Goal pleads with Noser for lower electricity consumption

Goal continues to design advertisements for Noser Light that make direct references to politics. In a nod to the Green Liberal Party (GLP)«s popular initiative »Energy Tax Instead of Value-Added Tax” and the federal government’s ecological tax reform, Noser Light rejects the “eco-commissioners” from Bern.

The company advocates lower electricity costs and therefore recommends to consumers on posters that "LED is simply fat". And in advertisements, the budget-friendly slogan is "If you can't see the eco-commissioner... then save with LED".

Mediapulse clarifies: Control Commission remains

Mediapulse responds to the article «TV Stations Are Already Analyzing New TV Data.» It is not true that its collaboration with the Media Research Monitoring Commission has ended. It remains committed to the collaboration in any case.

For years, the Media Science Control Commission MWK, headed by Professor Heinz Bonfadelli (University of Zurich), had the task of regularly monitoring Mediapulse's existing TV panel as an independent body. This will continue to be the case in the future, Nico Gurtner, spokesman for Mediapulse, has now announced. The MWK will also review the new panel and the composition of its sample and report on it annually, he said. A statement by Bonfadelli at the end of the article mentioned had been misunderstood. The cooperation with MWK is by no means over, he said.

However, it was correct that MWK was not currently involved in the panel and quota review. Mediapulse had commissioned two independent experts "who are familiar with Kantar Media's panel system". They had already begun their work. "However, no results are available yet," said Gurtner.

Reach implements international branding project

The two listed companies Intercell and Vivalis, which are active worldwide in the vaccine and antibody sector, announced their planned merger on December 16. The new name and corporate identity were developed and implemented by Reach.

As this merger is a "merger of equals", a new identity had to be created without any reference to the previous names and corporate identities, the agency said in a statement on Friday. The new name had to have a positive ring to it, be pronounceable worldwide and not have been used as a brand anywhere else. Of course, the dotcom domain name also had to be available. Reach generated several hundred name suggestions, reduced them to shortlists and checked their usability. The favorites were subjected to an extensive trademark search. The name "Valneva" emerged as the winner.

The visual appearance

The new image can be derived from the two partners without this derivation being obvious in the result. It is intended to convey scientific seriousness and international dynamism at the same time. The word/figurative mark is designed in such a way that it is tailored to the communication needs and takes into account the various future applications. The color scheme should also express the values of the new company.

Publisuisse achieves net profit of CHF 3.7 million

Net revenues from other business areas (TV and radio sponsorship and cross-media) amounted to CHF 34 million.

A difficult year for the Swiss advertising market

In 2012, the Swiss economy and the advertising market had to hold their own in a difficult national and international environment, Publisuisse said in its press release. New competitors entered the market, which led to a further intensification of competition. The decline in sales in 2012 was also due to the fact that the record sales in 2011 were used as an exceptionally high basis for comparison.

Picture of dead children in Gaza Strip is press photo of the year

A photo of dead children following an Israeli rocket attack in the Gaza Strip has been named Press Photo of the Year for 2012. The international jury of the World Press Photo Contest announced this on Friday in Amsterdam.

The photograph by Swede Paul Hansen shows a funeral procession in Gaza City last November. In the foreground of the picture, men hold two-year-old Suhaib Hijazi and her three-year-old brother Muhammad in their arms. Both children are dead.

In the background, the little girl's father, who was also killed, is being carried on a stretcher. The family's house had been destroyed in the rocket attack. The mourners were on their way to a mosque. Hansen shot the photo for the newspaper "Dagens Nyheter".

In total, the jury honored 54 photographers in nine categories. One Swiss photographer also received an award: Dominic Nahr took third place in the "General News Singles" category. His photo shows the mutilated body of a soldier smeared with petroleum on the border between Sudan and South Sudan. The 29-year-old Magnum photographer had taken the picture for Time magazine.
