Publicitas Publimedia launches Smart Ads

Effective immediately, Publicitas Publimedia is offering its clients and agencies the opportunity to incorporate interactive elements into their print media advertising campaigns.

Together with its technology partner Kooaba, Publicitas Publimedia is launching this innovation under the name Smart Ads. Print campaigns can now be interactive and include response elements on request. Smart Ads use smartphones to provide additional information about the product advertised in the ad.
Smart ads add a new dimension to advertisements, according to a press release issued on Friday. Where previously interaction with customers was only possible in a roundabout way - for example via coupons or the Internet - the new technology results in directly measurable contacts. Readers can react immediately and regardless of their location by taking a photo of the ad with their cell phone and requesting background information, taking part in competitions and reserving or ordering offers and services.

The Rivellution enters its third round

After the first use of Rivellutionaries in the umbrella brand campaign and then for Rivella Green, Rivella Yellow now also has its own Rivellutionary: Anne, a cow trainer, disproves the prejudice that cows are stupid. Under the slogan "Put an end to prejudices", Rivella is calling on people to try the new Yellow.

Rivella Yellow has had a new taste since fall 2009. However, the majority of the Swiss population has not yet tried the new recipe, according to a press release. People claim that they don't like the taste of Rivella Yellow without even having drunk it. The new "Prejudice Campaign" addresses this prejudice and calls on people to try the new Rivella Yellow.
As part of Erdmannpeisker's Rivella Yellow campaign, Anne from Kilchberg ZH has been the new Rivella Yellow Rivellutionary since June 2010. She is a cow trainer and puts an end to prejudice. Her pupils are anything but "stupid cows": the cattle are not only riding animals, but also climb stairs, jump over obstacles, pull carts or roll out carpets.
Parallel to the print campaign, which can be seen throughout Switzerland in June, radio cooperations are running with the "Prejudice of the Day" competition. Anne will also be on the road with cows and her carriage filled with Rivella Yellow free samples during a "cow tour" live from around 5 p.m. on 17.06.10 in Bern on Waisenhausplatz and on 24.06.10 in Basel on Freie Strasse.

Federal Court once again rules in favor of VgT in dispute with Ubi

According to SDA, the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruled last year that SF had wrongly refused to broadcast a VgT television advertisement. This ruling was not mentioned in SF's news programs. VgT President Erwin Kessler therefore approached the UBI and demanded that it declare that SF had violated the diversity requirement by not mentioning the Strasbourg ruling. The UBI did not respond to the submission, whereupon the VgT lodged an appeal with the Federal Supreme Court.
According to the decision now handed down in Lausanne, no one has a right to be reported on by SF on the occasion of a particular event. SF had also not violated the diversity requirement by remaining silent. From a journalistic point of view, it may be surprising that the verdict was not mentioned. However, the public had had other opportunities to obtain information. The Federal Court nevertheless upheld the VgT's appeal.
Ubi must examine in depth whether SF systematically discriminates against the VgT in its reporting. In a ruling last December, the Federal Supreme Court had already determined that this could not be ruled out from the outset. Ubi was obliged to clarify this. According to the current ruling by the judges in Lausanne, Ubi will now also have to examine as part of these proceedings whether the failure to mention the ECHR ruling could form part of such constitutionally unlawful discrimination.
