Serviceplan: Law firm breaks silence

Serviceplan was commissioned to develop a new website for the law firm Froriep, ensuring its communications strategy is ready for the future and clearly communicating its name change from Froriep Renggli to Froriep.

With an unusual measure for a law firm, Serviceplan manages to position the firm in a unique way: A banderole around the balance sheet and bilan announces: "Swiss law firm breaks your silence". The banderole leads directly to an ad in which Froriep points to its new website and introduces itself and its values. The photo of the ad was taken by Froriep partner Beat M. Barthold.

At the address Froriep.com visitors are guided through the clearly and attractively designed website using a question-and-answer format, familiarizing them with Froriep's positioning and values in a playful way. Further advertising measures will follow.

Responsible at Froriep: Sandra Lüttin (Head of Marketing & Communication). Responsible for conception and realization: Serviceplan Suisse.

Last but not least: Well-resolved end of the world

Ultra HD TVs have such high resolution that the image is almost indistinguishable from reality. LG is using this for a hidden-camera prank.

Slowly but surely, most people own a Full HD television. More and more TV channels are being offered in HD quality. Usually not true full HD, as we know it from Blue Rays, but limited to 720p. Anyone who still remembers the flickering CRT screens (and the associated problems such as signal interference) will appreciate today's crystal-clear picture quality all the more. And you might think: That's enough, we don't need any more.

We do need it - at least if the industry has its way. Because the next technological leap is just around the corner: Ultra High Definition. In two versions: 4k and 8k. While the former offers a resolution four times higher than today's full HD screens, 8k technology refines the image 16 times (7680 x 4320 pixels).

LG is one of the leading companies in dealing with the upcoming picture standard. As a result, it can't wait to bring the currently expensive devices to the masses. In order to demonstrate how realistic the high-resolution Ultra HD images look, the South Korean electronics manufacturer organized a hidden-camera fun event in Chile. Back in 2012, LG had already provided moments of cardiac arrest with a shocking joke and covered the floor of an elevator with screens (Last but not least reported). This time he invited people to an interview and replaced the office window with the first 84-inch Ultra HD TV. It remains to be seen whether you always have to scare the poor people like that. (hae)

Wirz Werbung: Gordon Nemitz new co-owner

Wirz is now becoming a bit more «owner-managed» on the advertising side: Following Thomas Städeli, Petra Dreyfus, and Philipp Skrabal, Executive Strategy Director Gordon Nemitz is also becoming a new co-shareholder of Wirz Werbung.

Since Wirz Partner Holding was founded 38 years ago, the management members of the individual Wirz companies have been able to participate in the Group and its success. In addition, three long-standing members of the management of Wirz Werbung also acquired shares in their agency last year. Gordon Nemitz, who has successfully managed strategic planning for the past five years, has now joined this exclusive circle of co-owners, according to a press release issued on Monday. Together, the management members and co-shareholders of Wirz Werbung now own 20 percent of the agency. The remaining 80 percent will remain in the hands of the holding company.

Gordon Nemitz came to Wirz via Jung von Matt in Hamburg and TBWA in Düsseldorf, where he has been responsible for the expansion of the planning department as Strategy Director since 2008. Today, it enjoys an excellent reputation both internally and externally as a source of inspiration and direction for successful campaigns. In addition, Nemitz and his team are increasingly providing independent strategic consulting services for clients of the entire Wirz Group.
Gordon Nemitz has been a member of the management of Wirz Werbung and a partner of the Wirz Group since 2011. He lectures at SAWI, HWZ and Texterschmiede in Hamburg, among others. He has also been a member of the Euro Effie jury and a board member of the Account Planning Group Switzerland for two years.

For Nemitz, the direct participation in Wirz Werbung represents additional motivation and recognition: "As co-owners, we can make a long-term commitment to our own well-positioned agency and take on even more entrepreneurial responsibility - a unique opportunity and challenge that only Wirz can offer in this form in this country."

Soon advertising with drug approval?

In the future, medicinal products approved by Swissmedic will be allowed to be advertised with slogans such as «medicinal product approved by the authorities.» On Monday, the Council of States approved a motion that would permit such advertising. The aim is to improve public information.

The fact that a medicine has been approved by the Swissmedic Agency for Therapeutic Products is a sign of "high quality and safety" in the view of the mover of the motion, Joachim Eder (FDP/ZG). The distributors of the products should therefore also be able to use such a quality seal in their advertising. The label would also make it easier for consumers to distinguish between medicinal products, food supplements and medical devices. Health Minister Alain Berset supported the demand on behalf of the Federal Council. However, he said that he wanted to ensure that the implementation of the proposal did not create false expectations among consumers with regard to its effects. The proposal will now go to the National Council. (SDA)

Ringier vs. Meyer: Blunder at Blick

Following an internal dispute, Federal Parliament correspondent Henry Habegger must leave *Blick* effective immediately. Frank A. Meyer is furious, as the decision was made against his will.

As reported by the newspapers NZZ am Sonntag and Schweiz am Sonntag, long-time Federal Palace journalist Henry Habegger was released from his duties with immediate effect on Friday Namittag. With this, publisher Michael Ringier surprisingly decided against the will of Frank A. Meyer and angered him accordingly. Ringier is talking about a "revolution", writes the NZZ am Sonntag, because the decision has an impact on the political orientation of Blick. Questions on which Meyer normally has the last word.

The dismissal was preceded by a conflict between Habegger and Andreas Kunz, who has been deputy head of the politics department since the beginning of August. Kunz, who previously worked for Weltwoche, was brought in by former interim editor-in-chief Andrea Bleicher. Habegger, who has been reporting from the Federal Parliament for Blick since 2004 with a close affinity to the SP (and thus to Meyer's taste) and has worked for Ringier since 1998, fell out with Kunz after the latter had written a commentary on Federal Councillor Widmer-Schlumpf. Habegger's analysis on the topic, on the other hand, was not printed.

Habegger then openly opposed Kunz and the Blick management in an e-mail. In response, Kunz handed in his notice two weeks ago - while still on probation - but then went on to write the highly acclaimed series of articles on the "Carlos" case. The two journalists had already clashed in the past, when Kunz accused Habegger in Weltwoche of deliberately influencing Christoph Blocher's expulsion from the Federal Council.

Florian Fels, head of Ringier's publishing department, finally informed Habegger that he had to leave the media company. The personnel decision was also discussed with publisher Michael Ringier. Kunz, on the other hand, is to be persuaded to withdraw his resignation.
Frank A. Meyer is said to have campaigned "vehemently" for his ally Habegger - without success. Michael Ringier taking a stand against Meyer is a novelty and, according to a Blick journalist quoted in the NZZ am Sonntag, has "never happened before since the two have been friends". The media company expects that Meyer will not accept the defeat and that those responsible will feel the displeasure in the form of a "tit-for-tat". (hae/NZZaS/SaS)

"We want to develop in the direction of the magazine"

The NZZ am Sonntag realizes a comprehensive relaunch with the issue of September 8. It offers new content, new columns and a new design. The society section now appears in tabloid format.

"In recent years, the daily newspapers have increasingly aligned themselves with the weeklies," Felix E. Müller, editor-in-chief of NZZ am Sonntag, said in a statement. In addition, he said, the Sunday press is also becoming more and more similar. This is one of the reasons why NZZ am Sonntag has been regularly innovating and changing since its launch 11 years ago. "In terms of content and form, we want to develop more in the direction of a magazine," Müller continues.

The NZZ am Sonntag is to become lighter and airier, thanks among other things to a newly developed font used for the first time worldwide, the use of larger images and additional white space. In the future, the individual alliances will stand out more strongly from one another, and individual topics will be given greater weight and additionally expanded. For example, the background and opinion bundle will be extended by two pages, providing additional depth. "New columns by well-known authors also guarantee a greater variety of topics and opinions," says Müller. The new magazine elements are most evident in the society section, which now appears in tabloid format.

"We are convinced that these measures will enable us to consolidate our premium position in the market and also offer advertisers a very attractive platform with our demanding readership with high purchasing power," says Stefan Bai, Head of Advertising Market at NZZ.
