketing Day: Courage in all its facets

Under the motto «no risk, no fun,» some 500 entrepreneurs attended the Bern Marketing Day to learn why success requires bold decisions. Speakers included Federal Councilor Ueli Maurer, TV personality Kurt Schaad, and top hotelier Carsten K. Rath.

"If you want to build a ship, don't drum up men to procure wood, assign tasks and divide up the work, but teach them to yearn for the vast, endless sea." With this quote from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer introduced his speech on Switzerland's candidacy for the 2012 Winter Olympics. In conversation with presenter Andrea Jansen, he expressed optimism that the majority of the Grisons electorate would vote in favor of an Olympic bid in the upcoming referendum next March. It remains to be seen whether the people of Graubünden will actually follow the sports minister's gut feeling. However, mind reader Gabriel Palacios argued in his presentation, which he supplemented with impressive show elements, that people should rely on their intuition. In the final part of the morning, TV professional and co-founder of the social TV channel Joiz, Publisuisse Director Martin Schneider and Tobias Asch, co-owner of Bureau G9 and Filmwords, spoke about the future of television. Kurt Schaad sees the digital revolution in full swing. Martin Schneider emphasized that even in the digital development, relevant content is still successful and therefore a priority. Tobias Asch pointed out that viewers are increasingly demanding relevant content "on demand" and without commercial breaks, which is why TV advertising needs to evolve.

Five seconds with Bill Clinton

René Strickler has been living with predators for over 30 years. At the Bern Marketing Day, he explained why he cannot afford to be afraid when dealing with the animals: they sense every emotion. If he were afraid, he would be attacked immediately. Carsten K. Rath took the visitors into the world of the grand hotel industry and told them how five seconds with Bill Clinton changed his life. When the former US President thanked Rath personally after his visit to Rath's former Hotel Adlon in Berlin, he said, he realized why he was committed to unconditional service excellence. Since then, he and all his employees at the Kameha Group have worked according to the five-second rule. He reminded everyone present to think carefully about what this would bring the customer at every meeting and every decision, while never losing sight of the personal touch. "Because professionalism without cordiality is arrogance," said Rath. Transport company Daniel Schöni also demonstrated a great deal of cordiality and, above all, passion. He reported on war-like conditions in the transport industry, tire and fuel theft, price collapse and wage pressure. Nevertheless, Schöni said that he would continue to fight, "now more than ever". The traditional Bernese panel discussion with boxing world champion Aniya Seki, media artist Chantal Michel, Swiss Venture Club President Hans-Ulrich Müller and Daniel Borer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Skywork Airlines, concluded the thematically diverse day. They all demonstrated how multifaceted the topic of courage is - whether in the ring, in a performance or in everyday business life.

Werbewoche.ch would like to thank all participants in the ticket prize draw for their interest. We hope the two winners had an inspiring and exciting day.

BPRA Commits to Transparency in Lobbying

In a position paper, the Federation of Swiss Public Relations Agencies (BPRA) expresses its commitment to transparency in lobbying and advocates for official accreditation of lobbyists, including disclosure of the clients they represent in their lobbying activities.

BPRA is committed to the transparent and professional representation of the interests of companies, associations and NPOs, as detailed in a press release. At their general meeting, the agencies unanimously adopted a position paper that makes a clear commitment to transparency in lobbying: In it, the BPRA advocates official accreditation for lobbyists, a publicly accessible lobbyist register and the disclosure of mandates represented in lobbying.

"Lobbying support from communications agencies is increasingly in demand from companies and associations in Switzerland," says Roman Geiser, President of the BPRA and CEO of Farner Consulting. "At the same time, there is a noticeable trend towards standardization and professionalization of lobbying services. This also means that the communications industry is facing up to the ethical and political issues surrounding its own role and transparency.

"It is also time to recognize professional political representation of interests as a reality in Switzerland," says Andreas Hugi, Managing Partner of Furrer Hugi & Partner and Head of the Public Affairs Chapter of the BPRA. "This in no way diminishes the position and reputation of the political system. On the contrary, if it is transparent and open, it makes an important contribution to political debate and opinion-forming".

The BPRA position on lobby transparency in detail

The BPRA position paper on lobby transparency focuses on transparency measures in the political representation of interests by external consultants at federal level. In detail, the association advocates the following regulations:

1. the BPRA is committed to the transparent and professional representation of the interests of companies, associations and NPOs, whether by these organizations themselves or with the support of agencies.

2 The BPRA is in favor of accreditation for lobbyists being managed by the Parliamentary Services or the Federal Chancellery. This should be made public in a transparency or lobby register.

3 Stakeholders will receive accreditation and thus an access pass to the Wandelhalle if they fulfill the following conditions:

a. Entry in a public register on the basis of self-declaration

b. Signing a code of conduct

c. Disclosure of those public affairs mandates of the employer (agency) on whose behalf access to parliament is required

d. Disclosure of the employer for public affairs employees of companies, associations and NPOs
