"We have shifted the content focus to more political and topical reporting," says Managing Director Christian Hug. This has established Zentral+ as an important media voice and more than doubled the number of hits.
Two editorial managers
In order to meet users' needs for even more content, Zentral+ is expanding further. According to the press release, this also entails organizational adjustments. From January 2015 Luca Wolf (picture) is responsible for managing the Lucerne editorial department. The 40-year-old trained journalist and social worker has spent the last six years working as an editor at the Neue Luzerner Zeitung in the Lucerne city/region department. There, he was responsible for reporting from the Lucerne City Parliament and the Kriens Residents' Council, among other things.
Already in November last year Falco Meyer has taken over as head of the Zug editorial office. The 29-year-old from Cham, who has a university degree in business psychology and political science, previously worked as a freelance journalist for the Neue Zuger Zeitung, the Zuger Stadtmagazin and the Zug Kultur Magazin, among others.
With the start of their activities, the two relieve Christian Hugwho led the editorial teams ad interim and can now concentrate again on his duties as managing director and publishing director.
Further additions have been made to the editorial teams:
Tobias Granwehr, Editorial Assistant Zug: The 33-year-old from St. Gallen worked for seven years as an editor at the Langenthaler Tagblatt and previously at the Wiler Zeitung. He has been working for Zentral+ since December 2014.
Andrea Zimmermann, Editorial Assistant Lucerne: The media and communication scientist has been working as a freelancer for Zentral+ for over a year. The 30-year-old Lucerne native also holds a master's degree in global society and politics from the University of Lucerne.
David von Moos, Editorial Assistant Lucerne: The 28-year-old from Hergiswil studied law at the University of Lucerne and spent the last few years working as a Junior Relationship Manager at Credit Suisse. In addition, he was a member of the editorial commission of the municipality of Hergiswil as editor of the municipal magazine.
In March will also Robert Bossart come to Zentral+. The 50-year-old Altwiser will take on cantonal topics as editor. Previously, the trained primary school and piano teacher was employed as an editor at the Neue Luzerner Zeitung for 13 years. Since 2008, he has been deputy head of the magazine section of Zentralschweiz am Sonntag.
Redesign and print edition
The expansion of content is expressed in a redesign, which is planned for the first half of 2015. And as it did for the Zug elections in 2014, the company also plans to publish a print edition for the Lucerne elections. Centralplus.ch was launched on January 17, 2013 as an online-only medium and is published by MMV online AG. zentral+ is politically and denominationally independent and reports daily on the cantons of Lucerne and Zug.
