Züriplus is now called "Tele Z

On November 2, 2015, the regional television station Züriplus changes its name and is now called Tele Z. After 13 years, a new name, a new logo and a new on-air design will ensure a fresh appearance.

According to a statement, Züriplus has been toying with the idea of a name change for some time, primarily to integrate the hitherto missing "Tele" into the name without giving up the direct reference to the home region. With its new appearance, Tele Z presents itself as an independent broadcaster and establishes a visible connection to the canton of Zurich. The new appearance is intended to ensure good recognition among viewers through a simple word mark with a clear design language and good readability. "Finding the name turned out to be more complex than expected, because many URL addresses with the addition of "Tele" were already in use or occupied," says Managing Director and Program Director, Peter Steinmann. "The entire design looks more modern, smart and also fits in perfectly with the current, gradual expansion of our program," says Steinmann.

Despite the new name and logo, nothing will change for viewers as a result of this change. The distribution as well as the broadcasting position with the various cable network operators remains unchanged. The station name will be changed today or in the next few weeks everywhere. "For better recognition for our viewers, we will draw attention to the new name Tele Z on the channel in the coming weeks with special jingles and changing channel logos," explains Peter Steinmann.

YCA 2015: Submission deadline extended

Good news for those on short notice, ADC Switzerland is extending the submission deadline for the Young Creatives Award 2015 by one week, until November 9.

"We know how demanding and time-consuming it is to balance a job or education and the extra effort for this competition," said Gioia Bozzato, executive director of ADC. The competition is the most important of its kind. The winning teams will represent Switzerland at the Young Lions Competition 2016 in Cannes - so it may well be worth uploading a flash or two. Everything you need to know, including the Mobiliar briefing, can be found online at Adc.ch. Werbewoche is the media partner of the competition.

Last but not least: Poster exhumed

To demonstrate how consistent its pricing is, Migros in Turkey has breathed new life into old posters.

Migros Türk is the largest supermarket chain in Turkey, but no longer has anything to do with the former Swiss parent company and is now owned by a British holding company. What has remained is the logo, which corresponds to that of Swiss Migros from the 1980s (except for the i-dot to distinguish it). Migros founded the subsidiary in 1954, but released it into independence in 1974 - with permission to continue using the Migros name and features.

To demonstrate that Migros Türk does not adjust its prices upwards despite the high rate of inflation, McCann Istanbul provided very comprehensible and eye-catching proof: At poster sites, the stacked posters were torn open to reveal last year's subjects with last year's prices. In combination with the words "last year's prices" on the new posters, this was a pretty effective way of communicating that you're not just talking, you're right. A good idea, which McCann already had for Univeral Music in Denmark. But within the agency group, you can let yourself be inspired with a clear conscience. (hae)

Renzen: Fresh-faced appearance for Spross

"Your hedge has a funny haircut!". With this and many other fresh-cheeky slogans, Spross Garten- und Landschaftsbau is currently advertising a wide range of autumnal services in the Zurich area.

The broad-based typo campaign by the Renzen agency is intended to position the traditional company Spross as a friendly, customer-oriented, flexible service provider that also offers the right solution for smaller, private gardens at an attractive price. After all, "No garden is too small to be a Spross garden". The typo concept makes it possible to play with very different messages in a way that is appropriate to the media and the target group, taking into account factors such as seasonality (autumn, Halloween) and location (public transport advertising on the Gold Coast and "Pfnüsel Coast"). In addition to advertisements, hanging boxes in Zurich's regional transport system and web banners on selected online platforms will be used. A further wave of posters, mailings and guerrilla measures is planned for spring 2016.

VBZ: Clear Channel largely replaces APG as marketer

The Zurich Public Transportation Authority (VBZ) has put the marketing of its billboard spaces out to bid again. This will result in additional revenue of 5.5 million francs per year. Most of the 1,200 billboard spaces will now be marketed by Clear Channel.

VBZ put the marketing of its billboard sites out to tender again this summer. The bidding competition, which was conducted in accordance with the rules of public procurement, will lead to a significant improvement in revenue from the previous 5.5 million to 11 million Swiss francs per year from 2017, according to a statement. The reason for this lies in the demand-oriented conception of the tender as well as in the resulting, significantly higher levy rates and guarantee sums of the providers. The additional funds will fully benefit public transport and the partners involved. They flow to the Zurich Transport Association (ZVV) via the VBZ invoice. This relieves the ZVV's budget, which ultimately benefits both public transport customers and taxpayers.

New: Clear Channel instead of APG

Most of the approximately 1,200 poster sites will now be marketed by Clear Channel. The Allgemeine Plakatgesellschaft APG, which previously managed the majority of the poster sites for VBZ, will only take over a small part of the existing offering. No additional poster sites were created for the tender. New advertising spaces will be added at most in the event of conversions or new stops. According to the statement, the primary challenge for VBZ was to divide the illuminated poster network, which has an above-average number of sites compared to the rest of Switzerland, into sensible lots in such a way that both the needs of the marketers and those of the advertisers could be satisfied. Only this allowed VBZ to achieve a maximum yield within the framework of the new tender. Previously, poster sites had generally been offered on the basis of geographical or random allocation. The new regime includes six lots each for "branding" and "coverage" and allows marketers to sell advertising across the city regardless of the number of lots won. The branding lots include a strong selective presence in very high-traffic select locations, while the coverage lots reinforce a blanket presence throughout the city via individual locations. Clear Channel submitted the highest bid for the majority of the lots and was thus awarded the contract for them.

Clear Channel is pleased with the award and considers VBZ's invitation to tender in lots to be "very positive". The fact that participation was open to all providers enabled greater competition between the suppliers, Clear Channel said in a statement. Jürg Rötheli, Vice President Central Europe and CEO Clear Channel Switzerland: "After winning the tender for the digital screens and the illuminated turnstiles of the city of Zurich, this is another milestone in the realization of our strategy to offer our customers the most attractive and customized advertising solutions."

APG regrets decision

In a statement sent out on Monday, APG regrets the end of the long-standing cooperation with VBZ. Markus Ehrle, CEO of APG|SGA, said: "We would have liked to continue our long-standing partnership with VBZ on economic terms and regret VBZ's decision. From an economic point of view, we were not prepared to pay any price. Quite obviously and for us completely incomprehensibly, our competitor has made an offer that is higher than our current effective sales." However, the poster company emphasizes that it is still the market leader in the city of Zurich despite the reduction in space. (pd/hae)

Ogilvy: Tighter communications presence for Vulkan restaurant

To raise awareness of the Indian restaurant Vulkan beyond the reach of word-of-mouth and thereby attract more diners even during previously less busy times, Ogilvy & Mather has created a campaign with a special twist.

Based on what is probably the most famous Indian book - the Kama Sutra - the campaign addresses a basic human need that is particularly receptive to external stimuli: The desire to enjoy. Illustrations in the style of the Kama Sutra show a couple in a clearly unconventional position. But not as it might seem at first glance with you-know-what. But not, as it might seem at first glance, in a "you-know-what" position, but rather chastely enjoying Indian dishes, while the headline picks up on this unambiguous ambiguity and thus unambiguously whets the appetite for spicy food from India.

The Brazilian illustration studio A-toon Ilustração e Design LTDA was responsible in the truest sense of the word for the illustrations, which on the one hand do credit to the original illustrations of the Kamasutra, but at the same time should be as demure as befits the Zwinglistadt.

Campaign against sexist advertising launched

Terre des Femmes plans to launch a campaign against sexist advertising. The organization states that gender-discriminatory images are particularly harmful to women. Possible consequences include eating disorders, body shame, or depression.

When women are constantly portrayed on posters and television as addicted to shopping or lacking technical skills, this has a lasting impact on society's image of women, writes Terre des Femmes in a communiqué on Monday. This is because advertising has a subtle effect. The images that hit us daily in the media and in advertising demonstrably construct and reinforce gender stereotypes. Prejudices about the role of women and men in the family and society are thus perpetuated. Sexist advertising also has numerous negative effects. According to the organization, these range from notorious body scrutiny and eating disorders to a shortage of skilled workers.

Terre des Femmes is therefore launching an awareness-raising campaign. This consists primarily of the website Sexism.chwhich informs the public about the topic. The platform is advertised with flyers and beer mats, which are displayed in bars and restaurants in the four largest German-speaking cities in Switzerland. Some Swiss cantons have bans on sexist advertising in public places. However, gender-discriminatory advertising is not banned at national level. Terre de Femmes calls on consumers to complain about sexist advertising to the relevant fairness commission. It also wants companies that advertise with sexist advertising to be publicly pilloried. Lucerne City Council reallocates billboard contracts

The City of Lucerne's billboard contract will be re-awarded in 2016. The city council had put the contracts for billposting on public land and on properties owned by the city of Lucerne out to public tender on the recommendation of the federal price inspector.

The tender for the award of the poster contracts from 2016 onwards took place because the poster contract between the city of Lucerne and the poster company APG/SGA expires at the end of 2015. The poster sites were put out to tender in four lots: "paper posters", "illuminated posters/digital poster sites", "poster sites at bus stops" and "small posters". Several companies submitted bids for the four different lots, the city announced on Monday.

The city council awarded the contract for three lots to the poster company Clear Channel Switzerland. Their bids were judged to be the most cost-effective in the evaluation of all bids. Due to a lack of suitable bids, the procedure for the fourth lot was canceled. However, the city council still wants to realize the poster sites for small posters and agree a contract directly with a "suitable local provider".

Opportunity for all

The city council put the poster contracts out to tender on the recommendation of the federal price watchdog. The aim is to improve the market economy mechanisms by giving smaller companies the opportunity to enter into contracts with the public sector. The city council also wants to use the tender to increase the annual income from the operation of the poster sites. By awarding the three lots to Clear Channel Switzerland, the city will earn two million francs from 2016. It is also foreseeable that income will continue to increase over the next few years, according to the statement. Paper posters are increasingly being replaced by illuminated posters and digital advertising. (SDA)

Founding of the first Swiss cooperative for holistic brand management

The Brand Focus Group was founded as the first interdisciplinary collective of experts—organized as a cooperative—dedicated to brand-focused corporate management.

The Swiss company, based in Basel, aims to provide SMEs with access to high-quality consulting and implementation services with the aim of achieving a successful and differentiated positioning in the market, according to a press release. The members of the cooperative are established and experienced specialists in their respective disciplines. They share a practice-oriented understanding of holistic, interdisciplinary, coordinated brand development and management, which sets them apart from conventional networks. Together and individually, they provide strategic conception and consulting services and ensure their consistent implementation through operational implementation support.

Corporate management has become very complex in recent years, even for SMEs in an increasingly competitive environment. The corporate brand in the spotlight is challenged in all areas - from positioning/strategy, process management, finance, human resources, production, research & development to corporate communications and marketing as well as distribution and sales - like never before. In addition to sound industry and management experience, the management of an SME today must have knowledge of new specialist areas and be able to implement them successfully. The CEO is often left alone with the challenge of uniform, coordinated management of new networks and processes. "Today, the strength and value of a company no longer depend solely on what it does and says about itself, but increasingly on the actual impact of its brand and the public feedback it receives in the market. Successfully managing and controlling this development is extremely demanding and can hardly be done competently with internal resources," says Pascal Staub, initiator of the Brand Focus Group.

This is where the Brand Focus Group cooperative comes in, with the aim of effectively establishing and differentiating SMEs in the market and sustainably promoting their corporate brand: in a coordinated, integrated manner and with optimized costs. Consulting in holistic brand management is accompanied by the development of operational, interdisciplinary structures to ensure target-oriented implementation. Holistic, because brand experience involves both hemispheres of the brain and all sensory worlds and can only be understood and integrated in this way. With an effect from the inside out that matches the needs and understanding structure of the market. This alignment of perception ultimately results in an authentic and sustainable brand value, true differentiation in the market and therefore strength and economic success.

The individual members of the Brand Focus Group are legally independent companies and form a coordinated network of expertise with lean, results-oriented structures within the framework of the cooperative. The synergy of this expertise enables interdisciplinary and customized consulting and implementation packages for brand-focused corporate management. This with a view to creating strategic and economic advantages as well as sustainably securing companies and jobs. The Brand Focus Group advises on the responsible, conscious and sustainable development of the corporate brand and reputation. As experienced and trusted partners, the members of the Brand Focus Group manage and increase success and corporate strength pragmatically, transparently and through optimal solutions.
