Study: SRG polls had no influence on the outcome of the vote
The opinion polls conducted by SRG prior to the vote on the minaret initiative in November 2009 likely had no influence on voters’ behavior. This is the conclusion reached by a new in-depth study commissioned by the SRG Conference of Editor-in-Chiefs.

The polls probably also had no effect on the mobilization or demobilization of voters from one camp or the other, according to a communiqué issued on Tuesday. A "democratically damaging" effect of the polls can be ruled out. The scientific analysis was carried out by political scientists Markus Freitag (University of Konstanz), Thomas Milic and Adrian Vatter (both University of Bern). For the upcoming federal vote on September 26, SRG will therefore have two trend surveys conducted and published by the GfS Bern Institute. In addition, regular election barometers will again be conducted in the run-up to the 2011 federal elections. Due to the discrepancy between the survey results and the actual outcome of the vote on the minaret initiative at the end of November 2009, SRG temporarily dispensed with trend surveys and initiated external clarifications. An initial methodological review revealed that the surveys had been conducted according to the best knowledge and expertise available today. A second in-depth study, which examined media coverage and the political environment prior to the vote, concluded that the survey had been conducted in a climate of opinion that strongly favored a "socially desirable" response behavior by supporters of the initiative. The study also showed that supporters of the initiative had concealed their approval either by refusing to provide information or by giving false answers. Based on these findings, the SRG decided in April 2010, to publish trend surveys again and, in the case of sensitive proposals, to take publicity and methodological measures in future.
Stop AIDS campaigns: Past and present

In the 1980s, fear and uncertainty were high and there was a need for information: Is kissing contagious? Can I shake hands with an HIV-positive person? From 1986, the Basel-based CR advertising agency was commissioned by the AHS and the FOPH to provide information about condoms as protection against HIV infection and to promote solidarity with people suffering from AIDS. The agency was responsible for communication for a total of 18 years. During this time, a wide variety of subjects were created: in 1997, for example, it was called "Ohne Dings kein Bums" (No ding, no bang), and in 2004 posters with stick figures against a yellow background were used. Then there was a change of agency. In 2005, Euro RSCG Zurich took over the reins. Since then, the agency has been working with the Love Life campaign to the topic.

The relaunch has not only changed the name and appearance of the brand, but also the pricing concept: the tour operator promises to show what the trip costs and what it earns. The idea to relaunch the brand was initiated in-house by Remo Masala, Head of Branding and Marketing at the Kuoni Group, and was born in Kuoni's futurelab, said Lucia Tallo from Kuoni when asked by Werbewoche. The same applies to the idea of engaging Simon Ammann as a "travel ambassador". The direct marketing concept, content and realization were developed and implemented together and in close cooperation with the agency MSB+K.

To prevent the truck tarpaulin from filling the recipients' garbage cans, the addressee is asked to complete the form integrated in the newsletter and return the entire truck tarpaulin to Scherrer. This ecologically exemplary disposal is rewarded by the textile logistics specialist from Eastern Switzerland: For the current issue, the company is sewing a laptop bag made from its newsletter for each person who returns it and giving it back to the original recipient.
