Marc Jäggi back at Radio 1

The 39-year-old radio man Marc Jäggi is returning to Radio 1 from Radio 24. There, he will take turns presenting the morning show with Dani Wüthrich and sit on the management team as Chief Innovation Officer (CIO).

In a statement, Marc Jäggi justifies his return to Radio 1 with the station's potential: "The highly exciting 35+ target group is criminally neglected by many radio stations in the Zurich area. As CIO (Chief Innovation Officer), one of my tasks will be to make the Radio 1 brand even more attractive to this growing, interesting target group and to open up new opportunities for the advertising market." In addition, he said, Schawinski offers him not only a great team and a long-term perspective, but also an environment he is already familiar with, which makes innovation and quick decisions possible. "We are in the digital revolution. Openness, creativity and flexibility are more important for survival today than ever before."

Roger Schawinski: "With Marc Jäggi, one of the defining figures of the Swiss radio landscape is returning to us. That makes me happy. In his new role, he will help us position our two stations - Radio 1 and Planet 105 - even better in the rapidly changing media landscape."

Marc Jäggi was a founding member of Radio 1 in 2008 and helped shape the station for six years as a presenter and morning show host. In May 2014, Radio 24 brought him on as program director (Werbewoche.ch reported).

Migros Media adapts organization to strategic business areas

Migros Media is reorganizing and separating its contract products division from its traditional publishing business. Effective November 1, 2015, these operations will fall under the newly created «Contract Business» unit.

Migros Media is present on the market with the well-established Swiss publishing publications Migros-Magazine, Saisonküche and Vivai. Since 2012, the Migros media company has been systematically expanding its supplementary corporate publishing activities and realizing journalistic and commercial commissioned products. In addition to print products such as brochures and customer magazines, projects in the multimedia and communication design sectors are increasingly being conceived and implemented. In order to sharpen the market focus and further strengthen and expand its own competencies, the commissioned products are now being separated from the publishing business and organizationally transferred to the "Commissioned Products" division. The product portfolio of the newly created division comprises the areas of expertise "Content Marketing / Corporate Publishing" and "Corporate and Communication Design".

Bruno Boll (photo), currently Creative Director and Head of "Design/Image/Multimedia", will take over the management of the new business unit. He has been working for Migros Media for six years and has extensive experience in communication and communication design.

"The structural separation of the two divisions will enable us to develop the market on a broader basis, operate much more flexibly and therefore grow faster. I am particularly pleased that we have been able to appoint an internal candidate to head the new business division. It shows that Migros Media has a strong management team and the necessary know-how for further expansion," says Lorenz Bruegger, Head of the Migros Media Directorate.

Marcus Kraft: Money for Nothing

The «Money for Nothing» project is a new series of works by art director and designer Marcus Kraft. In it, he explores the question of the value of money.

He "destroyed" exactly one hundred one-dollar bills through artistic interventions and thus made them unusable for daily payment transactions. Each bill was treated in a different way. According to the federal law of the United States, Kraft has made himself liable to prosecution with his interventions, and can be punished with up to 20 years in prison. The original works were exhibited in Zurich and Winterthur. Now an exclusive numbered and signed book is being published by Zurich's Hakuin publishing house. The first edition is limited to 300 copies.

Gemi: Electronic media continue to grow

Advertising spending in the TV sector has increased by seven points, and, together with the online sector, has led to growth in the electronic media sector.

Both radio and the internet and digital out of home have intensified compared to the previous month. The overall market grew by one point. These are the results of the Goldbach Index (Gemi) figures on advertising pressure in September 2015.

The Internet emerges as the winner of September. With constant growth over the year, the Internet now scores 827 points for the first time. The TV medium closed the month on a positive note with 660 points. Digital out of home also increased by 13 points. The advertising pressure for teletext remained unchanged from the previous month at 45 points.

Electronic media as a whole benefited from the strong increase in the Internet segment. The increase of seven points confirms the upward trend since June. The advertising pressure for the market as a whole has also risen by one point. This leads to a year-on-year increase.

Rod: "Love Life" campaign wave for primo infection

Anyone who has to stay in bed after having unprotected sex should talk to their doctor about whether an HIV test is recommended. Rod continues to lead the «Love Life» campaign on behalf of the FOPH.

This is because flu-like symptoms often occur in the first few weeks after infection with HIV. During this phase, the so-called primary infection, HIV-infected persons are much more contagious than later. In addition, immediate therapy can have a positive effect on the course of the disease. With a new TV spot, posters and online measures, the FOPH is drawing attention to the topic of HIV primary infection. The following applies: The earlier a primary infection is discovered, the more likely it is that further infections can be prevented. When visiting a doctor, it is therefore essential to point out the possible connection with unprotected sexual intercourse. In this way, an HIV test can be performed that detects an infection even if there are no antibodies in the blood yet. But it is also of great benefit to the newly infected person himself if his HIV infection is detected early. This is because immediate antiretroviral therapy can help to ensure that the HIV infection does less damage to the body and that important immune functions are preserved in the long term.

To draw attention to the issue of primary infection, the FOPH is launching a wave of "Love Life" campaigns specifically tailored to this topic. The subjects of the current campaign highlight the connection between unprotected sex and flu-like symptoms. Take a look under the covers.

Last but not least: Safety on board

Emirates had flight attendants take the field at Benfica Lisbon's stadium to brief the crowd. For once, a very charming gesture by the airline.

Since May, the Emirates airline has been the shirt sponsor of Portuguese football club Benfica Lisbon. The force with which the Arab airline is spreading its wings in top European football is not only met with approval. "Fly Emirates" is also to be seen on the shirts of AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, HSV, Olympiakos Piraeus, Real Madrid and, of course, Arsenal FC, with whom Emirates signed the biggest club sponsorship deal in English football history in 2004 - including the newly built Emirates Stadium.

For once, however, Emirates not only delighted the club treasurers, but also the fans. With a great idea, beautiful flight attendants and 65,000 viewers. And a YouTube clip that was viewed almost 100,000 times after just one day. That's how it works with the image. (hae)
