The Advsry agency, initially MK Consulting, was founded by Martin Kathriner in 2022. The agency advises companies and organizations on strategic communication, public affairs and sustainability issues and aims to grow further in the future.

Martin Zust, another communications strategist, joins as a partner. The two have known each other for over 20 years and have worked together and side by side in many different positions during this time. "What characterizes us is a deep mutual trust. We have experienced how valuable this is - especially when you want to accompany organizations through complex environments," says founder Kathriner.

Both partners bring a wealth of experience and a large network to the table. "We have a lot in common, and yet we are fundamentally different. That is our strength. Different perspectives don't lead to friction for us, but to better advice," explains Zust, who has been the first partner at Advsry since May 2025. "We think from the inside out - and from the outside back into the organization. This sometimes leads to unpleasant but important questions. Even for ourselves."

Advsry wants to support brands and people with strategic communication, public affairs and sustainable concepts and promote their further development. "Impact is created when attitude, strategy and communication reinforce each other. That is our claim," says Martin Kathriner. "And we have ambitions. In the coming years, we will build up a team of experts and support our clients in asserting themselves in the relevant environment for the future".

Erdmannpeisker sends greetings from the Swiss salt works

The Biel-based agency Erdmannpeisker has launched a marketing campaign for «Salina Helvetica,» the new interactive experience at the Swiss Saltworks.

Salina Helvetica is the new adventure world of the Swiss salt works in Riburg and Schweizerhalle near Basel. For a year now, visitors have been able to experience how salt is extracted, processed and stored in Switzerland - but awareness of the entertainment on offer is still low.

Erdmannpeisker should now change this with an intensified marketing offensive. The agency designed and implemented an awareness spot for this purpose. A huge mountain of salt in the middle of Basel's market square caused a stir on social media, YouTube and regional news portals. The deceptively real video, filmed as if by chance, ends with a tongue-in-cheek call-to-action: "Greetings from the salt pans! We look forward to your visit".

The spot is the prelude to a multi-stage online campaign. In the reminder phase, targeted advertising material focuses on the highlights of Salina Helvetica and directly invites people to book a tour.

On Tuesday evening, four journalists were honored for their outstanding work as part of the Zurich Journalism Prize 2025. In his speech and subsequent discussion with Foundation Board President Hannes Britschgi, Federal Councillor Albert Rösti addressed the importance of journalism in democracy: "Journalists play a key role in our democracy - they enable informed decisions and promote public discourse. They are responsible for ensuring that the public is not only informed, but also empowered to have a say and participate in decision-making. More than ever, the craft of journalism requires a clear inner compass. Those who research precisely, classify fairly and write with linguistic acuity strengthen trust in the media," said the Media Minister at the award ceremony in Zurich.

217 entries from German-speaking Switzerland were submitted for the Zurich Journalism Prize 2025. From these, the seven-member expert jury of journalists and publicists nominated nine stories for the Zurich Journalism Prize and three for the Newcomer Prize.

Martin Stoll receives the prize for his complete works for his decades of work in Swiss investigative journalism. The prize honors Stoll's tireless commitment to transparency and his often explosive revelations, which have often had political consequences. Among other things, the 63-year-old is known as the founder of Öffentlichkeitsgesetz.ch, which has improved working conditions for many journalists.

Barbara Achermann from The magazine, Kaspar Surber from WozIvo Mijnssen from the NZZ and freelance media journalist Lea Ernst. Kaspar Surber was honored for his report on the fate of a deported Secondo who died shortly before leaving the country. Mijnssen received the award for his reporting from the embattled Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk. And Ernst received the Newcomer Award for her report "Cinema Sarajevo", in which she told the story of the legendary bar Cinema Bosna in Sarajevo.

Rent a Pensioner" becomes "Boomer AG"

The operators of Rent a Rentner are expanding their offerings. As part of this effort, the company is also undergoing a rebranding, led by the agency Die Antwort.

The shortage of skilled workers has Switzerland firmly in its grip. One answer to this comes from a perhaps unexpected corner - from pensioners. For several years now Rent a pensioner a platform on which experienced retirees can offer their services for small jobs. What once began as a pioneering project has now developed into a trend. Working in retirement is not only socially accepted, but also in demand.

With the new job platform "Hire a pensioner", the employment opportunities for retirees are being significantly expanded. Companies can recruit retirees not only for small jobs, but also for demanding tasks and temporary projects - for example as a replacement during maternity leave or military service.

"We're killing two birds with one stone," explains Managing Director Reto Dürrenberger, who founded the company together with Sarah Hiltebrand. "Our platforms help to combat the shortage of skilled workers - and at the same time we support pensioners who want to remain active or make ends meet financially." In Switzerland, around 20 percent of people of retirement age with an income of less than CHF 2,506 per month are at risk of poverty or are considered poor. This financial situation means that many of them have to continue working after retirement in order to secure their livelihood. In addition, around ten percent of pensioners are dependent on supplementary benefits in order to reach the minimum subsistence level.

Because everything revolves around the Boomer generation, the operators have changed the name of their public limited company to "Boomer AG". Now not only as a company operating the platforms, but also as a specialized marketing agency focusing on the baby boomer target group. "Everyone only talks about the GenZ generation, but hardly anything about the baby boomers, who make up 20 percent of the population. We want to change that," says Sarah Hiltebrand.

Dürrenberger and Hiltebrand and their creative agency Die Antwort are also responsible for the overall appearance, logos, branding and the realization of the various platforms.

Thjnk Zurich and Migros advertise the region with wanderlust

Under its in-house label «From the Region. For the Region,» Migros sells over 10,000 products from regional farms and family-run businesses. The latest film by Thjnk Zurich promotes this regional connection through a feeling that’s atypical for this product category: wanderlust.

Probably every child has dreamed of leaving home and discovering the big wide world. Based on this insight, the current film by Thjnk Zurich tells the story of a peasant girl who longs to travel far away. One day, she climbs onto a delivery van as a stowaway and hides among the fruit and vegetables. But she doesn't get very far - the van only covers the short distance from the farm to Migros. This is a way of drawing attention to the largest regional range in Switzerland, the products with the Migros label "From the region. For the region." label.

The film will be shown on TV and on social media. A short online video also promotes the range of regional fruit and vegetables. In addition, a separate moving image clip was developed for the TV sponsorship "SRF bi de Lüt" and RTS "Passe-moi les jumelles", which playfully stages a regional delivery of goods.

"What the Duck": Rosarot launches social media agency

With «What the Duck,» the Zurich-based creative agency Rosarot is expanding its offerings to include a specialized social media unit. This unit focuses on channel-appropriate and target-audience-specific communication that doesn’t just blast out content, but takes a strategic approach and consistently thinks from the brand’s perspective.

(Image: zVg.)

What the Duck wants to make brands visible on social media with volume, but above all with relevance, the agency writes in a press release. The chosen agency name is intended to symbolize surprise, amazement, the moment when people think: "Whaaat?!?" However, the similarity with the English term "what the F...k" is "of course purely coincidental and absolutely unintentional", the agency emphasizes.

The agency compares itself to the eponymous duck as follows: flying, swimming, diving, waddling, sometimes loud, sometimes quiet - but always present. It describes its work as agile, creative and strategically focused.

The new Rosarot unit operates independently and focuses on the development and implementation of holistic social media strategies, channel-specific content concepts, editorial support and cross-channel campaigns. This also includes paid media, performance formats, data-driven targeting and influencer and creator collaborations. To this end, "What the Duck" works closely with creative and marketing teams and takes on individual tasks such as strategic consulting or content creation as well as the entire social communication as an independent partner. The aim is always content that not only attracts attention, but also triggers interaction, activates communities and, in the best case, generates leads and sales.

Diverse team with a lot of expertise

The What the Duck team unites creative minds with a digital mindset from different generations: "What counts for us is not the year of birth, but the passion for fresh content. From strategy to text, from motion design to performance, media and content creation: everyone brings expertise, passion and a sure instinct for platforms, trends and tonality," explains Matthias Koller, who manages What the Duck in parallel to his role as CEO. Co-CEO at Rosarot takes over.

"With What the Duck, we are creating a unit that focuses exclusively on social media but remains strategically firmly anchored in brand work. Our clients benefit from an independent team with a high level of responsiveness - without sacrificing depth of content," adds René Karrer, founder and co-CEO of Rosarot.

Already in use

In recent months, What the Duck has already secured its first clients, including FocusWater, Saas-Fee / Saastal Tourism, Amnesty International, Bank Avera, Volenergy (BP), Ticketcorner and Rosada. Organic and paid social media campaigns have already been designed and implemented for them or are currently being implemented.
