Mediaconsale takes over summer enjoyment and winter enjoyment

As of 2012, Mediaconsale is taking over the two vacation specials Sommergenuss and Wintergenuss from Valuemedia.

"With around 600,000 copies, we are now one of the highest-circulation vacation publications. Our success has proven that there is a market need for our products. The handover to Mediaconsale ensures the continued existence and further development of the titles," Anton Zgraggen, owner of Valuemedia and previously publisher of the specials, was quoted as saying in a press release on Tuesday.

"The publications ideally complement our product range and they have a future. We are looking forward to opening up new media channels. And projects to expand the product family are already in progress," adds Thomas Schirmer from Mediaconsale.

Comlot files criminal complaint against Coop

On Tuesday, the lottery and betting commission Comlot filed a criminal complaint against the retail giant Coop. The reason is the "Big Win" sweepstakes, in which customers can win shopping vouchers worth one million francs.

The authority is implying that the game is compulsory because only those who have a Supercard and buy at least 20 francs can take part. Although there are options for free participation, Comlot believes that the conditions for this are far too complicated.

Big Win is an illegal lottery, writes Comlot in a statement to the sda news agency. The secretariat has therefore filed a criminal complaint with the responsible public prosecutor's office in the canton of Basel-Stadt.

When asked on Tuesday, Coop said that the retailer had not yet heard anything from Comlot, which is why it is unclear what it is complaining about in detail regarding the competition. Without knowing the specific allegations, the company is also not in a position to comment.

Nonetheless, Coop says it is taking the news of an alleged criminal complaint in its stride. The Big Win competition and all associated advertising material have been legally checked several times. The wholesaler is therefore still convinced that it is operating within the law. (SDA)
