On Friday evening, about 4,000 people gathered at Bürkliplatz in Zurich for a peaceful rally in support of Radio Energy Zurich. They were protesting the station’s shutdown on December 31, 2009. Energy Zurich officials viewed the rally as a powerful show of solidarity.

The motto of the support party was "Stan uf für Energy Zürich". With
In addition to Swiss pop stars such as Bligg, Stress, Adrian Stern, Baschi and Börni, numerous fan clubs were there to express their sympathy for their favorite broadcaster on banners. However, this will not be of much use. For Energy to continue provisionally on FM, the other private radio stations would have to agree to its continuation. The question is, however, whether the other players are prepared to share the advertising pie with a fourth participant.

Vogt-Schild Medien: An edition for the Oberaargau region

In mid-October 2009, the Berner Rundschau (BR) will be integrated into the Langenthaler Tagblatt (LT). The administrative districts within the circulation areas of the LT and BR will be merged to form the Emmental-Oberaargau administrative region. In the future, this region will be covered by Vogt-Schild with a single publication: the Langenthaler Tagblatt.

The Vogt-Schild publishing house is thus reacting to the reform of the decentralized cantonal administration that comes into force on 1 January 2010. For the readership and advertising customers of the Berner Rundschau, nothing will change - apart from the newspaper header: the content, layout, bundle structure and page sequence of the two newspapers are already largely identical. The newspaper will continue to be produced in Langenthal.
The merger will save costs in production and manufacturing, as the publishing house writes in a press release. As daily newspapers have been particularly hard hit by the economic crisis, especially due to the decline in job advertisements, the savings achieved by merging the two titles will help to ensure that the Oberaargau region can be served in terms of journalism and publishing to the same extent as before.
The Langenthaler Tagblatt will operate its own advertising business from January 1, 2010. The Langenthaler Tagblatt and the Berner Rundschau are published by Vogt-Schild Medien. They are the front pages of the Solothurner Zeitung and are part of the Mittelland Zeitung cooperation network.

GGK goes to Berlin for Degewo

GGK, an advertising agency that has been based in Switzerland for 50 years, is once again actively seeking new markets to relaunch its international presence. To this end, the agency has made a fresh start in the German market—more specifically, in Berlin. Last winter, it won the advertising account for Degewo, Berlin’s municipal housing company, in a competitive pitch against five other agencies.

The campaign under the motto "Berlin will never remain Berlin" has been running since June with posters, advertisements and online. Due to the positive survey results, it will be continued this fall. For GGK, this is reason and occasion to intensify the acquisition of additional clients in Berlin in order to gain a definitive foothold in the German capital and have an operational presence on the ground, the agency said in a press release.
