After #SHAREYOURSTYLEZalando is now launching the #SHAREYOURSEXY campaign, for which the online fashion platform has teamed up with Calvin Klein Underwear. Starring top model Joan Smalls. For Christmas, Zalando is following the concept of sharing and encouraging customers in Europe to share what they think is sexy.
The campaign embraces the concept of "feeling sexy" and aims to encourage consumers across Europe to share what the word "sexy" means to them. According to the communication, the aim is to move away from a superficial understanding of sexy towards values such as self-confidence, strength and dignity as well as an awareness that this "being sexy" comes from within. Instead of prescribing what is sexy, top model Joan Smalls encourages customers to engage in a personal dialog. With a twinkle in her eye, the global campaign with a local reference is aimed at customers in Europe. This principle is already familiar from the Campaign with Cara Delevingue. In the commercial, Joan Smalls talks about many everyday things that are typical of the various markets: from Swiss watches to Dutch bicycles and French baguettes.
An innovative feature of the campaign is the Digital Hub, where people can share and experience what sexy means to them. In a series of local edits, Joan Smalls has direct consumer contact in 300-500 cities per country. On the campaign platform, everyone can find inspiration and tell others what they understand by sexy. Nothing is predetermined: Zalando invites them to #SHAREYOURSEXY all over Europe.
The #SHAREYOURSEXY campaign starts on November 15, 2015 in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. On Share.zalando.ch consumers will find an extensive digital sharing platform with appealing features and content. In addition, the campaign is supported by global portals such as TV, outdoor, print and social media. (hae/pd)

Physicist writes about voice researchers
In the article "Arias for Science," published in 2014 in the "Neue Zürcher Zeitung," Helga Rietz accompanies voice researcher Matthias Echternach, who is himself a trained singer. For his study, the doctor slides world opera stars into the MRI scanner and films their vocal folds as they vibrate.
The jury praised the reportage as "refreshing, unique, entertaining and educational at the same time," emphasizing, "That's what good science reporting should do, take you to places you never thought you'd go."
Rietz holds a doctorate in physics and has worked in the science department of the "Neue Zürcher Zeitung" since 2013. There she is in charge of the technology and geosciences sections.
About the award

Appearance for residential superstructure
Planet Luzern designed the visual identity for Maréchaux's new residential development, «Städtlipark.».

November 10, 2015
On the land of two long-established Sursee families - Beck and Wey - 60 new condominiums are being built. Planet was commissioned to develop a complete corporate design including a website.
At the time a building project is designed, there are only ideas, visions and architectural plans. This is why Planet has moved away from the usual sharp rendering images and taken the step towards watercolors. This gives the appearance of the "Städtlipark" a soft and picturesque touch that emphasizes the location of the development.
The building plot is located right next to the old town, which the people of Sursee call "Städtli". The residential area has space for a picturesque park, which is to be planted with native fruit trees and regional plants. This combination of town and park inspired Planet to name it "Städtlipark".

The judging for the 30th LIA took place at the SLS Hotel in Las Vegas.
As in Cannes, Saatchi & Saatchi is one of the big winners at the London International Awards (LIA) in 2015. With the "HIV+ Issue" for the Austrian Vangardist Magazine, the Geneva-based agency won four awards, two of them in gold. The limited special edition of the magazine was printed with (sterilized) blood from HIV-positive people and is intended to reduce fear of contact and prejudice. The campaign has already won gold, double silver and double bronze at Cannes Lions (Werbewoche.ch reported).
Stories is also awarded with precious metal. With the Triumph campaign "Find the One" the Zurich-based film production wins silver for the music. Not entirely surprisingly, Stories hired renowned Broadway composer and three-time Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown for the soundtrack of the international campaign. He was joined by the Prague Film Philharmonic Orchestra, which is regularly booked by international artists and star directors. Stories also made it onto the shortlist in the category "Production/Post-Production - Animation" with the campaign The German Version:
The Geneva-based agency M&C Saatchi received a bronze award. For the aid organization of the Protestant Church EPER (German: HEKS), the radio spot addresses the issue that refugees are often highly qualified, but cannot apply their skills in their new country. This campaign has also already won a bronze award in Cannes (Werbewoche.ch reported).
The list of finalists also includes FCB Zurich ("Designed by Music" for the Swiss Youth Symphony Orchestra) and Leo Burnett Switzerland ("Wrapped Report" for Emmentaler and the Selfie selfies famous artist for Samsung). Of the 14'106 campaigns submitted from 78 countries, seven percent made the shortlist, 1.2 percent received gold, 1.6 percent silver and two percent bronze. All winners can be seen at Liaentries.com/winners . The LIA are among the eight competitions from which two may be freely chosen for Advertising Week's creative ranking. (hae)

Epica Awards: Shortlist 2015 announced
The shortlist for this year's Epica Awards has been announced. As many as seven Swiss agencies have a chance to win awards next week.

November 10, 2015
4000 campaigns from 75 countries were submitted for the Epica Awards this year - 5 percent more than in 2014. The entire Shortlist can be viewed at this link. According to General Manager Richard Fuehrer, the countries Germany, Canada, Turkey and the USA were particularly successful in submitting entries - as were Lebanon, Romania, Spain and Japan. But as is often the case, the Swiss creative sector does not have to hide either: With FCB Zurich, Havas, Leo Burnett (2x), Publicis (4x), Ruf Lanz (4x), Stories and Wirz (2x), no fewer than seven Swiss agencies can be found on the list of finalists. Campaigns that narrowly failed to make the shortlist will nevertheless be printed in the annual Epica book (September 2016). Who will win this year's awards will be decided by representatives of trade media from around the world from November 16 to 18 in Berlin. Among them, along with titles such as Adweek and Lürzer's Archive, is Werbewoche again this year. (hae)

Digital responsibility newly bundled in two teams
The Zurich-based media company Tamedia is reorganizing its digital operations: While responsibility for these efforts has previously rested with individual products, it will be consolidated into two new teams next spring.

November 10, 2015
The new Digital News & Development division will be active from April 1, 2016 and comprises two departments: The first department will take care of the digital offerings within the news platforms and will be headed by Peter Wälty. Wälty is relinquishing his previous position as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of 20 Minuten, as Tamedia announced on Tuesday.
The second department, headed by Thomas Gresch, will develop company-wide technologies such as target group-oriented online advertising. He will also be responsible for payment models. However, Tamedia said on request that nothing new is currently planned in this respect. (SDA)
Study: Social networks provide consumers with concrete incentives to buy
In half of all cases, German consumers' purchasing decisions are already influenced by content on social media. Facebook and YouTube exert the greatest influence on consumers and provide by far the most incentives to buy.
Editorial
-
November 9, 2015
Of 18 to 34-year-olds, 70 percent already state that social media content influences their purchasing decisions. Both original content and advertising measures have a similar effect. This is the conclusion of the "Connected Commerce 2015" study by digital agency DigitasLBi, for which over 1000 German consumers were surveyed on their purchasing behavior by market research institute IFOP.
"Brands should trust in the power of social networks. Consumers can now be converted into brand fans and loyal buyers not only through various advertising measures, but also through a successful brand presence in social networks. Young people in particular show a high level of interest in the digital presence of brands and allow their purchasing behavior to be positively influenced by specific purchase incentives. The interplay between content marketing and digital advertising can provide a major boost if advertisers take advantage of this through intelligent campaigns," says Anke Herbener, CEO of DigitasLBi in Germany and Switzerland.
More than half of German consumers (51.3%) generally allow their purchasing decisions to be influenced by information on social networks. For these consumers, Facebook (29.9%) and YouTube (26.5%) are the undisputed leaders in influencing purchasing decisions. The content on Google+ generates an incentive to buy in around 10 percent of cases. All other social networks hardly play a role: Twitter and Instagram are far behind with only four percent each, followed by Xing with three percent, Pinterest with two percent and LinkedIn and Tumblr with one percent each.
The most important factors for a positive purchase decision
The purchase decision can be influenced in various ways within a social network. According to the DigitasLBi study, traditional marketing measures still provide the greatest incentive to buy. These include classic advertising content (34%) as well as targeted promotions and campaigns (31%). Status messages from friends and acquaintances help to positively influence consumers' purchasing decisions in 29% of cases. These status messages include a variety of content from companies, which is then disseminated further by their own circle of friends. Investing in a brand presence in the form of their own fan page convinces 23% of consumers to buy a product if good content is displayed there by the company. As many as 17% of consumers trust the content and shared recommendations of advocates and experts, known as influencers.
In the detailed demographic analysis, the study shows that women are significantly influenced in their purchasing behavior by classic advertising content and status messages from friends. Men, on the other hand, are seduced by promotions and advertising campaigns. Younger consumers are generally encouraged to buy products or services by the content in status messages from friends.
One in four shows willingness to buy directly via social networks
The willingness to make online purchases directly via a social media platform is generally present among the consumers surveyed. One in four consumers (28%) has already made a purchase via social networks. This includes both direct purchases of premium subscriptions and product purchases via redirects to external online stores. Facebook (10 percent), YouTube (6 percent) and Google+ (5 percent) are far ahead of purchases via Twitter and Xing (2 percent each). The portals Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr and LinkedIn do not play a role in the direct purchase of products among German consumers.
As expected, sharing content is one of the most important processes in social networks. In the case of product purchases, almost one in three consumers (28%) inform their friends by actively sharing this as a status message on social media. Among younger consumers in the 18 to 34 age group, this figure reaches around 41%.
Consumers inform their friends about their purchases
The main reason given by 42% of consumers for sharing is that they simply want to inform their friends about the purchase. A further 38% want to spread the word about an offer or bargain among their friends. For 35 percent, a sense of pride prevails, while 20 percent hope to increase their chances of winning additional vouchers, discounts and loyalty points by sharing. 13% even want to impress their friends with the products. This last reason in particular is much more pronounced among men than women.
However, those who have not yet shared product purchases on social networks may be encouraged to do so by the prospect of vouchers, discounts and loyalty points. 28% of consumers who do not share photos or status messages about their purchases see these rewards as a motivating factor for sharing. A further 19 percent would share information about a bargain and 10 percent see sharing purely to inform their friends as a reason. Impressing friends or being proud of the purchase play a much smaller role for the majority of consumers. Overall, all reasons for sharing product purchases on social networks are more pronounced among young people.
The "Connected Commerce 2015" study by DigitasLBi was conducted in a total of 17 countries, including Australia, Belgium, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates and the USA. The current survey was conducted by the French opinion and market research institute IFOP with a sample size of 1,000 Internet users aged 18 and over in each country. Catherine Martin Art Direction: New brand design for CR Cleaning
The newly founded company CR Reinigung has commissioned Catherine Martin to develop its new brand design. A striking visual concept conveys the message: CR cleans thoroughly and professionally.

The new brand design runs consistently through all applications: from the logo, stationery and online presence to company cars and staff clothing.
Postcards and advertisements are also used. An analogy from the animal kingdom is also used here. Just as certain bird species thoroughly remove dirt from rhinos, zebras or antelopes, CR cleaning ensures "cleanliness down to the smallest crack" in offices and doctors' surgeries.
Responsible for CR cleaning: Corinne Reichle (owner and managing director). Responsible for the new appearance: Catherine Martin (concept, art direction, brand design and graphic design), Joni Müller (text), Marco Schaaf (image editing), Reto Knödlseder/WebGarage AG (programming).
