Ringier takes over Literaturen magazine

Ringier Switzerland is taking over the magazine Literaturen through its German subsidiary Ringier Publishing. The magazine previously belonged to Friedrich Berlin Verlag.

As early as the October issue, Literaturen will be published by Ringier Germany for the first time. Ringier has already notified the Federal Cartel Office of the acquisition. The acquisition of Literaturen is subject to the approval of the Cartel Office, Ringier wrote in a press release on Tuesday.

This year, Literaturen will still appear in its usual publication rhythm. Next year, it will then be reorganized and Literaturen will appear as a "magazine within a magazine" together with Cicero, with an anticipated five issues per year, according to the Ringier release. Friedrich Berlin Verlag is now passing on Literaturen in order to concentrate on its core competence in the performing arts in the future. Frauke Meyer-Gosau and Ronald Düker will continue to be responsible for editing Literaturen.

Swiss Pledge voluntary commitment continues to gain in importance

Danone, Intersnack, Kraft Foods, Procter & Gamble, and Zweifel Pomy-Chips have recently joined the Swiss Pledge Initiative and have voluntarily agreed to refrain from advertising aimed at children under the age of 12. Launched a year ago, this voluntary commitment to responsible advertising practices for food products has thus expanded its scope and now includes eleven leading Swiss food producers.

Coca-Cola, Kellogg, Mars, Nestlé, PepsiCo and Unilever had already introduced similar voluntary advertising restrictions and publicly reaffirmed them through the Swiss Pledge. Swiss Pledge borrows its content from similar programs in the EU and 17 initiatives worldwide (as of August 2011) and is open to other Swiss manufacturers. Swiss Pledge member companies are committed to responsible advertising practices and aim to use the open initiative to establish them across the industry and contribute to a healthy and balanced diet, according to a Swiss Pledge release.

Following an in-depth review, the Federal Office of Public Health FOPH made the Swiss Pledge companies partners of Actionsanté in January 2011 on the recommendation of the external expert group. To date, the Swiss Pledge is the only one in Europe that has been accepted by a national authority. An independent check on the fulfillment of the voluntary commitment by the market research institute Media Focus showed a value of 99.6 percent of correctly placed TV ads for 2010, the Swiss Pledge release continues.

Currently, the following companies are actively participating in the program: Coca-Cola, Danone, Intersnack, Kellogg, Kraft Foods, Mars, Nestlé, PepsiCo, Procter & Gamble, Unilever and Zweifel Pomy-Chips.

Renzen Communications launches new website for Straub & Partner

Renzen Communications has designed and implemented a new advertising campaign for Straub & Partner, aimed at further increasing the company’s brand awareness. The campaign centers on the theme of «real estate sales,» which is dramatized in a striking way.

On the communication measures, for example, Lenzburg Castle can be seen adorned with a huge "Not for sale" sign. The resolution follows in the footer: "We sell all other properties for you". In addition to the creative implementation, the corporate design was also slightly refreshed. For example, the logo was slightly adapted and the claim "Die Immobilien-Profis" (The real estate professionals) was added, which is intended to succinctly sum up Straub & Partner's core competence.

Posters in F12 and F200 formats and advertisements were implemented. A new website according to the new design is being planned.

Responsible at Straub und Partner: Hardy Straub, Katja Straub (Management). Responsible at Renzen Communications Aarau: Hanno Lietz (CD), Achim Kaufmann (AD), Frédéric Renzen (consulting).

Generation duel of the television makers

There is a full 56-year age gap between the two television producers, Helmut Thoma and Philipp Riederle. At the TV 2.0 Summit on November 17, 2011, these German television heavyweights will discuss the future of television in Zurich.

They couldn't be more different and yet they have a few things in common: RTL founder Helmut Thoma and podcaster Philipp Riederle. Both are successful TV producers of their generation. Thoma succeeded in attracting millions of people to the screen every day by launching the daily soap "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten" and the tabloid magazine "Exclusiv" on German TV. Riederle's video podcast "Mein iPhone und ich" has been attracting 50,000 people to their computer screens every week since he was 13 years old.

The meeting promises discussions. While Helmut Thoma is banking on the fusion of TV and the web and believes that traditional TV stations will continue to play a key role in the future, Riederle sees the future in on-demand offerings on the internet, which are largely produced by users for users. The 16-year-old "digital native" believes that traditional TV broadcasters are ignoring the Internet and the TV usage behavior of his generation far too much.

A video journalist visited the two Summit speakers beforehand. The two Portraits can be found on TV 2.0 Summit's own WebTV channel.

Zoebeli Communications takes over the operational business of Howald & Partner PR

Effective early 2012, Fred Howald will merge his firm, Howald & Partner PR, into Zoebeli Communications and will simultaneously join its board of directors. For Fred Howald, this integration also represents an ideal succession plan.

While Howald & Partner Public Relations AG today works mainly in the areas of healthcare, tourism, trade and for associations and authorities, Zoebeli Communications focuses on listed industrial companies and on communication projects for the Federal Administration. Zoebeli Communications has been a member of the BPRA, the Swiss Association of Public Relations Agencies, since 2006 and has been certified according to the internationally recognized Consultancy Management Standard CMS II since 2007.

It is now planned that Zoebeli Communications will also take over the Swiss representation of the ECCO International Communications agency network from Howald & Partner PR, which is present in 40 countries worldwide, according to a statement from the two agencies. The Zoebeli Communications team, which will comprise nine employees from January 2012, will remain based at Effingerstrasse 6 in Bern.

Image continues to leave controversial Steve Jobs photo online

A picture of Steve Jobs is currently circulating in the tabloid media. The photo has already been accused of editing online.

This is why the New York portal The Daily Beas has already deleted the corresponding article. In Germany, the photo can still be seen online at Bild. The Bild editorial team believes it is genuine, writes Wuv.de. "The editorial team is aware of the rumors," explains Springer spokesperson Tobias Fröhlich. However, these are only based on one source. Just one day after the photo in question, further photos appeared in which Steve Jobs looked exactly the same. Even after a conversation with the Bild agency, there was no reason to doubt the authenticity of the photos. Nevertheless, the editorial team wanted to monitor developments and react if necessary.

Alex Schmid: 20 years of performance and creativity combined

For once, the Zolliker Dialogagentur Alex Schmid received its customers not on the lake, but on the lake - in the lakeside resort of Enge. The occasion was the 20th anniversary.

That an agency can celebrate its 20th birthday is not a matter of course. "In this time, many come and many go, are eaten and merged, internationalized and neutralized, reorganized and ruined," Alex Schmid said in a short speech. His team "has never been one of the noisy creators, but one of the quiet ones" - presumably the recipe for success.

20 years ago, Alex Schmid was supposed to take over his father's company. After three years, it was clear to him that he would rather start out on his own than take over something that had grown. So he did, without preparation, without customers and without capital. After just two years, he moved into the current premises on Seestrasse in Zollikon. Hitachi/Iveco Baumaschinen, BP Switzerland and Elizabeth Arden were among the first major clients the agency was able to build on and with.

New look

Just in time for its 20th anniversary, the agency has rejuvenated its image: with a new logo, a new typeface, and without the addition of "Direct. Says owner Alex Schmid: "Today, we are an integrated dialog agency that works with interactive media and gives much more weight to the potential of a brand than was previously the case." The Alex Schmid brand stands for media-independent, high-quality, response-oriented communication. The new appearance is almost cocky, the 3-dimensional X jumps out of the frame. Customers can look forward to all further steps.

Alex Schmid is still not a network agency. This means that the agency has been able to retain its independence. It only works with and for clients of whom it is convinced and behind whose products it can stand.

Party with style

The honorable occasion was celebrated on August 25 at the lakeside resort of Enge on an island of ideas: Delicious barbecues and a sumptuous buffet provided the highest palate pleasures. The Swiss bartending champion conjured up his own creations and personal drinks on the bar. Musical entertainment was provided by the acapella band "A-cadellic's" with Maxim and the world champion in beatboxing. Captain Remo invited visitors to take a cruise in the lake basin, and work-weary muscles could be massaged to get fit. Listening, experiencing, exchanging, networking, chatting, enjoying - everything was possible. And those who missed the event can catch up on it virtually at Tillate.ch.

Agency at the airport writes small wine bible for Schuler

On December 14, 1563, the longest meeting in the history of church dignitaries came to an end. The Ecumenical Council of Trent lasted a full 18 years. Together with the St. Jakob Winery in Schuler, the agency at the airport investigated the reasons behind this lengthy session.

It is suspected that the wine served, called Teroldego, was to blame. Schuler now also has this wine in its product range. Because of this, the creatives of the agency at the airport have created an exquisite mailing in the form of a small, individual wine bible.

Responsible at Schuler St. Jakobs Winery, Seewen-Schwyz: Robert Hoehn (Product Manager), Peter Delpechitra (Head of Sales). Responsible at the agency at the airport, Altenrhein: René Eugstair (CD), Dominique Rutishauser (AD and graphics) Patrick Lindner (text). Wine Bible Production: Mattenbach AG, Winterthur.

Regional newspaper publisher Waz faces change of ownership

The Waz newspaper group is facing a change in ownership. Major shareholder Petra Grotkamp has made a purchase offer to a community of heirs that holds a 50 percent stake in the Waz Media Group, her attorney, Andreas Urban, announced on Monday.

Agreement has been reached on the main terms of the acquisition. According to Manager Maganzin, the 67-year-old, who already holds 16.67 percent of the company, is offering half a billion euros for the share of the community of heirs. With this step, Grotkamp wants to create clear shareholder structures and ensure that the Waz Mediengruppe continues to be successful as a family business in the future.

Petra Grotkamp is the daughter of Waz co-founder Jakob Funke and wife of long-time publishing director Günther Grotkamp (84). Should she take control of Waz, it would be one of the largest transactions in the German newspaper industry, which has been struggling with falling advertising revenues and circulation for years.

The Waz Group (Westdeutsche Allgemeine, Neue Rhein/Neue Ruhr-Zeitung, Westfälische Rundschau) is the largest regional newspaper publisher in Europe. With its 15,000 employees, the group has an annual turnover of 1.1 billion euros. The Essen-based publishing house is owned 50 percent each by the descendants of its founders: the daughters of Jakob Funke and the three Brost grandchildren, whose shares are bundled in a holding company. Last but not least: celebrity hunting as a PR stunt

A couple pushing two conspicuously large baby carriages in front of them visit Berlin Fashion Week. Suddenly they are surrounded by a horde of paparazzi taking wild pictures.

And although no one really knows who the couple with the baby carriages are, everyone snaps and takes photos - it must be some kind of star. But the real stars are the baby carriages. This is a guerrilla campaign for the Dutch baby carriage manufacturer Bugaboo. The idea was developed by the Berlin agency Bold. (Source: Wuv.de)

Ruf Lanz: New subject realized for CKW

The Ruf Lanz agency has created a new ad campaign for Centralschweizerische Kraftwerke (CKW) that shows: There is only one electricity producer that has been operating in Central Switzerland longer than CKW.

Centralschweizerische Kraftwerke (CKW) supplies electricity to 80 communities in the canton of Lucerne, the agency writes in a statement. As a responsible electricity supplier, CKW stands for clear values and services. Ruf Lanz has been communicating these to the people of Lucerne since the budget was won in early summer 2009.

The latest motif shows that there is only one electricity producer that has been active in Central Switzerland longer than CKW. Because private and business customers in Central Switzerland have been able to rely on the secure supply of electricity from CKW since 1896. The company has deep roots in the region - and is also an important part of society as an employer and client.

The subject "lightning" is currently used on advertisements and posters.
