Scholz & Friends: Captain Iglo is back with new fish sticks

Scholz & Friends has produced a TV commercial for Iglo’s new fish sticks. To mark the frozen food manufacturer’s 50th anniversary, the sailor Captain Iglo was brought back in front of the camera.

Scholz & Friends realized a TV commercial for Iglo's new Omega-3 fish sticks. For the 50th anniversary of the frozen food manufacturer, the sailor Captain Iglo was brought back in front of the lens. After a seven-year absence from the screen, he will now set sail again on television from March 30, 2009. The TV commercial, which was shot in South Africa and shows Captain Iglo going on a great voyage with children, will be shown in over ten countries worldwide.
The TV spot is accompanied by a microsite developed by Scholz & Friends Interactive, on which Iglo Fischstäbchen and Ravensburger Memory jointly celebrate their 50th anniversary. On Iglo.de, a virtual memory game invites visitors to take a memory test with a prize draw. In addition, there will be an adventure ship on board to discover the history of fish sticks, among other things.
Supplementary POS measures for the anniversary are being implemented by Scholz & Friends Sales Affairs.

Communications offensive: Yahoo hires a new head of marketing

For the first time in two years, the struggling internet group has appointed Elisa Steele as head of marketing. She is to bundle the confused responsibilities within the Group.

For the first time in around two years, the struggling Internet company Yahoo has appointed a new head of marketing under its new management. Effective immediately, Elisa Steele is responsible for Yahoo marketing throughout the company. The reintroduced management position is part of an offensive by Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz, who has been in office since January. She revamped the management and simplified the structure of the internationally active company.
Yahoo is suffering from falling advertising revenues and Google's dominant position in Internet search and marketing. Former Yahoo boss and co-founder Jerry Yang threw in the towel after angering several major shareholders with his rejection of a takeover by software giant Microsoft. Bartz announced that Steele's task is now to bring the unclear responsibilities in the Group's marketing back together.

The new Mini convertible right in your hands

The car manufacturer Mini is drawing attention to its new convertible with an interactive ad. When viewers hold the print ad in front of their webcam, the convertible appears as a virtual model on the screen.

The car manufacturer Mini is drawing attention to its new convertible with an interactive advertisement, for example on the front page of the free newspaper 20 Minuten on Monday. The print ads with the slogan "The new Mini convertible in your hands" lead to the homepage www.mini.ch/webcam. If the viewer holds the ad page in front of their webcam, the convertible appears as a virtual model on the screen as if it were standing directly on the ad. If the ad page is moved, the model car also moves in real time

The ads were realized by the Lowe agency. Buzzinmonkey was responsible for the idea, coordination and implementation. In addition to the interactive ad, the launch campaign includes TV commercials and guerrilla marketing measures. The slogan of the global campaign is "Always Open", as with the predecessor model.

Brand survey: Swiss rely on tradition and ecology

In the «European Trusted Brands» survey conducted by Reader’s Digest, long-established brands such as Migros, Raiffeisen, Similasan, and Swatch maintained their top positions. For the first time, brands were also surveyed regarding their environmental commitment.

In the "European Trusted Brands" brand survey conducted by Reader's Digest for the ninth time, traditional brands such as Migros, Raiffeisen, Similasan and Swatch remained at the top. Nevertheless, the brand landscape is changing; environmental protection is playing an increasingly important role in all product categories. For the first time, the study has therefore also identified those brands whose commitment to the environment enjoys the best reputation.
On the list of the most trusted brands, Volkswagen has regained the top spot in the automotive category from Toyota. Helsana replaces CSS at the top of the health insurance trust ranking after one year, while L'Oréal has to relinquish its long-standing top position in hair care products to Nivea as the most trusted brand. Aspirin wins out over Dafalgan in the painkiller category.
In terms of ecological commitment, Toyota scored highly for cars, Raiffeisen for banks, Swiss for airlines, Migros for retailers and household cleaners and V-Zug for household and kitchen appliances. In Switzerland, 1082 people were surveyed and around 1600 brands were named across all 35 product categories. In total, the survey was conducted in 16 European countries with 23,000 respondents.
Europeanized brands
Across Europe, Germany's classic brand Nivea - for the fifth time in a row - took first place in the skin care category and Finnish cell phone manufacturer Nokia once again took first place in the cell phone category in all 16 European countries. The Visa credit card came first in 14 countries. Canon achieved this position in the photographic equipment product category in 13 countries.
Kellogg's took first place in the breakfast cereals category in ten countries. The Swiss food group Nestlé achieved first place in five countries. Only in some categories, including automobiles, did strong brands from the home country such as Renault in France, Skoda in the Czech Republic and Volvo in Sweden come out on top. In addition to Switzerland, Volkswagen is also at the top in Germany, Austria and Poland.

Euro RSCG: Looking for new castle owners for Pro Patria

Euro RSCG Zurich has developed a wide-ranging campaign for the Swiss Pro Patria Foundation. The campaign uses TV, print, and radio to solicit donations for the foundation, which was founded 100 years ago.

Euro RSCG Zurich has developed a broad-based campaign for the Swiss Pro Patria Foundation. It uses TV, print and radio to solicit donations for the foundation, which was established 100 years ago and is committed to the preservation of cultural assets and landscapes in Switzerland. With a donation of five francs or more, you become a symbolic co-owner of the cultural objects.
Photographed cultural objects throughout Switzerland form the basis of the communication. The print measures are flanked by TV commercials created under the direction of Sebastian Kenney. In 20 seconds each, they show how people appear in everyday life as the new co-owners of a castle - they appear in everyday situations as a lady-in-waiting, knight or prince. The message is underlined by the slogan "There's a castle owner in everyone".
The commercials, which were filmed in the city of Zurich and the surrounding area, can now be seen on several stations in all language regions of Switzerland.
