Just in time for the 20th anniversary of ESB and the renaming to "ESB Marketing Network", Evoq has redesigned the logo.

The new name illustrates the development from a niche provider for sponsoring to higher-level marketing topics in many disciplines and emphasizes the importance of the network idea, the agency writes in a statement. Evoq developed a logo to match, which visually highlights this idea: The three individual letters became one continuous, connected lettering. The logo color was retained and gives the new, modern logo a high recognition value.

Last but not least: Phishing for dummies
Phishing e-mails used to be dangerous, but today they are mostly funny. And almost pitiable. Two nice new examples.

Thanks to modern, sophisticated and merciless spam filters, Gmail users, for example, have long since stopped noticing phishing and other fraud attempts. Our parent company's email service seems to be a little less scrupulous. It likes to turn a blind eye and let messages through that should actually be stuck somewhere. The advantage of this is that we really do receive everything from To you receive what we are supposed to. Even if we can unfortunately never publish all the messages.
On Monday, a certain Mihaela Adam gave us the good news that we had won something worthwhile. She left it open as to what or how much it is - it has to be a surprise!
So much luck at the start of the week, fill out the form right away. While we're at it, we might as well sign the documents for Mastercard. The credit card company seems to have updated its internal policy and communicates this with a particularly confidence-inspiring letter:
If this is the current level of phishing, we should probably soon be worried about this endangered species. Perhaps we should support the traditional industry from time to time by complying with their requests and allowing ourselves to be scammed a little. "After all, they have to make a living too." (hae)

According to the press release, the agency's move to Bern was prompted by the continuously increasing demand from all parts of the country for local know-how, relationship networks and experience in dealing with the regional characteristics of the Swiss market.
The location of the agency's second pillar was deliberately chosen in order to deepen the agency's existing relationships with the federal government. Since 2010, CPC has also been supporting companies and associations in the areas of political communication and lobbying, building on its local, national and international network of contacts. Its advisors include the former Vice President of the Swiss Public Affairs Association (SPAG) Lionel Ricou. The new location is also intended to provide Swiss-German companies with access to local stakeholders and media professionals in French-speaking Switzerland - and vice versa.
"Our multilingual teams are already on the road for our customers throughout Switzerland. It was only a matter of time before we set up an office along the Saane," comments Philippe Eberhard, CPC founder and Managing Director, on the opening of the second office. With currently 15 employees, CPC has grown steadily over the last ten years and has continuously expanded its national client portfolio. "We are organized internally into four language teams with different cultural backgrounds and can therefore do justice to the local characteristics of the Swiss market. For national communication strategies in particular, we focus on integrating regional differences and particularities from the outset," says Eberhard, explaining the agency's strategic approach.
CPC was founded in 2004 and is one of the leading agencies for PR, strategic communication and public affairs in French-speaking Switzerland. The PR agency is organized internally into four language and cultural teams. National mandates are handled by multilingual teams in order to do justice to the regional characteristics of the Swiss media and cultural landscape. Public affairs and business intelligence have been part of CPC's range of services since 2010.

Customers want more appreciation from their telecom providers - these are the findings of a recent GfK study. Sunrise has responded to this and is the only telecom provider in Switzerland to launch a loyalty program in which customers can benefit regardless of sales or points collected. With Sunrise Rewards, Sunrise thanks its customers after one year with a loyalty benefit. From a variety of product options, they receive the selected option at a greatly reduced price or even for free, and for an unlimited period of time.
"Our customers can choose a loyalty benefit that really makes sense for them," emphasizes Timm Degenhardt, Chief Marketing Officer at Sunrise. They can choose from a wide range of almost 30 product options. The selected option can also be changed again later and exchanged for another one. Tobias Händler, Head of Brand Strategy and Marketing Communications: "We revolutionized mobile telephony in April with Sunrise Freedom and launched Sunrise Home in June. Now we are setting a third important milestone for the brand with Sunrise Rewards: we thank our existing customers for being with us. Because we value that very much."
TBWA\Zurich has deliberately focused on authenticity and sympathy for Sunrise and the current loyalty campaign. Employees from a wide range of corporate divisions thank customers in their own personal way and thus send a strong signal.
The positive aura of the campaign already spread within the company during the conception phase and developed a noticeable unifying force among the employees. This enthusiasm should also reach the customers with the campaign and confirm them in their choice for Sunrise. For the film and photo production, a big casting call was made among the approximately 1800 Sunrise employees. In addition to three specially selected actors and actresses who staged their individual "thank you" for customers, Sunrise employees were also used to thank customers for their loyalty. When staging the various thank-you letterings in two Sunrise Centers and at Sunrise headquarters, attention was paid to an authentic implementation in which the attention to detail is tangible for the customers.
Under the direction of Marcel Langenegger and cameraman Danny Hiele, a 30-second TV version and a 114-second long version for online streaming were shot. Both formats have in common that all large parts of the country and national languages are united in one film.
The integrated campaign includes ATL measures such as TV, posters, megaposters, ads, eBoards and ePanels as well as BTL measures at the POS. As a special promotion, large-format "Thank you" lettering will be live-painted in the shop windows of around ten Sunrise Centers throughout Switzerland from the start of the campaign on September 15.

On September 18, 2014, Swiss Post will deliver four 1-franc stamps in the form of the "Webstamp" Internet stamp to each of the four million households in Switzerland. The distribution of the stamps is combined with a competition to win prizes worth a total of 90'000 francs. The distribution campaign is part of a compromise agreed between Swiss Post and the price watchdog at the beginning of 2014. The agreement guarantees the continued stability of A and B Mail prices, which have remained unchanged since 2004, and domestic parcel prices until March 2016. The compromise prevented a long procedure, giving Swiss Post planning security.
The stamp gift is delivered as a scatter mailing with dispensed webstamps. At the same time, the mailing offers a voyage of discovery through the world of mail. Linked to the aforementioned competition, it presents numerous innovations that make life easier.

Home.ch is a Swiss real estate portal for residential and commercial rental and purchase properties and offers other features related to housing in addition to the classic search function. Homegate.ch intends to further develop the platform and strengthen the brand by utilizing network effects, among other things. With its niche offering for shared rooms or the unique overview of current building applications in the desired area, Home.ch ideally complements Homegate.ch's existing offering, according to a press release. Customers should also benefit from a wider reach and improved regional coverage as a result of the takeover. With over 5.4 million regular monthly visits, of which well over 1.4 million are unique clients (Net-Metrix audit), Homegate.ch is the online presence with the widest reach.
Home.ch is part of LTV Yellow Pages, which operates the search and directory platform Local.ch. Home.ch generates around one million visits and over 450,000 unique clients per month. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

The online platform is "responsive" in design, i.e. it automatically adapts to the respective screen size (smartphone, tablet, desktop) of the consumer and thus offers a contemporary, simple and convenient shopping experience on all end devices - there is no need for an additional app download. Many Swiss people already have a Ricardo.ch account and can use it to log in directly to Ricardoshops.ch as well. If not, a new account can be created during the payment process or orders can be placed as a guest. ricardoshops.ch is also one of the few platforms in Switzerland to enable fee-free payment: "We refrain from charging additional fees when paying by credit card or on account. This is standard practice abroad, but still longstanding in Switzerland," says Heinz Krienbühl, Managing Director of ricardoshops.ch. No additional and previously hidden fees are added during the ordering process, and prices are stated transparently right from the start.
Marketplace and partner of the trade
Ricardoshops.ch is not only an online shopping center, but also a marketplace for large commercial retailers: "Ricardo.ch is already an established partner of Swiss SMEs, which is highly trusted. With Ricardoshops.ch we now go one step further and offer professional retailers - traditional as well as online - and even manufacturers directly a simple and attractive online sales channel", says Christian Kunz, CEO of Ricardo.ch.
Ricardoshops.ch, as a professional partner for commercial traders, solves many of the challenges of online trading from a single source: a modern web and mobile presence, connection of individual store and logistics systems to the platform, central management of the online marketing channel and a fully integrated online payment system: traders benefit from a complete e-commerce package for the successful sale of their products and Ricardo.ch's many years of e-commerce experience. In this way, Ricardo.ch supports Swiss merchants in competition with foreign providers. In addition, Ricardoshops.ch as a marketplace is also open to foreign suppliers in order to offer Swiss consumers the widest possible product range of new goods at attractive prices.
Swiss competence and international experience
The sister platform Ricardo.ch has already existed for 15 years and is the largest online marketplace in Switzerland. "On the one hand, we benefit from our many years of local experience and expertise; on the other hand, we are part of the globally active Naspers media group and can draw on international know-how. With ricardoshops.ch, we are opening the next big chapter in Swiss e-commerce," explains Christian Kunz.
Advertising spending in Swiss media has stagnated for the third consecutive time. In August, Swiss companies and institutions spent 310 million francs, as they had in the same months of the previous two years. This stagnation is rare.

Liberalization of the electricity market without influence on advertising in the industry
The liberalization of the Swiss electricity market, which began on January 1, 2009, had led to more advertising activity (+20 percent) in the energy sector from 2008 to 2010. These times are over. Advertising pressure in August fell by a full -44.9 percent compared with the same month last year. At best, the total of 126 advertisers will be able to turn the ongoing trend into a positive one by the end of the year.
Retail trade pleases the media
With an increase of 22.9 percent in August compared to the previous year, the wholesalers are drawing on their full resources and developing an advertising print of 214 million Swiss francs over the current year - a value whose level can be traced back to the advertising years 2006, 2007 and 2008. Migros and Coop together dominate 2/3rds of offer advertising in the retail trade sector. However, the Basel-based retail group is "bucking the trend" in terms of advertising and has stagnated at 50 million advertising francs (gross according to media tariff) compared to the previous year. Migros (+11 million francs;+23 percent) as well as Aldi (+4.5 million; +45 percent), Lidl (+2 million;+60 percent) and Spar (1.8 million; +28 percent) are increasing their advertising presence, in some cases substantially and to the delight of all concerned across all media simultaneously.
Every twentieth advertising franc goes to the account of the services industry
The sum of the submarkets training (26 percent), commercial consulting (28 percent) and online services (46 percent!) add up to 175 million gross advertising francs and now mark the eighth-largest advertising industry. As recently as 2004, this sector was ranked 15th (85 million advertising francs). The increasing digitization - also or in particular of the trade - sends its regards. Riccardo, with just over 10 million (Olx.ch launch), marks a new order of magnitude and thus occupies first place in the company ranking of this sector.

Leo Burnett: job swap with politicians
In its new campaign for the Youth Session, Leo Burnett Switzerland is making sure that young people interested in politics can visit the Federal Palace—without their mentors having to do everything on their own.

For once, it's not just the young who take the place of the parliamentarians during the youth session. In this year's campaign, developed by Leo Burnett, politicians are offering young talents the chance to do their jobs so that they can take part in the youth session from November 13 to 16. The job swap campaign itself shows how well Doris Fiala, for example, does as a pizza delivery girl, or Alexander Tschäppät as a bicycle courier. It will be interesting to see how many young people sign up to take advantage of this unusual but welcome service. And, of course, how the politicians do at the workplace of the session participants. The campaign is now on air. It includes TV commercials, posters, the registration website and accompanying PR measures.
