Spiess-Hegglin and Ringier move forward with verdict

In the legal dispute between Jolanda Spiess-Hegglin and the Ringier publishing house, both parties are dragging on with the ruling of the cantonal court. While Spiess-Hegglin continues to demand an apology, Ringier does not want to have to pay any satisfaction.

blick-vs-spiess-hegglin

The judgment of the court of first instance held that the Ringier title View had violated the personality of former cantonal councillor Spiess-Hegglin in reporting on the Zug sex affair in 2014 (Werbewoche.ch reported). The victim was awarded 20,000 francs in compensation, but the court rejected the request to publish an apology.

Spiess-Hegglin is now claiming this before the high court. An appeal against the verdict has been filed, her lawyer confirmed to the Keystone-SDA news agency, according to a report by CH Media on Tuesday. The aim is to set an example against the lack of a culture of apology in the Swiss media.

Ringier also does not accept the ruling, which was handed down at the beginning of May. The company does not share the views of the Zug Cantonal Court on the two main points, the publishing house said on request. Ringier continues to be of the opinion that the finding of a violation of personality rights was wrongful and that, accordingly, no satisfaction should be awarded. For this reason, Ringier has filed an appeal against the first-instance ruling.

No overriding public interest

The civil lawsuit was about an article that the View on December 24, 2014. In it, the tabloid showed the then Zug Canton Council members Spiess-Hegglin (Greens) and Markus Hürlimann (SVP) with their names and pictures, and ran the headline: "Sex scandal involving SVP politician: Did he ravish her?"

According to the judges, the violation of personality was due to the fact that the name and picture of an alleged victim of a sexual offense, i.e. intimate data, had been published. There was no overriding public interest in the publication of this data. (SDA)

As of June 24, the Swiss online retail market leader is doubling down, by the way, with TV commercials in which actors act out product ratings. This is another concept that has already been used several times. The new campaign was also created in-house at Digitec Galaxus Marketing.

What is new about the campaign is that the 20-strong editorial team at Digitec Galaxus is inspired by the campaign. The landing page for the campaign is continuously supplemented with the corresponding editorial contributions.

EWZ and Rod advertise the switch to the Zurich fiber optic network with Motivationals

A swan crosses pink waters, swarmed by butterflies. Two wolves howl at the full moon in front of a dramatic mist-covered forest. A school of dolphins dives through glittering waters - above them the twinkling canopy of stars. "Don't dream your life away - test free fiber optic internet now."

What used to be the calendar slogan, the sugar sachet wisdom or the pompous airbrush poster in the room of adolescent melancholics is now called Motivational and inspires a meaning-seeking audience on social media. This phenomenon forms the basis for the EWZ change campaign created by Rod Kommunikation. The aim is to motivate the population of the city of Zurich to test the EWZ fiber optic network with one of several providers for a month on Zuerinet.ch - free of charge. "Always listen to your heart - test fiber optic internet for free now." The communication campaign entertains the people of Zurich as a poster and online campaign.

Branders creates Chair Airlines - the youngest airline in Switzerland

Chair Airlines is a new and fresh Swiss airline set to take off. It is an evolution of Germania, which has been operating out of Zurich Airport since 2014. Branders is designing the airline’s overall brand identity, from fleet design to brand communication.

01_BrandersMM_CHAIR-t

It has been speculated for a long time, but now it is official: The newest Swiss airline is called Chair Airlines. For the former Swiss Germania company, it is time for a complete relaunch after the insolvency of the German Germania. The branding boutique Branders won the agency selection and now presents the overall appearance of the new airline - from naming and cabin crew accessories to fleet design and image communication.

With the name Chair, Branders is focusing on the essence of the airline: it is a young, uncomplicated and dynamic company. "In a young company with flat hierarchies and short paths, you are allowed to think differently and have the courage to be different in the market," says Branders CEO René Allemann. The choice of the name "Chair" already proves this.

The name Chair - the English expression for "chair" - was chosen quite deliberately. The chair symbolizes the seat on the plane, while the color separation of the red 'ch' and the blue 'air' in the logo alludes to the airline's Swiss origins.

Cheeky, fresh, cheerful, familiar, flexible and service-oriented

The fresh and uncomplicated spirit of the airline is also to be reflected in the new appearance, with the Chairs typeface conveying closeness and modernity. The "i" in the lettering becomes a super sign, the agency cries: "As the symbol of a relaxed, reclined passenger, it is the basis of a dynamic design system that reflects lightness and humor and can be flexibly played with colors and images."

The first Airbus A319 is already wearing the new Chair livery, and the other two aircraft in the Chair fleet will undergo the visual adaptation in the coming days.

Video game playing children and young people are not fatter according to study

Video games do not appear to significantly contribute to obesity. This is according to a report by researchers who analyzed 20 studies published in the journal *Social Science & Medicine*.

fortnite

According to the study, adults who play computer or video games are slightly fatter than non-gamers, but the effect is small. The researchers from Würzburg (Germany) and Linz (Austria) found no correlation at all in children and adolescents.

Less than one percent of body weight in adults can be attributed to video games, report researchers led by Caroline Marker from the Institute for Human-Computer Media at the University of Würzburg. "The results do not confirm the assumption of a strong correlation between video games and body weight."

For the study, the scientists only looked at games in which people sit and press buttons. According to other studies, active games with larger movements that are transferred to the screen, such as bowling or dancing, can even prevent obesity. According to a meta-analysis from 2015, they can be just as beneficial for the health of children and young people as outdoor exercise.

TV sofa stool

In addition, a recent motor skills study in Germany showed that children who play games do not necessarily move less. However, children and young people are generally moving less and less. According to the study, everyday physical activity in the group of 4 to 17-year-olds has fallen by more than a third (37%) over the past twelve years.

The researchers do not know why gambling is associated with a slight increase in weight in adults but not in adolescents. "It is possible that these are cumulative effects," says first author Marker. Mechanisms that lead to weight gain tend to work over longer periods of time. It is possible that adults have spent more time playing video games over the years than adolescents, who are often only involved in video games for a short period of time.

Studies show that TV couch potatoes can put on quite a bit of weight. The new meta-analysis does not provide a clear answer to the question of why this is not the case for gamers. The authors have several possible explanations: One is that gaming consumes more energy than watching TV, despite sitting. On the other hand, nibbling is easier when watching TV than when gaming. In addition, TV advertising could tempt us to eat high-calorie foods. (SDA)

Visa launches global marketing campaign for the Women's World Cup

As a partner of FIFA, Visa has launched a global marketing campaign for the FIFA Women's World Cup France 2019. Under the motto "One Moment Can Change the Game", the campaign focuses on women's achievements on and off the pitch: from inspiring sporting successes to their influence in the economy and in the boardrooms of companies.

ramona-bachmann

"Women's football is at an important juncture. This year, there is a global wave of support around women's empowerment, and the excitement continues to grow with the sold-out opening and final matches of the FIFA Women's World Cup France 2019," said Merle Meier-Holsten, Head of Marketing, Central Europe at Visa, in a statement. "Visa's long-standing partnership with the FIFA Women's World Cup is more than just a sponsorship - it's about driving change and empowering women's football."

Visa has chartered a train to Paris to the FIFA Women's World Cup for Swiss football fans. Even before the official launch of the campaign, tickets for the match between Chile and the USA were raffled off in Switzerland via Instagram and Facebook as well as on the channels of partner banks. The winners will travel to Paris for four days and will be there live at the Parc de Princes stadium on June 16.

The global campaign features a series of spots inspired by real stories of players, including Team Visa members Ramona Bachmann (Switzerland), Lucy Bronze (England), Eugenie Le Sommer (France), Kim Little (Scotland), Dzsenifer Maroszan (Germany) and Nadia Nadim (Denmark). Whether it's Dzsenifer Maroszan scoring the decisive goal in the final of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio or Nadia Nadim, a refugee from Afghanistan, being called up to a regional U-15 team after arriving in Denmark.

The global campaign will be rolled out in 33 markets and will feature a combination of hero and social films. In Switzerland, the campaign starts this week with a focus on social media channels such as Twitter, Snapchat and YouTube. Short commercials, digital banners and organic posts will bring the campaign and the motto "One Moment Can Change the Game" to life.

The creation comes from Saatchi & Saatchi London, the local adaptation was handled by Publicis Pixelpark.
