Last but not least: Organizational charts and people

Is your boss holding you back?

Are you just the clown, the introvert, the slow turtle or the fat whale to him? Is he deliberately turning your job into a shark tank? Or is he deliberately isolating you from the team?

In powerful images, the Brazilian agency Escala, commissioned by the Ministry of Labor, shows how superiors can make working life difficult for their employees by respecting the organizational chart above all - and what they are not allowed to do.(sis)

Gullotti praises crisis communication of Lufthansa

The airline has been praised by Franco Gullotti, the former Swiss press spokesperson, for its response to the Germanwings crash.

"Until now, Lufthansa has been a good example in all respects, almost a school example," says Gullotti in an interview with Handelszeitung. Gullotti used to work for Swiss (a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group). Lufthansa has not taken part in speculation, communicated quickly and transparently and addressed all the groups involved.

Gullotti, who now works as a consultant, communicated the Crossair crash in Bassersdorf in 2001 with 24 fatalities. "Of course you can't compare an event like that," he says. "But I still remember how central and challenging it was to deal with the relatives."

As a press spokesperson, you play through crisis situations. "What you can't practise is empathy with the relatives and those affected and also with the employees," says Gullotti. After the Germanwings accident, Lufthansa CEO Spor effectively expressed his trust in the pilots and showed a lot of emotion.

Butcher Rottmann Bürge establishes contacts for Aduno

On behalf of Aduno, the Swiss full-service provider of cashless payment solutions, the agency developed a mailing strategy designed to target new customers.

For example, for restaurants, cafés and bars, where guests particularly like to pay with a debit or credit card: Under the communicative guiding idea of the "Dream Team" for satisfied guests, a mailing was realized that dramatizes the advantages of working with Aduno.

The mailings serve as initial contact and function as door-opener for further measures. According to the press release, the very high response rates and deals with new customers show that the strategy of generating enthusiasm among potential new customers is working.

"KSP is newly certified medium green"

On April 1, 2015, KSP turned 11—and published its first sustainability report to mark the occasion.

The agency started on the color scale of red - orange - yellow - light green - medium green - dark green at yellow. Today, the agency is very proud of its "certified medium green". This is how the 11-year celebration with the motto "KSP is newly certified medium green" came about. "With this, we are and remain far ahead of our industry and especially the big agencies in terms of sustainability," says Daniel Krieg, CEO of KSP.

KSP has been CO2 neutral since 2013. This year, among other things, the agency established a fund that is endowed annually with 2 percent of annual sales. With these funds, the agency supports sustainable projects internally and externally that appear particularly worthy of support. Since the same year, KSP has owned a VW e-up, with its own electric charging station directly in front of the agency's headquarters at 367 Seestrasse. In addition, the agency has been carbon neutral with Myclimate since 2013. Specifically, 30 families in the state of Karnataka in southern India have received a biogas plant - a simple source of energy for cooking that simultaneously reduces greenhouse gases and reduces deforestation.

The agency also underwent a rigorous sustainability audit in 2013. Since then, it has been working to become "proven & transparently sustainable" with external monitoring and to improve its rating in a total of nine fields of action, Krieg summarizes the sustainability reporting at the 11th anniversary celebration. This includes, for example, a waste reduction of more than 50 percent. The first KSP sustainability report in short form is already available at Facebook viewable.

Practical life help instead of classic advertising

In the coming days, JWT/Fabrikant is launching a large-scale Mazda campaign that features an unconventional format: before each SRF weather report, a spot shows how to break conventions to improve everyday life.

From quickly folding a T-shirt, to preparing hard-boiled ice cream in the shape of a heart, or uncorking a wine bottle without a bottle opener, to properly cutting a mango - "life hacks by Mazda" is more than just advertising. The campaign offers practical life help on TV every day and illustrates the brand philosophy.

From April to December (interrupted by a short break in the summer months of June, July and August) Mazda will show the spots on the stations RTS Un, RSI La 1, SRF1 and SRF Info, announces a statement on Thursday. In each case eight seconds before and four seconds after the meteo Mazda as a sponsor makes it possible to experience what characterizes the brand as a corporate philosophy: Its very own history, its very own technology and its very own approach to things.

In addition to breaking with convention in terms of content, there is also a formal aspect: Instead of using one commercial, as is usual with sponsorship formats, the Mazda campaign uses no less than forty different films. The aim is to show viewers that they, too, have an infinite number of ways to break conventions, to do things better every day, and to make their lives more beautiful and easier.

The starting point of the accompanying campaign in social media is the microsite Mazda.ch/lifehacks (online from April 2, 2015), which was realized with the support of the online agency dotpulse from Zurich. Here, all spots will gradually be put online.

The overall campaign is divided into two parts. In the first phase, Mazda will exclusively present the life hacks. In the second phase, which is scheduled to begin on April 22, users will have the opportunity to actively participate, uploading their own life hacks and taking part in a competition. Nothing has been revealed yet about the main prize. However, it is in line with Mazda's characteristic philosophy of questioning everything in order to find better solutions, according to the release.

Swisscom launches brand for digitally affine customers

To better cater to its growing customer base of tech-savvy individuals, Swisscom is launching Wingo, a brand that offers a streamlined, standalone service tailored to their needs.

Digitally affine, mostly younger, urban people have clear expectations of their telecommunications provider and deliberately forgo extras and distinctive service. According to the announcement, Wingo is designed to offer customers the best performance at a reasonable price, thus supporting customer growth at Swisscom.

The ICT market has changed dramatically in recent years and is increasingly permeating our everyday lives. As the market has matured, customers' wishes have also become more complex. The changed environment requires providers to differentiate themselves more strongly in the market and to address the needs of the various customer groups even more precisely.

Wingo primarily targets young, urban customers

"With Wingo, we are targeting digitally affine, urban customers that we have not reached sufficiently as Swisscom in the past. Thanks to reduced service, very simple offers and a low price, we will win new customers," says Swisscom Marc Werner, Head of Swisscom Residential Customer Business, of the new offering. The Wingo brand reduces the offer to the essentials. It will only be available online to address customers, take out subscriptions and receive support. In this way, Wingo is targeting the needs of private customers who are already well versed in the digital world and who consciously want to do without services.

Unbenannt-5_69

Wingo is focusing on subscriptions specifically geared to the target group. The fixed-network offering will only be available in those areas where fiber has already been laid to customers' homes. This will reduce technical complexity. As Swisscom's usual services, such as stores and free hotlines, are also dispensed with, Wingo can offer very low-cost products.

With Wingo, Swisscom aims to address residential customers who could not previously be reached with Swisscom's offering. For this reason, Swisscom expects to be able to maintain or expand its market share and revenues in the future with the help of Wingo, despite strong competition and simultaneous price erosion in the telecommunications market. Wingo is available on the market with its offer as of today.

Mediapulse: Radio research developed further

Mediapulse has further developed the measurement system for Swiss radio usage and provides more precise measurement data. Thanks to additional tools, the system recognizes all synchronous broadcasts and cleans them up immediately.

Together with supplier GfK and a committee of client representatives, Mediapulse has been intensively developing the Mediapulse Radiopanel in recent months. The pleasing result: From 2015, users will have access to even more precise data on radio usage.

Thanks to further development, the measurement system resolves synchronous broadcasts for all stations directly during data processing, according to a statement. As soon as two or more radio stations broadcast the same sound, a permanent comparison of all radio stations with each other immediately detects this. In these sequences, an additional plausibility check is then carried out to ensure correct station assignment. This solution has been directly effective in the system since January 1, 2015 and ensures the flawless handling of longer synchronous sequences for all stations.

As part of the further development, the technical implementation of the so-called transmitter families was also improved. These measures supplement the existing system with an effective tool for accurate measurement and thus ensure the quality of the data.
