Bosch household appliances and WWF Switzerland cooperate "for more efficiency in the household"

WWF Switzerland and Bosch Home Appliances Switzerland share a common goal: to promote the use of energy-efficient appliances in Switzerland. Starting in 2013, 28 Bosch home appliances will therefore be promoted in partnership with the WWF.

For every appliance sold, 50 Swiss francs will go to the WWF. WWF and Bosch are already working together in other countries. A collaboration that is now being intensified in Switzerland - with the aim of increasing the proportion of energy-efficient household appliances in total sales, according to a statement from the two companies. Bosch aims to increase this share to 75 percent by 2015. In addition, every appliance sold will support WWF projects in Switzerland, such as the renaturation of local rivers.

With this collaboration, WWF Switzerland and Bosch want to express their shared conviction that reducing electricity consumption in the home is an important contribution by each individual to making the energy transition desired by the Swiss electorate a reality. In future, the best Bosch appliances recognized by Topten.ch as particularly energy-efficient will be advertised with the WWF. The 28 appliances recommended by WWF Switzerland in 2013 are part of Bosch's "Green Technology inside" program. This stands for sustainability, efficiency and transparency, particularly in the use of resources and energy, according to the press release.
Products that have exceptionally low consumption values for energy, water or other natural resources thanks to particularly pioneering technologies at full performance are marked with the "Green Technology inside" label.

Last but not least: Chased by mannequins

Mannequins are meant to showcase the latest collections of a given clothing store; they aren't supposed to talk. And above all, they aren't supposed to watch the customers. But that might be about to change...

The mannequin manufacturer Almax and the technology provider Kee Square have developed mannequins that can provide retailers with information about the people passing by. Goldbach Group writes this in its monthly trend report. Cameras have been integrated into the pupils of the "EyeSee Mannequins" to record information about people passing by. These record the images of passers-by and transmit them to facial recognition software.
Instead of "How can I help you?", the customer in the clothes store will probably be addressed with: "I have the perfect dress for your face". (uma)
