Zurich Cantonal Police also uses Facebook

The Zurich cantonal police are now also using Facebook, as they announced on Monday. However, emergency calls and reports will still not be made via the social medium. In the future, the emergency number 117 or the nearest police station will continue to apply.

According to head of information Marcel Strebel, Facebook gives the police "one more channel to communicate with the population". Social media are very fast and widespread - especially among population groups that are otherwise difficult for the police to reach. It is now taking advantage of this. According to the announcement, the cantonal police will publish current messages from everyday police life and information about the organization on this channel. In addition, warnings and the like will also be disseminated via the social medium. And finally, the cantonal police will also be using Facebook to recruit employees in the near future, according to the statement.

The Facebook entry was prepared for a long time, Strebel said in response to a question from the SDA news agency. Various social media and platforms were considered, but Facebook was finally chosen. In contrast to City Policewhich announced a week ago that it would first run a six-month pilot operation, the entry of the cantonal police is definite, as Strebel said. If it turns out that the way is not suitable after all, one will "reconsider". (SDA)

Last but not least, tell me who you vote for and I'll tell you where you're going.

The 2011 Swiss election campaign was visually dominated by billboard advertisements that focused on immigration. Publicis turned the tables and conducted a representative survey of over 1,000 Swiss voters from German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland on emigration—specifically, where they would most like to go on vacation.

For Publicis, it is essential to understand what moves the public and thus the target groups of our clients in their everyday lives. The Publicis Talkmaster tool, which is usually used in the context of brand image studies, was used for once in a completely different context due to the current situation, with the intention of supplementing the otherwise rather serious political debate with an enjoyable aspect of everyday life. As an advertising agency, Publicis always strives to understand society in detail and to generate perhaps unusual information that leads to exciting insights.

But now to the results: The top dream destinations of the SVP-voters are the USA, Italy and Switzerland, closely followed by the Muslim Maldives. Contrary to what one might intuitively assume, it is not the voters of the SVP the most loyal guests at home, but those of the BDPNo other party has a larger proportion of voters who prefer to spend their vacations in Switzerland.

The exact opposite is true for the SPThe electorate is scattering to the four winds to their dream destinations. Comrade voters can be found in the USA or Spain, the Caribbean or Italy, Austria or Polynesia. Under 2.5 percent of the SP  Voters cite Switzerland as their dream vacation destination.

The CVP-voters would prefer to travel to the Caribbean. Friends of the Green Liberals are also drawn to the sun - but prefer Australia, Mauritius, New Zealand or the Maldives.

There are also differences in the type of trip: Green Liberals-voters like backpacking (64 percent of GLP-voters like this way of traveling), while CVPvoters - especially the younger ones - also want to use their vacation to party (31 percent of under 35-year-olds CVP-voters are looking forward to a party vacation).

Choose with the greatest possible distance FDP-voters rank the USA as their top destination: 22% of FDP voters would like to travel to the USA. The favorites are Miami and Hawaii as well as city trips to New York, Chicago or Las Vegas. 98 percent of Greens-voters seek relaxation during their vacations and 84% want to experience the culture of the host country. This is probably why the country of the Hellenes is the Greens' favorite vacation destination.

The SP-Although this group is the least likely to consider Switzerland as a dream destination, it is also the most Europe-friendly in terms of travel destinations: over 29% dream of a vacation in an EU country.
