Meta Design: New brand identity realized for Bison

Over the past few months, Meta Design has worked with the Swiss IT provider Bison to refine the brand’s profile and integrate several product brands—which had previously operated separately—under a single umbrella brand.

At the same time, the brand architecture was brought into an adequate logic so that their relationship to each other is coherent, according to the statement. On this basis, a product nomenclature was also created that is intended to strengthen the Bison brand in the future. At the same time, the design team developed a new look for the umbrella brand that further develops the previous one. It will be successively implemented in the coming months.

SRG: Audience Council gives "Million Trap" high marks

The SRG Deutschschweiz Audience Council reviewed the SF quiz show «Die Millionen-Falle» and the sports coverage on DRS 1 and discussed these topics with the relevant officials.

Since the summer of 2011, two seasons of the quiz show have been broadcast on Swiss television. "The Million Dollar Trap" was to be seen, it says in a statement on Tuesday. The audience council considers the show to be an enrichment overall, but has also discussed potential for improvement with those responsible. Excitement is created by the fact that pairs of candidates, and not individuals, take part in the game; this creates an additional entertaining level of interaction. The pace and dynamics of "Million Trap" would be insufficient to satisfy the viewers. The number of questions per show would be perceived as too low. The need for guessing and expanding knowledge is not satisfied enough. René Rindlisbacher as moderator was in itself an ideal choice, but he was not (yet) able to convince throughout. In many cases, he was rather aloof and could do with a bit more emotion and passion.
bring in, according to the audience council.

The show's concept is fundamentally exciting. Whereas in the usual quiz world, the winnings could be increased gradually, in the "Million Trap" it was the other way around: money could only be lost. During the discussion, those responsible also answered the question of whether television could afford such an "expensive" show. Experience shows that it is very rare for someone to go home with a million dollars, even though the title of the show promises it; moreover, Christoph Gebel, head of entertainment, made it clear that telephone competition and advertising also generate income.

The Sports coverage on DRS 1 knows clear rules: Everything - but not too much of anything. The daily sporting events must be conveyed, but the sports guiding chain is and remains DRS 3. Overall, the audience council gives sports on DRS 1 good criticism. In its opinion, the reporting is particularly convincing when background information and voices on the sporting event are presented. This offers listeners an added value that goes beyond the classic reporting of results. In this way, radio succeeds in holding its own against other media when it comes to sports reporting.

The Council sees room for improvement in conveying the emotional side of sport - sport on DRS 1 comes across as rather sober. To ensure that top events are also covered outside the fixed channels, it would be desirable to sensitize the other DRS presenters.

The audience council also discussed which sports should be included in the broadcasts and to what extent fringe sports should also be represented. Christoph Sterchi, editorial director of "Sportradio," explained that the choice of topics depends not least on the success of Swiss athletes. What about tennis once Roger Federer retires? What about ski jumping if Simon Ammann stops flying? Emotions and personalities determine the presence and importance of sports, Sterchi summarized. Overall, the Audience Council believes that the sports editorial team is highly competent and offers an attractive range of products.

SFLB: Proven sensitivity for Sanello

The SFLB agency has developed a campaign for Sanello designed to highlight that the wound care specialist can provide crucial help for chronic wounds.

Wounds that take an unusual and protracted course are referred to as chronic wounds, the agency said in a statement. Such wounds may show no clear signs of healing even after several weeks. This requires a great deal of creativity on the part of doctors and specialists. As with the restoration of old works of art, the treatment of chronic wounds also requires a great deal of sensitivity, expertise and patience.

The Sanello medical service center supports specialists with advice on all aspects of professional wound care, as the company explains further. At the same time, the company guarantees the rapid delivery of modern wound healing products. The campaign created by Spillmann/Felser/Leo Burnett uses classical frescoes to artfully demonstrate that Sanello can provide decisive help for chronic wounds.

Responsible at Sanello: Mathias Weber (Head of Sales), Edeltraud Bernardini (Service Manager). Responsible at Spillmann/Felser/Leo Burnett: Peter Brönnimann (ECD), Patrick Suter (CD), Roland Buob (AD), Reto Vogler (text), Ivana Giannakis, Simone Ammann (consulting), Suzana Kovacevic (art buying), Felix Schregenberger (image editing)

Facebook Studio Award: Walker wins gold

Last year, Facebook called for entries for the Facebook Studio Award. Campaigns were sought that convey the idea of "social by design" and convince through their creative implementation.

Well over a thousand applications were submitted from over 40 countries. Eleven campaigns from ten agencies in ten countries won the race. There is also a winning campaign from the German-speaking region: "Was Zürich braucht" by Walker from Zurich won gold. With "What Zurich Needs", Walker Advertising Agency realized a campaign for the Social Democratic Party of the City of Zurich in 2010, which used Facebook as a platform for activating young voters. On Facebook, people were invited to share their ideas, wishes and suggestions for their hometown. The four ideas with the most votes were implemented by the party's candidates. For more information on the campaign, visit: Facebook-studio.com/gallery/submission/what-zurich-needs as well as Walker.ag.

Last but not least: Cheerful horn concert

The Evangelical Church in Germany is celebrating the «Year of Church Music» in 2012. To mark the occasion, the Regional Church in Baden has commissioned a humorous online video.

A granny with a rollator blocking the traffic triggers a concert of honking horns. Led by a long-haired rocker, the honking sounds finally turn into "Hallelujah" from Handel's "The Messiah". The message: the sound of God is everywhere.

Whether bland or original by church standards - the evaluation of the advertising film is left up to the viewer ...
