Serranetga: Galaxy S4 promotion for Samsung

Over the past three months, Serranetga has created and implemented various Facebook campaigns for Samsung, doubling the number of Facebook fans from 59,000 to 118,000. In the current project, the offline promotion of the new Galaxy S4 is being brought to life online.

Serranetga created a photo wall in the shape of an oversized Galaxy S4 for the customer. Visitors to the Galaxy Studio, which is stopping off at various locations from April 29 to June 9, can have their picture taken in it. The best snapshots will then be voted for in the Facebook app "Entertain Us" developed by Serranetga. The top three winners will receive a meet & greet with Robbie Williams. In addition, visitors to the Galaxy Studio will be filmed solving tricky tasks. The video content generated in this way (15 videos) will gradually appear on Samsung's social media channels and is intended to bring the offline promotional tour to life online. The challenges will be moderated by Serranetgas blogger and social media expert Mirjam Herms. Samsung Switzerland has been the fastest growing Facebook page in this country in recent months, according to a press release.

Responsible at Samsung Switzerland: Dimitrj Egloff (project management). Responsible at Serranetga: Nicolas Hostettler (consulting), Stefanie Lang (art direction), Thomas Blumer (idea/concept), Mirjam Herms (content production/moderation), Julia Miller (design), Christos Margaris (motion design), Tobias Bühler (film/editing), Michel Nellen (photography), Martin Villiger (sound design).

Michael Sorg is the SP's new media spokesperson

The SP Switzerland has found a successor for its outgoing media director, Andreas Käsermann: During his studies, Michael Sorg served as a personal aide to SP National Council member Hans-Jürg Fehr, who was also SP president at the time.

Sorg, 32, studied history and political science in Bern. After completing his studies, he worked for the internet comparison service Comparis and has been head of its marketing department since 2010. Andreas Käsermann is leaving the SP Switzerland at the end of June. His resignation was for "purely personal reasons", as he explained in March. Käsermann joined the SP in 2008 as media officer. He previously worked as a journalist. (SDA)

New Internet portal of the Grisons museums

The Office of Culture of the Canton of Graubünden, together with the approximately 90 museums and cultural archives in the canton, has developed the consistent four-language portal Museen-graubuenden.ch and the guide "The Museums in the Canton of Graubünden".

The museums and cultural archives in the canton of Graubünden are presenting themselves for the first time on a joint Internet portal as of April 26, 2013. The aim was to present the 93 institutions in the canton together and thus draw attention to the great diversity. The visual approach of the museum portal Museums-graubuenden.ch is intended to be both playful and factual at the same time, according to the press release: The interactive Graubünden map allows a direct visit to each individual museum. The museums can also be displayed according to categories or regional criteria and a joker shows a new surprise museum with every click.

Each region is characterized in a short portrait, and each museum presents its main content and cultural features in words and pictures. This provides potential visitors from Switzerland and abroad with a comprehensive, compact and consistently designed overview of the individual museums. General visitor information (address, opening hours, admission prices) and news are also posted. In addition to the already established institutions, lesser-known museums and cultural archives will also be presented. The portal provides information in four languages (German, Romansh, Italian and English).

Responsible at the Office for Culture Graubünden: Barbara Gabrielli (overall project management), Armon Fontana (editing); Christof Kübler (subproject management). Responsible for implementation: Thomas Kaiser, Wortwert, Chur (text); Arbeitsgemeinschaft Norbert Riedi, Ramun Spescha, Chur (design/realization); Creative Consulting: Valentina Herrmann, Deep, Chur (technical implementation website); Übersetzungsdienst Standeskanzlei Graubünden, Lia Rumantscha, Paola Gianoli Tuena, Coppet, Tell IT Translations (translations); Panotours (panoramic images).

Press Council rejects complaint against Tages-Anzeiger

The Tages-Anzeiger did not violate journalistic guidelines in its coverage of alleged abuse at a monastery in Thurgau. The Press Council dismissed a complaint against a series of articles published last year.

From June to September 2012, the Tages-Anzeiger reported on serious allegations against a priest of the Fischingen monastery in five articles. A former student stated that he had been repeatedly beaten and sexually abused by the priest. An anonymous complainant felt that the reporting violated several points of the "Declaration of the Duties and Rights of Journalists." Among other things, he accused the newspaper of disseminating unconfirmed information without regard to the presumption of innocence.

It is true that the tone of the offending articles is sometimes accusatory and one-sided, writes the Press Council in its response. Nevertheless, it is clear to the reader that the facts of the case are disputed and that the accused has not been convicted. In addition, the accusation of abuse in a children's home is in the public interest.

Privacy violated

The Press Council rejected another complaint, at least in part. The weekly magazine L'Illustré in French-speaking Switzerland had been accused by the Vaud lawyers' association of having violated the presumption of innocence in its reporting on the arrest of a suspected pedophile. In addition, the magazine had disregarded the privacy of the accused. L'Illustré actually went too far with the publication of a passport photo as well as other details of the accused, as the Press Council notes. However, the panel did not see the presumption of innocence violated. (SDA)

Last but not least: Danish delicacies

When Coca-Cola discovered that the Danish flag was hidden in its own logo, it was high time for a round of free flags.

The "discovery" was made by the McCann agency in Copenhagen. A welcome coincidence, because according to official studies, Denmark has always been considered the country with the happiest inhabitants in the world. As Danes seem to traditionally pick up their loved ones at the airport waving flags, but rarely have flags with them, the idea was obvious. Free Danish flags from the Coca Cola dispenser for everyone. Simple effect, beautiful effect. Incidentally, with a few brushstrokes, the Swiss flag could also be created from the Coke logo - and would have the correct shade of red available from the outset (see below). (hae)

Quajou talk on the TV ratings debacle

Following its general meeting on Monday, the Quality in Journalism Association hosted a talk at the Ringier Media House on the timely topic «The Ratings Debacle: How Will the Swiss TV Advertising Market’s Blind Flight End?»

The panelists were Dominik Kaiser, Managing Director 3+ TV Network, Christof Kaufmann, CEO Aegis Media Group and Marco de Stoppani, Chairman of the Board of Directors Mediapulse. Hannes Britschgi, Ringier publicist, and Urs Bühler, NZZ editor, shared the chairmanship of the discussion.

Marco de Stoppani explained why a new measurement method had to be found in the first place. On the one hand, this was due to pressure from the market because the previous Telecontrol system was unable to measure certain things that were becoming increasingly important (e.g. time-shifted use, use on a PC); on the other hand, however, it was also because the previous Telecontrol measuring devices had reached the end of their life cycle. Following an international tender, Kantar was awarded the contract. A new panel was set up. The surveys began in December 2012. Publication was originally planned for the end of January. However, this was repeatedly postponed by decision of the Mediapulse Board of Directors. Finally, it was made completely impossible by a super-provisional ruling from 3+.

The chaos is complete: there have been no TV ratings since the beginning of the year. Although broadcasters and marketers receive them, they are not allowed to pass them on to their customers. For Christof Kaufmann, this is a "very unsatisfactory situation." With gallows humor, he said, "the special thing about the situation is that something is missing that we don't even know what it actually is." But the situation is also unpleasant for Dominik Kaiser, whose channel 3+ won the super-provisional injunction because he is convinced that there are many unresolved methodological inconsistencies: "We are the only channel in Switzerland that continuously adjusts its program to the ratings. Although we have access to figures today, we believe that these figures are based on false foundations and therefore we cannot optimize our programming."

What happens next? There is a long list of demands from 3+, but Goldbach Media has also submitted one. Mediapulse has to comment on this. Marco de Stoppani now wants to talk to all parties involved to find a solution that should resolve most of the contentious points satisfactorily. Whether and when this will happen remains to be seen. Hannes Britschgi only said laconically at the end. "We'll keep at it." And so are we. (pcm)

Michael Meyer from Diesel to Hipeak BTL

After seven years in the textile industry, Michael Meyer is switching sides. The former marketing and sales director at Diesel Switzerland is now a managing partner at the agency Hipeak BTL.

Meyer was previously Brand Manager at Bacardi and Event and BTL Manager at JT Internatonal (Camel/Winston). "I have been following Hipeak BTL's path for a long time and have already realized several projects with the team," said Michael Meyer in a statement. Michael Meyer joins Linus Eidenbenz, Daniel Rasumoswky and Philip Eggenberger as the fourth partner at the agency, which has also had a branch in Lausanne since the beginning of May. The agency will also be rebranded next August: Hipeak BTL will become Jeff. "The old name has a certain potential for confusion for historical reasons," says Meyer. Jeff stands for "Joint efforts" - together with the client, we are twice as strong. The name is bold, catchy and represents the agency perfectly. "Our aim is to become the leading BTL agency in Switzerland," says Meyer.

Joiz Germany: Presenter team complete

This summer, the social TV channel Joiz will launch in the German market, and the seven-member team of hosts has already been finalized. The popular shows «Living Room,» «Noiz,» and «Joizone» will also be broadcast in Germany.

joiz_Moderatoren_Deutschlan

Alexandra Maurer, who has already been a presenter for Joiz in Switzerland for two years, will in future host the live talk music format "Living Room" from Berlin (Werbewoche.ch reported).

Maurice Gajda clearly won the moderator online vote with over 21 percent and came out on top against 25 other candidates (Werbewoche.ch reported). The 29-year-old native of Magdeburg is a self-confessed music fan and hosted Radio Fritz in Berlin for years. Now he's taking the step into television in the "Living Room.

Melissa Khalaj is the third member of the "Living Room" team. The 23-year-old from Munich has already gained various TV experiences: In front of the camera at Popstars on Stage and the current Pro Sieben webshow "Etage 7" as well as behind the camera at the casting for "Austria's next Topmodel".

The 21-year-old Franconian Antonia Scheurlen has more of a radio background. As part of her training, she hosted and created six-hour live shows at Radio Energy Nuremberg, among other things. Now she's taking the plunge into TV and will be hosting the talk format "Joizone" starting in the summer.

Martin Tietjen, 27, will alternate hosting "Joizone" with Antonia Scheurlen. The Hamburg native knew very early on that he wanted to work in front of the camera. In 2007, he already gained his first experience as an actor in the TV soap "Gute Zeiten - Schlechte Zeiten". At NDR, he completed a traineeship and clearly discovered his passion for moderation.

Julia Krüger, a 22-year-old from Thuringia who lives in Hamburg, is in the final stages of her studies in media acting and rhetoric and will be hosting the news format "Noiz" at Joiz in Berlin in the future. She has already tested her talent and skills in commercials and worked at Antenne Thüringen and Kika in Erfurt.

Kevin Klose, 23, a native of Greifswald and Julia's Noiz sparring partner, is studying humanities in Mainz and has already gained relevant experience as part of the Internet late-night show "Absolut Video Show". Already as a teenager Kevin convinced as a young presenter on regional TV and radio.

"I'm really looking forward to working with each of them. The mix is right, and so we'll be launching with a strong team of presenters in Germany in the summer. Each of the seven not only brings talent and skill to the station, but will also bring their own unique character and style to the individual formats. With this team, we will present Joiz in Germany to our viewers at eye level and, together with our guests, create a fresh, new and transmedia platform," says Carsten Kollmus, Managing Director Joiz in Germany.

Two Swiss students win Oscars

Switzerland is celebrating a historic achievement with two winners of the 2013 Student Academy Award: Talkhon Hamzavi received the award for his short film «Parvaneh,» and Mauro Mueller for «Un mundo para Raúl.».

Two Swiss short fiction films are among the big winners of the 40th Student Academy Awards. "Parvaneh", the graduation film from the Zurich University of the Arts by Talkhon Hamzavi, is one of three winners in the "Foreign" category (Best Foreign Film). "Un mundo para Raúl" by Mauro Mueller, which was created as a graduation project at Columbia University in New York and co-produced by Contrast Film (Zurich), has been awarded in the "Narrative" category, in which there are also three winners.

Gold, silver or bronze?

The two filmmakers and their producers will find out on June 8 whether their films will take first (gold), second (silver) or third (bronze) place. The Student Oscars are awarded in five categories: "Alternative", "Animation", "Documentary", "Foreign" and "Narrative". The award brings further attention to the two works. The 24-minute "Parvaneh" has already won two awards and has been shown at around ten festivals; the 15-minute "Un mundo para Raúl" has already been invited to around 15 festivals and has received eight awards.

Historic success for the Swiss short film

For the first time ever, two Swiss works have won a Student Oscar in the same year. Director Talkon Hamzavi and director Mauro Mueller will travel to Los Angeles in early June to take part in the "Student Academy Awards Week", which precedes the awards ceremony on June 8, 2013. This will take place at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. So far, two Swiss have received the coveted trophy: Reto Caffi for "Auf der Strecke" in 2008 in the "Foreign" category and Michael Schaerer with "Warmth" in 2001 in the "Alternative" category.
