Last but not least: Telenovela Royal - the royal family calls on the Press Council for help

The Belgian royal family is fighting back against a new book that contains alleged revelations about the royal family. The palace has now filed a complaint with the Press Council.

Following its publication last week, the book has dominated the headlines in Belgium. In it, Frédéric Deborsu touched on a number of sensitive topics, such as rumors about Queen Paola's alleged infidelities and the "intense friendship" of heir to the throne Philippe with another man. The book also suggests that Philippe and Princess Mathilde's four children were the result of artificial insemination and claims that their marriage was "arranged" by the palace. According to SDA, the journalist often refers to anonymous witnesses to support the alleged revelations, which are often more implied than stated.

As the palace announced in Brussels on Wednesday, the complaint to the Press Council was about "possible breaches of professional ethics". At the same time, according to SDA, the palace considered its actions to be "not in keeping with the tradition of the house". However, the palace had already reacted to previously leaked excerpts and criticized "numerous totally erroneous pieces of information". Now the Press Council should clarify whether the author of the book "Questions Royales" (Royal Questions), the journalist Frédéric Deborsu, had "overstepped the boundaries", the palace explained.

The public broadcaster RTBF, where Deborsu works, has already distanced itself from him. Should the Press Council now prevent journalist Frédéric Deborsu from further disseminating his work, possible fields of employment are already being collected here for the author's benefit:

- The author could take a basic course in citing sources and then try his luck again - in tabloid journalism.

- Perhaps a broadcaster could be found to produce and broadcast a telenovela from the book, but with names such as Prince Phil and Princess Hilde, to avoid a too close connection to the royal family.

- Frédéric Deborsu could wash his own clothes twice, instead of the dirty laundry of others, and then go in search of stories that actually have an inherent value and are of general interest.

- Last but not least, the author of the book could simply switch to the satirical side in order to avoid further reports to the Press Council with the remark: "Oh, that wasn't meant to be so serious, even the royal family has to be able to laugh at itself sometimes".

Leone Ming communicates for Profond Liechtenstein

Leone Ming has launched a cross-media information campaign for Profond Liechtenstein. With this campaign, the company aims to bring its products and services closer to companies, but also to all employees in Liechtenstein.

The chosen slogan "tailor-made pension fund" is intended to emphasize the core competence of the pension foundation. In its current campaign, Profond Liechtenstein is working with children from cultural, sporting and educational institutions in Liechtenstein. The main protagonist of the first campaign is Tina, a pupil at the elementary school in Schaan.

SRG regional journals on digital radio

Radio DRS's regional news programs will also be available via digital radio in the future. The Federal Council has granted the SRG permission to broadcast the programs regionally via a new DAB+ network.

The Federal Council has created the basis under licensing law for the SRG to eliminate the digital coverage gap and broadcast the regional journals via DAB+. In December 2012, operation is to begin in the Zurich-Aargau-Schaffhausen-Glarus area. By mid-2016, all sub-regions are to be served with the corresponding programs. This writes the Federal Office of Communications Bakom in a statement on Wednesday.

Last April, Bakom granted Swiss Media Cast SMC the radio license for a new DAB+ transmitter network. The network will consist of seven regional coverage areas in German-speaking Switzerland. This will enable both SRG and private radio stations to target their content to a regional audience via digital means.

Reduction of the analog dissemination obligation

Furthermore, the Federal Council has made it possible for cable network operators to reduce the SRG's mandatory analog TV channels in the medium term and to initiate a transition to purely digital broadcasting. The necessary legal basis for the reduction of private TV channels was already created in June 2012 with the revision of the Radio and Television Ordinance. Now the Federal Council has also amended the SRG license accordingly.

The Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) can gradually reduce the must-carry obligation in the analog sector if a high proportion of households use TV programs in digital form. In doing so, the Uvek must weigh up the interests of the audience and the cable network companies.

Webguerillas and Feldschlösschen are looking for sports experts

The Zurich-based agency Webguerillas developed Feldschlösschen's current "Sports Experts" promotion, which launched in early October.

The agency designed a sports quiz and a betting game against celebrities. Sports experts prove their knowledge in a quiz on the subject of sports and compete against celebrities such as Köbi Kuhn or Roman Josi in a betting game on the soccer and ice hockey championships. For correct quiz answers or the right game tips, participants receive crown corks credited to their account. The more crown corks a player has in his account, the higher his chances of winning the main prize. In addition, sports fans can exchange their crown corks for non-cash prizes at any time. Those who want to share their expert knowledge with a large audience can also use the crown corks they have collected to appear in Blick am Abend with their personal sports expert opinion.

The strategic goal of the campaign: an emotional promotion focusing on soccer, ice hockey, and tennis is intended to boost beer consumption during the winter months. Until the end of February 2013, codes can be found on all Feldschlösschen bottles and cans in the sports expert design, which further increase the crown cork account of the sports experts. The promotion is implemented in two languages - German and French - on a microsite, but is also available as an app for iPhone and Android.

The Webguerillas were supported by Guave Studios in the technical implementation.

Imprint and Syndicom condemn dismissal at the Baz

The press photographers at the Baz have recently been laid off or told they would be laid off. Impressum and Syndicom condemn the Baz’s actions and are calling for an appropriate severance package.

This week five press photographers received notice of dismissal. Another person was announced the dismissal. This writes Imprint and Syndicom in a statement on Wednesday. The financial strength of the investors who own the Baz makes it clear that there is no economic compulsion for the dismissals.

Previously, the photographers had been asked to sign a "contract amendment". This would have degraded them to occasional freelancers without any guarantee of a degree of employment, the statement continues. At the same time, the fees would have been lowered. The two unions are therefore now supporting the affected members with advice and legal protection and are demanding that Baz negotiate an appropriate social plan with the social partners.
