Ammarkt lets Shoppinger celebrate

To mark the 5th anniversary of the St. Gallen Shopping Arena, Ammarkt has developed a four-month celebration plan. This plan focuses on the shopping center’s key themes.

Families, Mini lovers and fashionistas will have the chance to win a Mini Ray II in each of the three competitions "Mall of Fame", "Hall of Surprise" and "Wall of Fashion". In addition, the shopping center in eastern Switzerland is offering an extensive entertainment program under the motto "Celebrate 5 years. Win 3 Minis". In January/February, for example, the Shopping Arena let its visitors celebrate in the "Mall of Fame" with stars like on Hollywood Boulevard.

In March, the shopping center was the scene of the anniversary celebration - and a reality show. In the FM1 Mini-WG, it was a question of who could last the longest in the cramped quarters of a small car. Local radio FM1 reported online via live cam. And now in April, the Shopping Arena is looking for the fashion icon of eastern Switzerland with a Facebook competition.

The anniversary measures will be in place until the end of April 2013. The advertising measures include advertisements, posters, radio spots, a microsite, a Facebook fan page, vehicle lettering, POS measures and flyers.

Responsible at Shopping Arena: Marc Schäfer (Center Manager), Fabienne Diez (Marketing Manager). Responsible at Ammarkt: Marcel Odermatt, Lucia Burtscher (Strategy & Consulting), Lea Hobi, Sandra Sigrist (Media & Production), Martin Fuchs (Creative Direction), Christof Müller (Art Direction), Angelina Räss, Clarissa Krauss (Graphics), Aron Herz (Text).

Dachcom launches "Tanzcafé Arlberg" for Zurich residents

Dachcom has designed a campaign for the Lech Zürs ski resort in Vorarlberg (Austria). The campaign aims to promote late-season skiing in the sun.

As the Arlberg is no further away than Davos at two hours' drive from Zurich, only premium locations at Zurich Airport and around and in Zurich's main railway station were chosen as advertising locations, the agency said in a press release on Thursday. Under the motto "Tanzcafé Arlberg", Lech and Zürs are offering a music festival with live jazz, soul, rock'n'roll and swing bands on the sun terraces and in various hotels and bars from April 1 to 21, 2013. A nostalgic après-ski motif of the Tannberger Hof from the 1960s was therefore chosen as the theme.

A QR code with a specific link to the appropriate offers and hotels allows the scanner to find the offer without any detours. The classic F12 posters and the F12 illuminated posters were posted at APG and Clear Channel, with the display staggered from week 9 to week 13.

Responsible at Dachcom Communication BSW, Rheineck: Christoph Matzner (concept, consulting, idea), Fabio Stuppia (graphics, layout).

Mediapulse is allowed to release data again

Now that the legal situation has been clarified, Mediapulse is once again permitted to provide data to broadcasters and advertisers.

At the end of last week, a super-provisional injunction was obtained against Mediapulse before the Nidwalden High Court (Werbewoche.ch reported). According to a press release issued by Mediapulse on Thursday, only deliveries to broadcasters and marketers in compliance with the confidentiality obligation appeared to be permitted. As Mediapulse does not have a confidentiality agreement for the data with any of its customers, data deliveries to broadcasters and marketers have been stopped until the competent court has ruled on the interpretation of this formulation.

Now that the legal situation has been clarified with the competent court, Mediapulse is once again in a position to make the measurement data available to customers, according to the press release. Broadcasters and marketers will therefore receive the daily data deliveries again from today.

Media reveal secret dealings of offshore companies

International media outlets have received a large amount of leaked material regarding secret transactions in tax havens. Journalists around the world have been analyzing the data over the past few months. They have also uncovered transactions involving companies and private individuals in Switzerland.

The Sonntagszeitung and Le Matin Dimanche wrote this in a press release on Thursday. According to the two newspapers, they had access to the documents, which contain the names of around 122,000 companies, 12,000 financial intermediaries and 130,000 individuals who are said to be connected to offshore companies. Some of these companies were undoubtedly set up in order to keep assets secret from the tax authorities, the two newspapers write. According to them, the documents also contain information on around 300 individuals and 70 companies in Switzerland.

They showed in detail how Swiss banks, trustees and lawyers had opened thousands of companies in tax havens. This made it impossible for tax authorities worldwide to track down their clients' assets. The two newspapers intend to report on individual cases in their next editions.

Several dozen media outlets worldwide have also analyzed the data, including the BBC, The Washington Post, The Guardian, Le Monde and the Süddeutsche Zeitung.

The documents, amounting to 260 gigabytes, were leaked anonymously to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) in Washington. They are said to originate from two companies in Singapore and the British Virgin Islands.

ICIJ - International Network of Investigative Journalists

The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists ICIJ received the explosive data on the dubious transactions in ten tax havens on a hard disk in the US capital Washington. In analyzing the enormous amount of data, the ICIJ relied on the cooperation of a total of 46 media outlets worldwide.

The ICIJ was founded in 1997 as a project of the Center for Public Integrity CPI. The CPI is a non-profit organization in the USA dedicated to "exposing abuse of power, corruption and dereliction of duty by powerful public and private institutions".

In its disputes with lobby organizations, for example, the CPI fought a bitter battle with the tobacco industry for years. Confidential documents from the companies were repeatedly made public.

The CPI is financially supported by a number of foundations, including the Knight Foundation and the Ford Foundation. Between 2000 and 2002, the billionaire George Soros also donated a total of over one million dollars to the CPI. This donation also sparked criticism in the USA, as Soros, an avowed opponent of then US President George W. Bush, also donated millions to left-wing organizations such as Moveon.org.

With the ICIJ, the CPI wanted to expand the focus of investigative journalism beyond the borders of the USA at the end of the 1990s. With this network, the CPI promotes the exchange of data, analysis tools and research strategies. Membership of the exclusive club is by invitation only. (SDA)
