Inhalt&Form expands content marketing and postproduction

With the addition of Calvin Kröhne and Stefan Bucher, the digital department at Inhalt&Form is gaining two more experts.

In the age of the change from marketing push to marketing pull, digital departments of communications agencies are challenged. And therefore also the competence in the content as well as in the IT area. The credo is to develop media-independent ideas and content that can be played on all advertising measures, channels, and devices, thus creating a coherent whole.

Calvin_Kroehne_sw

Calvin Kröhne, specialist for content marketing and online PR ensures that campaigns in the social channels with relevant content, at the right place, meet the right people and thus generate cross-media added value for brands.

Stefan_Bucher

Stefan Bucher - IT professional and postproduction specialist - expands the communications agency's expertise in the field of advertising automation, in-store TV solutions and data analytics. Bucher, (studied IT Service Engineering, Technical Manager Condor Films) built up Inhalt&Form's postproduction department last year. With this department, the agency responds to the digitalization of communication media and is able to create animations and film productions independently, quickly and in high quality. As the only Swiss full-service agency, Inhalt&Form thus has a professional postproduction department that significantly simplifies the process of creating animations and film projects for clients.

The interdisciplinary team led by Kristian Brändle is thus optimally positioned for the advancing digitalization of communication, according to the press release.

"Sharing economy" ends on Swiss doorsteps

The Swiss are not prepared to share their home with strangers. This was the result of a representative study conducted by Homegate.ch. The survey looked specifically at the use of the community marketplace Airbnb for booking and renting out accommodation.

The majority of respondents across Switzerland cannot imagine renting out their own accommodation via the portal.

61.5 percent of the Swiss are completely satisfied with their living situation, with 19 percent of the German-speaking Swiss stating that they live in their absolute dream home. However, the Swiss do not like to share their living space. With regard to the use of Airbnb, Homegate.ch found that over 60 percent clearly disapprove of renting out their own four walls to vacation guests. Among the reasons for this rejection, the unwillingness to let strangers into their own four walls ranked first (66.6 percent DCH / 46.2 percent FCH). In second place, lack of space was cited as the main obstacle (30.7% DCH / 32.8% FCH). The additional contribution to their own rental costs resulting from subletting does not appear to be an incentive either, as 74% of Swiss people consider the amount of their rent to be justified.

New York, Paris, Berlin

The Swiss are also extremely reluctant to use Airbnb for their own vacation rentals. This is despite the fact that around 52% of respondents in Switzerland are very familiar with the portal. It is striking that Airbnb is hardly known, especially in Ticino: Only 14.5 percent of people in Ticino say they have heard of it. Across Switzerland as a whole, only around 5 percent of respondents have already booked accommodation through Airbnb and had a good experience with it. The good price/performance ratio for attractive properties from friendly landlords is particularly appreciated. Among the overnight stays booked via Airbnb, New York, Paris and Berlin are very popular. "Despite the global trend towards the sharing economy, a different mentality seems to prevail here in Switzerland when it comes to privacy," says Daniel Bruckhoff, media spokesperson for Homegate.ch.

About the Homegate.ch theme study May 2015

Method: Online survey in the representative Tamedia panels managed by LINK in German- and French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino
Population: 15-74-year-olds who use the Internet at least once a week.

Agency at the airport: Ambient action at Lake Constance for Coop Bau+Hobby

At the Arbon Lake Night Festival, an agency at the airport invited over 1,000 fireworks spectators to take a seat on behalf of Coop Bau+Hobby.

Year after year, crowds make a pilgrimage to the Arboner Seenachtsfest. This was also the case the Saturday before last. To raise the profile of Coop Bau+Hobby in Arbon, they took advantage of the crowds and spontaneously distributed over 1000 branded camping chairs to visitors to the event on one of the hottest days of the summer. There were also two vouchers that could only be redeemed at the Arbon sales outlet. The ambient campaign was conceived and organized by the agency at the airport, which is also based at Lake Constance.

Branders: New digital presence for Kindli

Branders has created a new digital identity for the Kindli Hotel and Restaurant. The redesigned website combines the establishment’s tradition and spirit with the latest technological advancements.

As early as 1474, the Haus zum Kindli at Pfalzgasse 1 in Zurich welcomed its first pilgrims, who attended the annual processions at the Lindenhof on Pentecost. Since then, the doors of the Kindli have been open to guests from all over the world.

Last but not least: plagiarism from the underworld

About a week ago, a foreign editor in Weltwoche reported on a new book by historian Antony Beevor. As it turned out, the editor not only made use of the preliminary work of a British newspaper, but also plagiarized a telephone conversation.

The historian Beevor has in his book the war crimes during the last offensive battle of the German troops in the Ardennes in the winter of 1944/45, as the NZZ am Sonntag writes. The author thus sparked a debate about war crimes committed by American soldiers as well, it said. Urs Gehringer wrote in his article "Lotse in der Unterwelt" (Pilot in the Underworld) the author had "sleepless nights" and had described his troubles with the historical material to him on the phone.

Six weeks earlier, according to NZZ am Sonntag, an article about Beevor's book appeared in the British newspaper Telegraph, which begins with this sentence and shows strikingly many other similarities of this kind. Thus one finds the entire description of Beevor about his handling of the terrible historical facts and how they nevertheless catch up with him, also in the Telegraph. The only difference with the Weltwoche article: The Telegraph's conversation does not take place by telephone, but in Beevor's London home, as the NZZ am Sonntag writes. Gehringer had taken over whole text sections word for word for his Weltwoche article.

And what does British editor Keith Lowe have to say about it? "If someone found my article so irresistible that they wanted to copy large parts of it - well, that's the highest form of praise. A somewhat indecent one, to be sure, but still praise." (This quote was indecently taken directly from the well-researched NZZ am Sonntag article - a telephone conversation between Lowe and Werbewoche did not take place). (uma)

The world as a guest in Zurich

People from 195 countries live in Switzerland. This remarkable fact inspired advertising filmmaker and photographer Reiner Roduner to launch his Switzers project.

From June 30 to September 6, all 195 portraits can be seen at an open-air photo exhibition in Zurich. The photograph of an Ethiopian taken by Reiner Roduner four years ago marks the beginning of Switzer's work. The image of the radiant face never let go of the filmmaker and photographer, and when he learned that people from no fewer than 195 countries live in Switzerland, he decided to get a representative of each of these nations in front of the camera and make the portraits accessible to the public.

sommerfestival_switzers

All the nations represented here in Switzerland were portrayed and interviewed by director Paul Riniker during 12 shoots in Zurich and Geneva. The team also includes cameraman and photographer Roland Schmid, make-up artist Bea Petri, owner of Schminkbar, and her daughter and co-owner Kim Petri.

"Sensational!"

As part of the Zurich summer festival "Aufsehen!", Switzers wants to manifest the unity of people of all nationalities and promote respect and mutual esteem. The photos, some of which are up to 10 meters tall, can be seen at Zurich main station, in ShopVille and throughout Europaallee. In addition to the photos, the exhibition also contains many statements
of the protagonists. For example, Khaldoun from Lebanon says: "No matter where, we are all just visiting this earth. Maybe you'll be born in Africa in your next life." Or Maria Soledad from Uruguay, who says: "I was here for two months when I heard the sound of the alphorn - and I cried. From then on, Switzerland was in my heart." Remko from the Netherlands is certain: "The Swiss could certainly do with a good shot of Dutch directness."

Switzers is to be continued after the summer festival: A book is planned, and a mobile exhibition with 200 illuminated panels will go on tour in interested Swiss cities.

Concordia continues to run ads on SRF Meteo. What's new, however, is the content.

The slogan "Dir vertraue ich" ("I trust you") takes center stage emotionally. The four seasonally coordinated TV spots were produced by the creative and film team of the Lucerne-based Feldervogel communications agency. The spots were produced completely in-house for the first time. Further spots, for example for Concordia's customer magazine Care, will follow soon.
