Process: Testimonial campaign for Edelweiss Air

The Zurich-based agency Process aims to help the airline Edelweiss stand out through an image campaign.

The testimonial spots, which have been broadcast in various Swiss advertising windows since the beginning of this week, show satisfied customers of the airline Edelweiss. At the tarmac, waiting for their suitcase, passengers spontaneously report on their flight, the service on board, the food, the boarding program. According to the press release, Switzerland's vacation airline presents itself as authentic, uncomplicated and friendly.

The Zurich agency Process has been working closely with Edelweiss Air since February 2012. As part of a brand workshop, the positioning was sharpened and fields of action defined. The testimonial spots currently being broadcast are the prelude to a large-scale image campaign, which, according to a statement from the agency, is intended to convey the brand values "emotional," "surprising" and "Swiss. The spots were created in partnership with Brandpictures, Zurich. The aim of the various measures is to communicate the brand values more strongly and to set Edelweisss Air apart from the competition in a difficult market environment through Swiss quality and service.

Maxim Switzerland: Premiere for print edition

The first issue of the print edition of Maxim Switzerland will be published on Thursday, September 6, 2012. Publisher and editor-in-chief Boris Etter explains why no Swiss woman made it onto the cover.

Maxim Switzerland has existed in digital form since February 2012 as Online magazine. The Swiss version of the global men's magazine is now also available in print. Published by the independent publishing house Posh Media is published under license from the American magazine Maxim. Editor-in-chief and publisher Boris Etter denies to Werbewoche.ch any cooperation or similarities with the German edition established in Switzerland: "Not a single page of Maxim Switzerland comes from the German edition. Well over 50 percent is local Swiss content. The rest comes from the American edition and has been adapted to Switzerland".

The latter is the case, for example, with the cover story featuring Israeli top model Bar Refaeli. Etter knows exactly why, despite the strong focus on Switzerland, a Swiss woman is not the obvious choice to grace the cover of the first issue: "I personally promised Bar Refaeli at the Maxim Hot 100 party in New York that she would grace the cover of the first Swiss issue. I keep my promises". However, the first Swiss woman will not be long in coming, the publisher adds.

The magazine offers around 90 pages of classic men's topics. Several interviews (Bar Refaeli, Anatole Taubman, Henrik Fisker, DJ Sania), scantily clad ladies, driving tips from Christina Surer, a beer and car test as well as various survival tips ("How to behave properly on a yacht when there are lots of models on board"). The single issue costs 7.60 francs. (hae)

Evoq: Only Peter did not join in the celebration

Evoq is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year. Despite the dreary weather and nearly winter-like temperatures, around 200 guests gathered in the Evoq garden last Friday to toast the anniversary and the end of the workday.

The agency did not let the weather, which took some getting used to, spoil its fifth anniversary: People gathered under tarpaulins, relived memories, enjoyed festive beer and barbecue and made new contacts in the scene.

Evoq was founded in 2007 by Adrian Schaffner and Christian Sutter and now employs 16 people. The owner-managed, independent agency based in Zurich specializes in the development and communication of brands and their offerings.

Last but not least: A click of the mouse for a promotional contribution

Use a generator to come up with the plot for the next Swiss TV movie and immediately apply for funding from the Federal Office of Culture—nothing could be easier!

Director and screenwriter Patrick Karpiczenko and his colleague Janos Menberg have developed a plot generator that takes a satirical look at the standard of Swiss television films. If you press the "Generate Plot" button, with a bit of luck the technological marvel will spit out real treasures that no SF viewer would want to miss. For example, the film "Stalldrang" is about a pensioner "who wants to know again" and organizes a soapbox race together with the scatterbrained village priest. "The rebellious daughter helps." Birgit Steinegger, Erich Vock and Melanie Winiger are certainly already waiting in the wings. Since the usual suspects are happy to take on the leading roles, but not for free, a letter to the Federal Office of Culture is generated at the click of a mouse to apply for the necessary film funding. However, Karpiczenko admits to Tages-Anzeiger that the federal government is actually the wrong addressee because his generator primarily targets television films.

"The heatwave - A rapping grandma and a likeable German settle llamas in the Emmental and save the farm. Thanks to YouTube, the whole world hears about it." Or: "Firstly, things turn out differently and secondly, things turn out differently than you think - A kind-hearted but unsuccessful lawyer and a gangster rapper in search of meaning adopt an underage asylum seeker. It doesn't always have to be Hollywood." I've got one more... although: Try it for yourself! Chance writes the best stories. (hae)

Adello expands to Germany

The Swiss mobile advertising agency Adello is opening a branch in Hamburg.

Due to a strong increase in inquiries from Germany, Swiss mobile advertising marketer Adello has decided to establish a branch office in Hamburg, the company writes in a statement. This is being done in collaboration with Michael Lützenkirchen, who is known in Germany primarily for mobile services in the mobile payment sector. Thanks to the well-established and well-connected sales team of his company Whatever Mobile, Adello can start immediately in Germany, the statement continues. The first campaigns in Germany are already being planned.

As Adello founder Mark Forster points out, foreign expansion has been on the cards for some time. However, the company has held back so far in order not to lose focus. It was only the talks with Michael Lützenkrichen that drove the process forward, as he brings experience and contacts from more than twelve years of mobile business in Germany to the joint subsidiary. In this way, Adello could minimize the risk on the one hand and gain synergies for the Swiss business on the other.
