On the occasion of the 800th issue, which was published in October as an anniversary publication, Euro RSCG Zurich designed a campaign that seems unusual for the field of art advertising. The agency observed the sensual experience of reading with scientific precision and presented it in minimalist elegance.
In the cinema spot, we follow the zigzagging eye-tracking of a person looking at a Giacometti sculpture and experience how firmly he is captivated by the masterpiece covered in DU. In the first series of print subjects, the distinctive eye-tracking lines in artworks by Jeff Koons and Alexander Calder show how strongly DU subjects fascinate readers. The fact that all campaign subjects are based on empirical eye-tracking analyses proves that the magazine's eye candy is not just an empty phrase, the agency writes in a statement. These measurements were carried out on real test subjects in the Zurich test laboratories of the renowned research institute Management Tools.
In addition to the cinema spot and the ad subjects, new teaser and subscription card motifs with eye tracking will be used from October. Further subjects are currently being worked on in the test lab.
