In flagrante delivers message on pillow

Visana has once again made a name for itself as a health insurer this year with its «In Flagranti» campaign. The campaign runs under the tagline “And you’re right.”.

For this year's fall campaign, Visana is delivering the good news to private customers on a pillow that it will forego premium increases on the most important supplementary insurances in most cantons in 2012. Posters, advertisements, streetcar trailers and banners draw attention to the savings opportunities at Visana. The campaign will run until mid-November 2011.

The campaign for the business customer segment uses four pillow subjects to draw attention to its services as an accident insurer and in occupational health management. It will run until December 2011.

Ammarkt: Revival of the traditional brand happy

The Ammarkt agency has revived the campaign for «I wett i hett es happy-Bett.» In happy’s new sales promotion campaign, the protagonists sleep in the most unusual places.

But public daytime napping is not just a tongue-in-cheek homage to the somewhat crazy zeitgeist. Switzerland a real problem, every third person sleeps badly at night - and therefore only dreams of a redeeming nap during the day, according to the agency. The new happy campaign dramatizes this deplorable state of affairs with TV commercials and advertising motifs and is thus intended to draw attention to the happy sleep weeks.

100 years of Schweizer Illustrierte

Schweizer Illustrierte will celebrate its 100th anniversary in December 2011. On Monday, September 19, SI will therefore kick off its anniversary coverage with a series of articles.

The magazine's ten decades are presented in ten parts on ten pages each. In addition, publisher Michael Ringier talks in an interview about his time at SI, as Ringier announced on Friday. He says that SI has made media history.

The first issue appeared on Dec. 9, 1911, at that time still under the name "Schweizer Illustrierte Zeitung". It was Switzerland's first news illustrated paper and a weekly magazine from the start, Ringier adds. SI author Stephanie Ringel and photo editor Regula Siebenmann worked their way through all one hundred archive volumes and thousands of editorial pages over the past few weeks for the anniversary series, which will start next Monday. The result is a series that will bring national and international contemporary history to life and at the same time shed light on the life story of SI and its creators.

The series starts next Monday, September 19. Publisher Michael Ringier also gives an interview in the same issue and talks about his time as a journalist at Schweizer Illustrierte, reveals editorial secrets and SI's recipe for success.

New communications agency Lackland Communications

Patrick Lack has founded the new advertising agency Lackland Communications in Rheinfelden. Some of its current clients include Rene Schweizer in Basel, Remax Nordwestschweiz in Möhlin, Danfoss in Frenkendorf, and Pavenstedt & Pauli in Zurich.

20 years ago, Patrick Lack founded his first advertising agency, Lack, Scherb & Bucher, in Basel. Lack, Scherb & Bucher was one of the first agencies in Switzerland to integrate digital image processing. The agency served clients such as Feldschlösschen, Pepsi International, Crossair and the Basler Kantonalbank.

In 1998 Patrick Lack, again in Basel, founded Lucky Lack Advertising and a year later Lucky Lack Cybernetics. Lucky Lack was honored with the International Web Page Award in San José/CA (as one of only 30 websites worldwide) and was soon listed in every forum in the world, according to agency founder Patrick Lack in a press release. With a multimedia award from Hamburg and the award for best Swiss newcomer agency, Lucky Lack quickly became well-known. Clients such as Danfoss, Hach and Bakom were the reward. In 2004, Lucky Lack and Dialog BFK merged to form Dialog Lucky Lack - with the idea of exploiting synergies. In 2010, Dialog Lucky Lack was sold to a large pharmaceutical agency.

Caspar, Poltéra: The truth lies in the wine

The advertising agency Caspar, Poltéra has created a new advertising campaign for Albert Reichmuth. It answers all the unspoken questions that even seasoned wine connoisseurs are constantly faced with.

Based on the "La Galerie du Vin" signage, the advertising agency created an unconventional advertising campaign for a traditional wine house. The campaign answers the most frequent, most interesting, most unusual and most exemplary questions about the enjoyment of wine, subject by subject, briefly but succinctly. The campaign is implemented with four-color advertisements in which the provocative questions and answers are additionally underlined with surprising photographs by Felix Streuli. This presentation is supported by various smaller, black and white text advertisements.

The campaign will initially run until December 2011 in the NZZ am Sonntag, Sonntagszeitung, Seesicht Magazin and on NZZ Online.

Swiss Media: Marc Walder elected to the Presidium

At the general meeting of Schweizer Medien in Flims, publishers opposed an expansion of the SRG's online offerings. They also elected Marc Walder as president of the association.

As its name suggests, SRG was created as a radio and television broadcaster, and its legal foundations are designed accordingly, according to the Swiss Media Association. If it wants to expand into new media beyond that, a new basis for this must be discussed and created in the democratic process - anything else would violate the principle of legality. The SRG has a public service mandate to fulfill, it continues; the public service of the publishers is historically and currently also very important - it cannot be "that this valuable and indispensable service of private media for a free, democratic society is undermined by competition through fee-financed online offerings of the state-supervised broadcaster". At most, online can accompany the program at the state broadcasters. Any expansion of the offering, and especially financing through advertising, would already violate constitutional and legal provisions and distort the market even more.

Marc Walder replaces Martin Werfeli

In addition, the members of the association approved an amendment to the contribution and voting regulations. The association is thus implementing what was initiated last year with the amendment to the Articles of Association, namely that the circulation figure no longer forms the basis for the membership fee. Electronic media can now also become members of the association. The Presidium and members expressed their thanks to the retiring Martin Werfeli for his great commitment to the Publishers Association. Marc Walder, CEO of Ringier Switzerland and Germany, Zurich, was newly elected to the Presidium.

Just positive result expected

The association management presented its members with a large number of ongoing actions and projects and also showed itself to be in solid financial condition. A profit of 60,225 Swiss francs was reported for the 2010 accounts - after provisions of 40,000 Swiss francs from the operating profit for future projects. The unfortunately still weakening economic situation also has an impact on the association's activities, it is said. Nevertheless, a just positive result is expected for the current year.

Among the ongoing media policy issues, publishers are currently concerned with the revision of the Postal Act Ordinance, which is currently in the hands of the Uvek department. The central issue is the system of reduced postal rates for the press. The Swiss Media Association is in favor of continuing the current practice of implementing indirect press subsidies.

Coundco/Wirz Werbung: Switzerland's most creative employees wanted for Jobwinner

"Tips for quitting", the advertising campaign launched this year by the agencies Coundco and Wirz Werbung for the job portals Jobwinner.ch and Jobup.ch, is entering its second round.

In a first wave in spring, people were able to submit their own text tips on getting a job. Over 1,700 funny, daring, biting and creative text tips were received within four weeks. In the second wave, which has just been launched, the most creative employees in Switzerland are being asked to submit simple cell phone videos with the filmed tip on becoming unemployed. The heart of the campaign is the website Become jobless.ch. On this site, users can upload their videos. In addition, a Stelle-loswerden iPhone app was developed, with which a tip film can be recorded and submitted directly. The app is now available for download free of charge in the App Store.

All submitted films can be viewed and judged on the website. The three winning videos with the highest votes will be shown in the cinema as a commercial. The winning directors will be invited together with friends to the cinema with aperitif that evening.

The online activities are supplemented by a Facebook app, where the films can be submitted and rated directly. The continuation of the digital campaign was designed and produced by the Coundco agency. The print subjects as well as TV and cinema spots were designed and implemented by Wirz Werbung.
