Annual report from Crafft: Content instead of image

Crafft has redesigned and realized Valiant Bank's annual report on- and offline. The printed magazine and the online version rely on 18 journalistically prepared stories from the region.

The magazine for the fiscal year emotionally expresses Valiant's regional roots, according to a statement by the agency on Tuesday. Based on the new campaign "We are simply bank", the reader embarks on a journey to the simply good of the region.

An editorial picture series combined with journalistic texts forms the core of the magazine. The content is rounded off with the most important facts and figures on the financial year.

As a complement, Crafft implemented a new online annual report. At Valiant-gb.ch interested parties will find the most important contents from the report and magazine summarized and attractively presented in visual form.

The digital trends of tomorrow

Participants in an international panel discussion at the Swiss Online Marketing trade show will share insights into the most exciting developments.

What trends will determine digital marketing and e-business in the future? What should advertisers be prepared for? Visitors to the Swiss Online Marketing trade fair on April 9 and 10 at Messe Zürich will receive answers to these questions. In a press release issued on Tuesday, the participants in a panel discussion (which will take place on the second day of the trade fair) describe the most exciting developments in their markets of India, Turkey, Sweden, the Netherlands, the UK and Switzerland - and take a look into the crystal ball.

E-commerce boom in India

Online shopping and marketing via social networks is booming in India, reports Aswin Kandasamy, social media expert at the software company Enqos in Chennai, India. "People in India have discovered e-commerce for themselves and taken it to a whole new level. All the top brands are jumping on this trend." There are also some successful start-ups whose marketing is completely based on the online channel and social media, says Kandasamy. His forecast for the near future: "In a few years, people will spend as much time shopping online as they do on social networks today. In-store shopping will decrease dramatically."

Data in marketing from the perspective of a Quizduell maker

"Although people now spend more time online with their mobile devices than with desktop computers, mobile advertising has not yet found its place in the advertising ecosystem," explains Swedish entrepreneur and online marketer Anders Willstedt. One of his topics at #SOM14 will be the question of what needs to be done to reach the ever-increasing number of users with mobile advertising, says Willstedt, who co-developed the Quizduell app together with his brothers and some friends. In his view, data and knowledge about users will play such an important role in digital marketing in five years' time that media or agencies that are financed by revenue from online advertising and have not adapted to these new realities will disappear from the market.

Performance marketing grows in Turkey

"For us, the performance marketing mentality is currently growing quite aggressively," reports Yunus Güvenen, founder and managing partner of Istanbul-based Digitouch Performance Media Group. "We are seeing industries that were previously active in branding now in lead tracking and analyzing online ROI - these are exciting times," says Güvenen, whose companies currently include Turkey's leading affiliate network, an RTB/audience network and a digital media agency. "I firmly believe that digital CRM, business intelligence and advertising will merge," is his outlook for the future. "We are already seeing the beginnings of this in retargeting, but the possibilities and scope go far beyond that."

Multi-touch attribution will prevail

Lara Kelly, Atlas Head of International Sales at Facebook, is also concerned with the measurability of online advertising campaigns. She predicts far-reaching changes in conversion attribution. "The current model is 'last click wins', i.e. the purchase decision is attributed to the last banner that the user clicked on." However, this model only represents part of the path to conversion. This is because users have already come into contact with various product messages before this last click. "Multi-touch attribution, on the other hand, costs more time, but provides clarity as to which banners, campaigns, publishers and media generate the highest added value." In the coming years, more solutions will be developed to measure the effectiveness of advertising spend across all the different devices and channels so that marketers know where they are spending their budgets with the greatest success, says Kelly, who has worked in various roles in online display, affiliate marketing, search and data analytics for 15 years.

Market shakeout in Switzerland

In his opinion, the next (r)evolution will be comprehensive device recognition; potential customers can be addressed ever more directly thanks to cross-device profiles, confirms Andi Nigg, founder of Adwebster. He is also observing a market shakeout in the digital advertising industry in Switzerland. "Many middlemen and marketers who used to trade in advertising inventory are being replaced by automated systems that publishers and advertising customers can access directly," says Nigg.

Automation of campaigns

Michael Ossendrijver also believes that digital marketing campaigns will be almost completely automated in the future. "This means that real-time data will play a central role in buying and selling media. We are facing a 'battle of the machines' in which the aim is to buy target groups and individual users - each time with an individual price, message and KPI," says Ossendrijver, co-owner and Business Development Director of the DQNA Media Group in the Netherlands. Real Time Bidding is the first step; video, audio and TV advertising will follow suit with similar models. "Technology is the future" attribution across different channels and devices will take center stage and contracts with publishers or other advertising partners will look radically different than they do today. "There needs to be a completely new way of thinking about online marketing: data will become a kind of religion and the driving force behind every creative and business decision."

Market knowledge from international experts

"We are bringing together experts with different backgrounds and from different markets for this panel discussion in order to paint a multi-layered picture of developments in digital marketing," explains Catrin Rubenson, CEO of Admazin, who is organizing and moderating this keynote panel discussion. It will open the second day of the Swiss Online Marketing trade fair on April 10 at 9.30 am.

Further information on Swiss Online Marketing, its program and exhibitors can be found at Swiss-online-marketing.ch to find.

Last but not least: The digital kingdoms

The social media management tool Hootsuite makes the kingdoms of Facebook, Twitter, and others easier to navigate in the fantasy commercial «Game of Social Thrones.».

The latest season of the popular TV series "Game of Thrones" recently started in the USA. The fantasy series is about intertwined power struggles between different kingdoms and societies, religion and politics.

Hootsuite uses the aesthetics of the series to lay out the power structures between the internet giants. The "Game of Social Thrones" commercial shows Facebook as a fortress that can ramp up dozens of functions - Whatsapp is just one of many - to defend itself, Twitter as a harmless little island or Linkedin as a colorful fairground that revolves around itself. The Hootsuite tool provides an overview in the commercial. (sis)

TBWA: New Sunrise positioning makes sense

TBWA\Zurich is opening a new chapter in communications for Sunrise. The telecommunications provider is revolutionizing the Swiss market with new subscriptions without a minimum contract term. From now on, Sunrise is also advertising with the claim "It makes sense".

Sunrise has set itself the goal of offering customers the most flexible, fair and transparent offer in Switzerland, according to the press release issued on Monday. To fulfill this promise, Sunrise is launching the new Sunrise Freedom mobile offer. The major innovation is the abolition of minimum contract terms. But the telecommunications provider is going one step further: in future, Sunrise will consistently separate the costs for the subscription and the device costs. This means that customers will always know exactly how much they are paying for what. Once the device is paid off, customers will benefit from lower overall costs.

TBWA\Zurich is clearly highlighting this uniqueness in the Swiss telecommunications market with a comprehensive campaign and accompanying measures. The strategy behind the communication clearly results in the claim: That makes sense. It expresses the fact that Sunrise focuses on the individual needs of its customers. That's why you can always be sure that Sunrise's offers and services pursue a simple goal: To offer the benefits and advantages that really bring about what customers want and need in their lives. For the launch of the new positioning, a TV commercial was created together with director Tobias Fueter, which focuses on the life story of a man for whom, even as a child, it is the highest thing if his actions also make sense. So it's no wonder that he ends up working for Sunrise.

The other implementations by TBWA\Zürich emotionally charge the USP of the Sunrise offers in ATL and BTL advertising materials and show people for whom the most flexible price plan in Switzerland makes perfect sense. The agency is also conveying the brand's new attitude in numerous internal measures that can be seen at Sunrise headquarters, call centers, stores and at the Sunrise Scene, the brand's largest employee event. The campaign is now on air throughout Switzerland and further measures will follow soon.

Brandpulse: Rebranding of the Hassler brand

Brandpulse has created a new brand identity for Hassler, a Swiss brand in the flooring industry founded in 1894.

Brandpulse was commissioned to revise Hassler's brand design, as announced in a press release on Monday. In addition, Brandpulse defined the interplay and content of Hassler's most important communication tools and subsequently developed an image brochure, case studies and a website.

At the same time as refreshing the company's image, the Zurich-based company Parkett-Maier, which was acquired in 2001, was integrated more closely. However, it remains with its own brand name.

Brandpulse created and realized its own visual world. In addition to the image brochure, separate marketing publications were also developed for the respective target groups. The case studies were implemented in the form of a web-based database. The web store was relaunched and the retail design of the various showrooms was homogenized and adapted to the brand.

Stronger emotions with mobile use

The OMS Mobile Advertising Impact Study takes a close look at the behavior of German users on daily newspaper websites. Among other things, it finds that these users display stronger emotions when visiting mobile sites than desktop users do.

According to the survey, mobile users feel more relaxed when visiting the mobile websites of daily newspapers (48 percent, desktop: 37 percent) and more open to new information (72 percent, desktop: 67 percent). At the same time, mobile users are more focused (25 percent, desktop: 21 percent). This is according to a study by the German premium marketer OMS.

These emotions can play an important role in the impact of mobile advertising campaigns, according to a press release issued on Monday. "Emotions often create a direct connection with the user. The more emotions are involved in a campaign, the better the impact of the advertising tends to be," explains Linda Mozham, Commercial Director and member of the OMS Executive Board. The fact that stronger emotions are shown in the mobile sector is also due to the emotional connection users have with their smartphones.

The study was conducted by Eye square on behalf of OMS from November 4 to 6, 2013. For the lab study, more than 450 users were surveyed on the mobile and desktop websites in the OMS portfolio during this period.

Three new TV commercials for Swiss sugar

Neue LGK has once again developed three films for Schweizer Zucker and produced them in collaboration with Solid & Hallerfilm.

The first sugar commercials appeared on Swiss television five years ago. And since then, they have been among the most popular to be seen in the Swiss advertising block, according to a press release issued on Monday. This is also confirmed by the annual tests conducted by Demoscope: 84 percent of respondents like the films and think they are a good or very good match for Swiss sugar.

As usual, the product itself is at the center of the ideas in the new commercials and forms the stage for likeable stories. To ensure that the quality and beauty of the sugar can be experienced in the best possible way, i.e. in culinary terms, the films were produced using tried-and-tested but also elaborate stop-motion technology, the press release explains further.

TBD promotes Cashgate with common sense

Cashgate, a credit and leasing partner, is adopting a new positioning strategy that deliberately does not promote fast and reckless consumption. TBD’s campaign reflects this repositioning.

Cashgate aims to position itself as a reliable and responsible contact for everything to do with personal loans and leasing: With fair and transparent conditions as well as serious and reliable advice. Protection against overindebtedness is an important aspect of the new positioning.

By doing without the usual key images of furniture, cars, vacations or smiling borrowers,TBD and Cashgate are treading a new path in the industry with this campaign, according to a statement on Monday.

The campaign starts with two key visuals that are used on posters and in ads, as well as in digital applications from banners to websites.

Scatter plan: Campaign for Ok Energy Drink

Streuplan designed a campaign for the Ok brand to launch the seasonal energy drink "spring-break". Stressed-out students are sent on spring break and a new advertising medium celebrates its premiere.

Just in time for the start of spring, the new Ok Energy Drink "spring-break" with elderflower and a kiss of lemon and will be available for three months from March 31, 2014 as a limited edition in K Kiosk, Avec and Press & Books stores.

The aim of "spring break" is to give the young target audience what the name promises: a spring break. Because many students are stressed by deadlines and upcoming final exams during the traditional spring break period, Ok is giving them a break - a "spring break", as a press release announced on Sunday.

In the big competition via Facebook app, participants can win a city trip. But not to the cliché Ibiza or Ballermann de Mallorca, but to less well-known, but all the more exciting cities such as Reykjavik, Tel Aviv or Budapest. For the spring break at home, each participant will receive a voucher for a free Ok Energy Drink "spring-break", which can be shared with as many friends as you like.

In addition to POS communication and Facebook, attention is drawn to the competition with a means of communication that is as simple as it is surprising: the money sticker. Hundreds of thousands of stick-on "Zweifränkler" stickers are being distributed through K Kiosk, Avec and Press & Books branches via the wallets of the target group.

Responsible at Valora: Philipp Brühlmann (Brand Manager Ok). Responsible at Streuplan: Thomas Back (overall responsibility), Yvonne Friedli (consulting), Stefanie Fink (art direction), Ennio Cadau, Barbara Michel (text / concept), 316 participants (online).
