The Swiss Photo Award will be more museum-like this year than in the past: it will show almost three times more works and it will extend the exhibition period from one to two weeks. In addition, the selection of the best Swiss photographic works will take place in a completely redesigned exhibition architecture from May 17 to June 2 in the EWZ substation Selnau in Zurich. The event will kick off with a vernissage and a simple awards ceremony on Thursday, May 16.

With the Tages-Anzeiger, the Swiss Photo Award Ewz.Selection has gained a new partner for the newly introduced category of reportage photography, according to a statement by the Swiss Photo Award. The cooperation allows the presence of the award to be expanded through advertisements.

Notch Interactive: Multichannel strategy for Swisscom

Notch Interactive supported Swisscom in launching a new multichannel strategy, both conceptually and visually. The integration of online and offline channels is intended to meet changing customer needs.

Customers have recently been able to select desired products online on the Swisscom website and check their availability in nearby Swisscom stores. The available products can then be reserved at a Swisscom store of choice. The reservation remains valid for several days and the customer thus has the option of obtaining products more quickly than via conventional home delivery or additionally receiving personal advice in the store on the reserved product or the desired subscription.

Notch Interactive designed the user journey of the new process for Swisscom. The challenge was to integrate the new purchasing option into the existing online purchasing process as well as the new store locator, which shows the user the optimal Swisscom stores for reserving the selected products, the agency said in a statement on Thursday.

Furthermore, Notch Interactive was responsible for the visual implementation of the process on the Swisscom site. The task was to visualize the designed user journey in a simple and understandable way. This also includes a newly structured and designed confirmation email, which clearly and comprehensibly shows the user the information about the completed reservation. To test user acceptance, Notch Interactive created a visual prototype. This enabled us to conduct usability tests.

Responsible at Swisscom: Meik Schneider (client), Giuseppe Giglio (overall project management), Philipp Lutz (project management IT), Mirco Fazio (business engineer), Nico Ampola (offline processes). Responsible at Notch Interactive: Peter van der Touw (overall responsibility), Martin Pfeiffer (project management and conception), Tobias Fuhlroth (technical direction), Marco Klein (screen design and art direction), Lukas Bünger (conception), Matthias Meier (frontend programming).

Last but not least: Olympic problem bundler

If Ringier has its way, the people of Graubünden will approve the Olympic Games. M13 shows that this could be difficult.

Not only the sports-loving Unterländer, but also Ringier is known to find the idea of an Olympic Games in Graubünden extremely appealing. This enthusiasm is not only due to Infront Ringier's involvement in the search for sponsors. According to CEO Marc Walder, it is logical that sports-loving newspapers such as Blick and Sonntagsblick are fundamentally positive about the idea of an Olympic Games in their own country. Added to this is his personal enthusiasm for the "wonderful Grisons" (Werbewoche.ch reported). In order to ensure balanced reporting, opponents were given space for arguments in last year's Sonntagsblick. Since then, critical reporting has shrunk to a manageable level.

All of Helvetia is impressed by Ringier's opinion machinery. All of Helvetia? No. A part of the country populated by unyielding Grisons citizens will not stop resisting the media house. Capricorn-like and stubborn, they refuse to share the prescribed Olympic euphoria. Even spontaneously issued deficit guarantees and celebrity statements in the View nothing.

Blick sports boss Felix Bingesser therefore set off the ultimate district fireworks yesterday, Tuesday, and published a full-page open letter to Graubünden. Title: "Fascination of the rings in Switzerland - OlympJA!" The words get under your skin in such a way that even an Aargau native can get wet eyes in places. And the arguments are convincing: "Dear people of Graubünden. Games in St. Moritz and Davos only make sense if they are wanted and supported by the population." The people of Graubünden were probably not aware of this until now. Of course there would be ecological issues to clarify and of course the Games would cost "a hell of a lot of money" - but after all, the UBS banker gambled away even more in a very short space of time last year.

Did that work? One may doubt it. In response, the people of Graubünden shot down our favorite bear M13 today and showed the lowlands what they think of attempts to influence the media. The answer to the OlympJA was thrown in for free. (hae)

Advico: Magazine page turned into a razor blade

Advico has developed a two-page ad for the Swiss Hemophilia Society from the perspective of someone with hemophilia. Hemophilia is an inherited disorder that prevents blood from clotting or causes it to clot very slowly, which is why even the smallest injuries can be dangerous.

According to the press release, the ad uses the medium to make the following statement: Every reader has probably cut themselves on a paper page - albeit without any major consequences. From the point of view of a hemophiliac, however, an ordinary magazine page becomes a razor blade. The resolution follows on the back of the ad: "For a hemophiliac, this page is as dangerous as a blade."
The subject appeared in Weltwoche and Sonntagsblick magazine.

Responsible at Swiss Hemophilia Society: Jörg Krucker. Responsible at Advico: Martin Stulz, Dominik Oberwiler (CD), Patrick Bucher (text/concept), Oliver Glutz von Blotzheim (AD), Pascal Trütsch, Jonathan Schipper (consulting);; Mediaxis: Andrea Waldburger (Media).

New website for Unicef

Goldbach Interactive and Kampaweb have redesigned the UNICEF Switzerland website. The website meets the future requirements for a modern online marketing and campaign tool.

Inform, mobilize and generate donations: These were the diverse requirements of the children's aid organization Unicef Switzerland for the new web presence. In addition to the contemporary design with generous use of images, numerous structural, content-related and functional innovations were implemented. For example, the navigation structure was adapted to focus on the target group and social media widgets were implemented throughout. Special attention was paid to the donation process, which was revised in terms of user-friendliness and transparency. Thanks to the structuring according to countries and programs, visitors to the site who are willing to donate can easily decide which Unicef project they want to donate money to.

The technical framework consists of the Drupal CMS and the Salsa online CRM - making Unicef the first major Swiss nonprofit to rely on a modern online CRM for online communications, e-fundraising and advocacy, according to Goldbach. The Drupal/Salsa package enables the organization to set up peer-to-peer donation pages, petitions and pressure mails within a short time. The new website is responsive - making it fully usable on desktop, tablet and mobile.

Goldbach Interactive was responsible for the design concept and the visual user guidance; Kampaweb for the technical implementation of the Drupal/Salsa package as well as the connection to the existing CRM.

Responsible at Goldbach Interactive: Dirk Unger (creation), Nadine Franzen (project management/consulting). Responsible at Kampaweb: Jos Doekbrijder (project management/consulting), Peter Haberstich (concept), Miro Dietiker (technical project management), Sascha Grossenbacher (implementation). Responsible at Unicef: Flavio Calligaris (Head of Marketing / Communications), Elisabeth Karagiannis (Head of Information), Manfred Ruf (Head of IT).

Star TV no longer shows Swiss films

For the time being, Star TV will no longer air Swiss films. The reason given is that SRF wants to use the co-produced films itself. SRF has expressed surprise at the allegations.

Star TV has always felt committed to Swiss film, the station writes in a statement. Therefore, as part of the programming change on September 1, 2012, a programming window was opened on Thursday evenings each week to allow a Swiss feature film or documentary to be broadcast (Werbewoche.ch reported). The station will now have to do without this for the time being, starting in March. SRF wants to use the Swiss films it co-produces exclusively for itself as part of its contracts with producers, some of which last more than ten years.

"This is understandable in approach. On the other hand, it is incomprehensible and unacceptable that films that are not intended for further broadcast by SRF are no longer released for Star TV," says Paul Grau, CEO of Star TV. Grau continues: "Out of fear of getting into trouble with the market-dominating broadcaster, producers are reacting in an intimidating manner.

As part of a new agreement between SRF and Swiss film producers, solutions are to be found in the future that will allow Swiss films to be broadcast again on private TV stations. "Actually, this would be more than sensible; ultimately, CH films are mainly financed by fee and film subsidy money. Consequently, Swiss viewers have a basic right to Swiss films. Something like this must not be monopolized," Grau adds.

SRF spokesman Martin Reichlin cannot understand the accusations and expressed surprise to Werbewoche.ch about Star TV's announcement: "SRF is in constant contact with the person responsible for programming at Star TV. There has not been a single concrete request from the channel for a Swiss film that we have turned down. While we believe that the films in question should first be shown on SRF, this does not mean that we withhold them from other broadcasters. SRF has great interest in Swiss film getting high visibility." (hae)

"The SP's advertising achieves nothing"

In an interview with the *Handelszeitung* ahead of the vote on the “fat cat” initiative, Peter Felser comments on the state of political advertising in Switzerland.

He considers Economiesuisse's widely criticized poster campaign against the initiative to be "appealing in its approach". It addresses the widespread resentment about high management salaries and admits "that the concerns of the initiative make sense at first glance". Accordingly, she urged citizens to take a closer look and form their own opinion. That makes sense. "In marketing, people are far too often underestimated," says Felser.

Felser, on the other hand, has nothing good to say about the parties' advertising. He does have to "acknowledge that the SVP has a clear and well-founded strategy". "However, the implementation with a crowbar turns the whole thing into a negative." Felser considers the SP's advertising with the slogan "Yes!" to be "absolutely wrong": "It is far too simplistic to simply say yes as an opponent of the SVP, which always says no. However, the emotional implementation of some issues cannot correct the wrong strategy." In this way, the Social Democrats achieved nothing. "The SP's advertising leaves people indifferent." (SDA)
