Last but not least: A little greeting to the top

So that Dad could read the message from his daughter Stephanie from space, Hyundai created the largest tire-track image ever.

Stephanie from Houston misses her father because she rarely sees him. He spends most of his time working in space in the service of humanity (or at least Nasa). A story that Americans probably love. The South Koreans probably thought so too and created the ambient spot "A Message to Space" for the USA with a big trowel. And presumably with a big budget. Great distances require great deeds. Eleven Hyundai Genesis used their tires and GPS to draw an oversized handwritten message in a salt lake. So big that father could see and photograph it from space. That was actually it. The largest tire track image was 5.5 square kilometers in size. It was enough for the Guinness Book of Records. And for five and a half million viewers on YouTube in ten days. (hae)

Frontwork: Lettering Rehaklinik Bellikon

The Bellikon rehabilitation clinic is moving into a temporary facility. The signage shows how flexible, simple and economical signage can be.

The Rehaklinik Bellikon is a special clinic of Suva for rehabilitation after accidents. For the next two years, the clinic has moved into a temporary facility in Dättwil. The new environment is complex and requires clear information and orientation systems. Since it is a provisional facility, the signaling is only needed temporarily. Frontwork has therefore developed some innovative solutions that combine quality and cost efficiency. These include destination guides and signposts made of satin-finished acrylic glass, cut-out signs and direct lettering on glass, wall painting using stencil technology, and outdoor steles made of aluminum dibond. With this project, Frontwork was able to offer the client an individual and cost-effective solution for the signaling at the Dättwil temporary facility.

Manuel I. Böschenstein (advertising technology) is responsible for the production at Frontwork, Neuzeichen, Kommunikation- und Orientierungs-design is responsible for the signage concept.

Rod gives wings to Mini convertible

To boost sales of the Mini Cabrio, a promotional campaign has been underway since early March in partnership with Swiss. To mark the occasion, Rod has given the Cabrio a pair of wings.

When you buy a new Mini Cabrio, you get a Swiss voucher worth 1000 francs. Rod's idea: deceptively real wings of an airplane were mounted on a Mini convertible. The unusual vehicle was used at Geneva Airport during the opening of the Geneva Motor Show. The Mini Convertible with the wings also attracted a lot of attention at Zurich Airport at the beginning of April. The promotional tour ended over Easter at the Fox Town Factory Stores in Mendrisio.

Help for children from families with addiction problems

With the cross-media awareness campaign «When Mom or Dad Drinks,» created by Cactus, the St. Gallen Addiction Center is drawing attention to the support services it offers to children and adolescents from families affected by addiction.

One thing is certain: those affected urgently need to overcome the wall of silence. Because when fathers or mothers become addicted to alcohol, sooner or later the entire family life is shaken. Children and young people with an alcoholic parent have a hard time. Anyone who believes that those directly affected in this country can almost always count on outside support is unfortunately wrong. The reasons for the misery are often quite banal: Many counseling and support services are primarily geared towards the person addicted to addictive substances. As a result, the welfare of the children takes a back seat. In the St.Gallen region, the non-profit organization Suchtfachstelle St. Gallen, which is supported by the city and surrounding municipalities, is therefore committed to ensuring that children and young people are not simply left behind.

Cactus_Kinder1

A central element of the catalog of measures is the "When Dad or Mum drinks" awareness campaign designed by Cactus. This is intended to help raise awareness of this taboo subject among the general public. The urgent appeal to break through the wall of silence can be seen on F4 and bus posters as well as in print ads and cinema commercials. This is accompanied by various information materials aimed directly at schools, doctors' surgeries and clubs.

Valencia is on the trail of nature for Coop

Coop’s new collection campaign is turning into a nature experience. To promote the «Adventure in Nature» campaign, Valencia Kommunikation is relying entirely on the power of Switzerland’s flora and fauna.

In cooperation with WWF Switzerland, Coop invites you to discover the Swiss flora and fauna with 128 game and special cards as well as the large scrapbook. Valencia Kommunikation was allowed to design the campaign for this. "Swiss nature is particularly fascinating. It was therefore important to us to put the animals and plants at the center of our communication," says Valencia CEO Michael Gerber. Accordingly, the campaign's key visual also shows a whole range of animals: from lynx and brown bear to dormouse and salamander.

Animals are also the stars in the accompanying TV commercial. "Naturally, nature was also to play the leading role in the TV spot," adds Valencia CD Tommy Schilling, "which proved to be a particular challenge." Working closely with the WWF, care was taken to ensure that the species featured were Swiss. Says Gerber, "As a sustainability-oriented agency, it was a pleasure to work with one of the world's largest conservation organizations." The result is a fairy-tale spot in which a girl with the trading cards dives into an impressive natural world full of adventure.

In the "Adventure Nature" campaign, 128 playing cards can be collected, including special scent, luminous or thermal cards. Each card is dedicated to a Swiss animal species or plant and offers various game options such as quartet, domino or "Who am I?". The cards are complemented by a rich collection album in which the cards can be inserted. For the first time, the collected cards can also be managed through the special app, where there are more games, craft instructions, short films and much more to discover.

Last but not least: love in the subway

A Brazilian man went viral on Facebook with a photo of two women hugging and an indignant caption.

When a young politician is not outraged by the fact that she has to take a blood sample like everyone else after a positive breath test ("...like a convict. Unbelievable! I'm shocked ☹")...

...intelligent things are sometimes posted on Facebook. It's rare, but it happens.

smiley

A few days ago, for example, the Nelson Felippe - a Brazilian John Doe whose profile photo was liked by 12 friends - achieved almost 19'000 likes with a single post. The supposedly intolerant rant was also shared over 6'500 times.

Unbenannt-3_55

If you do not know Portuguese, here is an approximate translation of the text:

I have no prejudices, I think that everyone should live his life as he wants. But I find it absurd that I am forced to witness such a scene.

What people do in private is their business. But yes, what they do in public space concerns me. And I refuse to call such a scene normal.

They challenge social conventions and that can be dangerous. What if a child saw this scene every day? It would assume it's normal to wait for the subway on the yellow line. So, don't act like that guy there. Follow the ladies' example. Wait behind the yellow line and cross it only when the train has stopped and the doors are open.

The posting made waves, sparking discussions in the Brazilian media about tolerance toward homosexuals and spreading through high-reach blogs such as Boredpanda.com all over the world. The only fly in the ointment is that Felippe is used by a user named Dudley Barbosa accused of copying the text and image from him without giving him credits. If that were true, it would be the lowest drawer. So the same drawer region in which intolerance is also located. And driving a car with over 0.5 per mille of alcohol in the blood. (hae)

Radio 1 launches burnout guidebook

Radio 1 and the Seeklinik Brunnen launch the new weekly advice format "Work-Life-Balancer". Every Friday morning at just after half past nine, Radio 1 broadcasts important tips on how to prevent burnout or recognize depression.

From now on, presenter Dani Wüthrich will discuss current topics relating to physical and mental health with a specialist from the Seeklinik Brunnen in the "Morning Show" on Radio 1 every Friday at 9:35 am. With the new format, Radio 1 and the Seeklinik Brunnen want to help listeners prevent burnout or depression and take control of their own work-life balance, according to a statement.

Depressive disorders are among the most common and, in terms of their severity, the most underestimated illnesses. According to estimates, around 350 million people worldwide now suffer from depression. By 2020, depression or affective disorders will be the second most common widespread disease, according to the World Health Organization. Two-thirds of these disorders remain untreated. The need for treatment of burnout in particular, as a special form of depression, has increased massively. The few specialized facilities in Switzerland have long waiting lists. Women are affected about two to three times more often than men.

As a clinic for integrative medicine, the Seeklinik Brunnen specializes in treating mental illnesses such as burnout, depression and sleep disorders. "With Radio 1, we reach an interested audience in Switzerland's most important business location. Radio 1's claim to offer high-quality radio entertainment coincides with our claim to quality and customer orientation" explains André Sidler, Head of Marketing and Communications, Seeklinik Brunnen. Through the partnership with Seeklinik Brunnen, Radio 1 is further expanding its expertise in reporting on health-related topics. "The Seeklinik Brunnen has proven professionals in topics such as psychosomatics, psychiatry and sleep medicine, who can explain complicated issues to listeners in a simple, understandable and competent manner and impart valuable knowledge," says Editor-in-Chief Oli Dischoe. The kick-off show for the new "Work-Life-Balancer" was broadcast on Friday, April 10 on Radio 1 and is also available for download as a podcast on iTunes as well as on the websites of Radio 1 and the Seeklinik Brunnen.

SO Appenzeller cheese combines "real," traditional craftsmanship with good advertising. Authenticity is more important than ever. For whom is this relevant? Prof. Dr. Felicitas Morhart, University of Lausanne, provides the latest insights into the authenticity hype in brand management on June 18, 2015 at The Dolder Grand Zurich.
