Aegis: Lawsuit against Basler Zeitung and Sonntagszeitung

The British security firm Aegis Defence Services has filed a lawsuit against the publishers of the *Basler Zeitung* and the *Sonntagszeitung*. It accuses them of infringing on personal rights and violating the Unfair Competition Act. The newspapers deny the allegations.

The lawsuit was filed in March, the legal representative of the Basel newspaper Baz confirmed on Friday in an advance report by the media magazine Edito + Klartext. Aegis Defence Services accuses the newspapers of having financially damaged the company with serious slurs. Last August, the Baz reported that Aegis had set up a holding company in Basel. The issue was subsequently picked up by other media and led to political initiatives.

However, the lawsuit now accuses Baz of making false allegations as well as untrue and hurtful reports. The BaZ neither confronted the company with the serious allegations nor heard it out. The claim is for around CHF 268,000 in damages and a ban on repeating certain statements.

The Baz and - according to the Tages-Anzeiger on Friday - the publisher of the Sonntags-Zeitung also reject the accusations. (SDA)

New partner and board member at Freicom

With Christian Ruppanner as Managing Partner and member of the Board of Directors, Freicom is expanding its management team and realigning the organization at the same time.

As before, Reinhard Frei will manage the Public Relations division and Christian Ruppanner the Advertising division. Freicom will remain owner-managed. Christian Ruppanner will become Managing Partner. He will also join the Board of Directors, where he will support the existing Board members Ruth Frei, Reinhard Frei and Andreas Zeller.

Freicom has realigned its organization and working methods, as the market demands fewer contacts with broader knowledge and more discipline-independent ideas instead of garden-variety thinking, the agency said in a press release. Freicom is convinced that brands can only be successful with ideas that are independent of the communication channel and regardless of whether they are communicated digitally or classically. Only brands that manage to communicate stringently and continuously will be perceived as relevant at all, the agency continues.

Christian Ruppanner becomes Managing Partner and member of the Board of Directors after holding management positions at local and international agencies and working for Freicom for over a year.

Spinas: SAH becomes Solidar

For the past five years, the dollar sign depicted on a back has symbolized the Swiss Workers’ Relief Organization (SAH) and its efforts to combat modern slavery. This continuity in the campaign now benefits the name change to Solidar Suisse.

For 75 years, SAH has been campaigning against poverty and for humane working conditions. In stone quarries in China, on coffee plantations in Nicaragua or for cheap clothing in Asia: everywhere in the world, the poorest people are exploited as workers so that products can be offered as cheaply as possible in the rich industrialized countries. Never before have so many people been exploited as today.

With the campaign to change its name, Solidar Suisse calls for participation in actions against the sellout of human dignity. The design basis for the posters and advertisements is the logo newly developed by the agency. The repetition of the dollar-key visual ensures cohesion in terms of content and appearance during the transition phase to the organization's new name.

Responsible at Solidar Suisse: Rosanna Clarelli (Head of Fundraising), Christian Engeli (Head of Communications). Responsible at Spina's Civil Voices: Lorenz Spinas (CD) / Stephan Huwiler (AD) / Matthias Freuler and Tom Malecha (text/concept) / Alexander Moltzen (graphics) / Conny Geibel (consulting), Bianca Hotho (production), Sergio Beti (image editing).

Audience Council: "The Greatest Swiss Talents" with high entertainment value

At its current meeting, the Swiss Audience Council made a decision about the casting show "Die grössten Schweizer Talente" and the "Sinerzyt" programs on "DRS Musikwelle. The Council gave both formats a very positive rating.

The adaptation of a format that has proven itself abroad was a convincing success. The show had a high entertainment value and appealed to a broad audience, according to the audience council. The moderation and the jury also left a positive impression through their competence and credibility. The council members expressed concerns about the participation of very young talents and about the spreading of life and suffering stories of the participants. Here, a very responsible approach was necessary and the introduction of a minimum age of 16 should be considered.

The audience council considers the "Sinerzyt" reports on "DRS Musikwelle" to be attractive, enriching, interesting and informative. However, the content mix is too arbitrary and often too short. Here, a stronger structuring of content and thematic weighting is needed. It is appreciated that the potential of the large broadcast archive is used in a listener-friendly way with this program. In addition, however, it should be questioned whether and how these contributions could also be made available to a younger audience.

The new head of "DRS Musikwelle," Bernhard Siegmann, answered the audience council's questions for the first time in his new role. His heart and soul and his commitment were palpable, according to the Council. And far beyond the column "Sinerzyt" it let its goals with the "DRS music wave" recognize. In the opinion of the council members, the Internet presence does have added value, but this could still be increased. The abundance of the contributions, which are callable over Internet, particularly positively notice. It would be desirable to offer those contributions, which come along shortened in the radio, in original length in the Internet. In this respect, there is a need and potential for expansion, the audience council states.

Climate Partner with "Oberallmig" for climate-neutral printed matter

With the "Oberallmig" forest project initiated by the Oberallmeindkorporation Schwyz, a national climate protection project is now available for customers who value the fact that the voluntary climate bonus for their climate-neutral printed matter is invested in Switzerland. Compensation "made in Switzerland" is currently available from six print shops.

These six print shops have identified themselves as energy-efficient companies and have also committed to supporting the "Oberallmig" climate protection project. Climate Partner Switzerland writes this in a press release. The six print shops are Rheintaler Druckerei und Verlag Berneck, Druckerei Triner Schwyz, Druckerei Feldegg Schwerzenbach, Binkert Druck Laufenburg, Sprüngli Druck Villmergen and Theiler Druck Wollerau. The "laughing world" label familiar from Climate Partner - in this case with the Swiss flag - may be used for identification purposes. The winners of the 2010 Sustainability Award of the industry association Viscom and the first ZKB Sustainability Award 2009 are also taking part.

The "Oberallmig" climate protection project is a sink project. Through adapted forest management, additional CO2 is removed from the atmosphere and stored in the growing forest. Around 8,000 tons of CO2 are thus sequestered annually, based on the forest area of the Oberallmeindkorporation OAK with an area of around 9,000 hectares, which is FSC-certified. Felix Lüscher is responsible for the project at OAK and has been driving the concept forward over the past two years together with Hubertus Schmidtke from Silvanconsult in Winterthur. The project development, reduced logging and adapted forest management will be financed through the sale of CO2 certificates. The project is set to run for 30 years.

The "Oberallmig" climate protection project did not receive the desired certification in accordance with the demanding CCBA Climate Community Biodiversity Alliance standard due to just one point.

Wunderman: Microsoft keeps the engines running hot across Europe

Wunderman Zurich launched a Europe-wide competition designed to boost software sales among Microsoft partners in the short term. «The Race» was created to encourage the numerous distributors to sell as many Windows 7 and Office 2010 licenses as possible.

The competition was based on a website on which "The Race" can be played. Similar to a racing driver's cockpit, the licenses sold by the participating teams, the remaining "laps" and the rankings of the other distributors appeared there. Whoever reached their sales target the fastest was guaranteed a place in a real cockpit. The prize for 70 partners was an adrenaline-filled weekend at the "Mallorca RennArena", where they were allowed to drive laps in real Formula BMW racing cars.

To draw the attention of Microsoft partners to the competition, real Carrera racetracks and posters were sent out in advance, the agency said in a press release. A regular newsletter was sent to all partners to ensure that participants remained motivated and to provide valuable tips on how to improve their position.

In good racing style, all distributors received branded champagne as a thank you for taking part. The Race" was implemented in 11 different languages for the Western Europe region. Allaccess was responsible for organizing the event in Mallorca.

Responsible at Microsoft: Christian Frei (Central Marketing Group Lead - Western Europe HQ), Alex Solomon (Integrated Marketing Communication Lead - Western Europe HQ), Michel du Croix (Windows Intune Lead & Breadth Program Manager). Responsible at Wunderman: Roger Rüegger (CD), Daniel Schranz (Art Direction), Florian Tillmann (Text), Stéphanie Bertschi / Patrick Biner (Consulting), Philippe Gassmann / John Hiltebrand (IT). Ruf Lanz for VBZ: Royal personnel marketing with Kate and William

In England, wedding bells will ring on Friday for Prince William and Catherine Elizabeth Middleton. The couple has also been immortalized on a special stamp, which, however, has a glaring flaw: Kate is worth much less than William.

Ruf Lanz is now using this stamp and the media hype surrounding the wedding for VBZ's personnel marketing. Because at VBZ it has long been the case that women and men are equally entitled and receive the same pay for the same work. Logical conclusion of the VBZ campaign: It is not worth waiting for a prince charming. It is much more modern for women to take the wheel into their own hands - and join VBZ, according to the campaign's motto.

The subject appears on a full page in 20 Minuten, in Blick am Abend and in the iPad edition of Tages-Anzeiger.

Responsible at VBZ: Heinz Vögeli (Head of Corporate Communications), Jörg Buckmann (Head of HR Marketing). Responsible at Ruf Lanz: Markus Ruf, Danielle Lanz (Creative Direction), Markus Ruf (Text), Isabelle Hauser, Marcel Schläfle (Art Direction), Kristina Burch (Consulting). An unvarnished look behind the surface

By Heart designed an image campaign for Annabelle that also brings the women's magazine's editorial concept to life.

As the most traditional Swiss women's magazine, Annabelle has always focused on the concerns, interests and passions of women. However, it is no longer just "the woman" who is the focus of Annabelle, but women in all their diversity, their differences and their individual life concepts. Because if the social development of recent decades has brought women anything, it is the opportunity to go their own way today in a much more individual and unrestricted way. This is exactly what Annabelle wants to portray on its pages. Also by means of a new advertising campaign that focuses on different women and their personalities. For this campaign, communications agency By Heart developed a unique visual language that "draws attention to individual personalities and their character traits", as CD Hans Siegwart explains.
