ZHAW seeks health experts with bite

The Bachelor's degree program in Health Promotion and Prevention is a new program offered by ZHAW. Gestalten has created a campaign for it.

The course at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences is primarily aimed at a younger audience. In addition to a broad portfolio of expertise - ranging from epidemiology to project management to teaching social change processes - participants must ultimately bring enough charisma and energy to bring awareness and tools for healthier living to a wider audience.

DSCN5142_Hase

To present this in an attention-grabbing and positive way was the task that the Gestalten agency set itself. In order to achieve the quickest and most direct effect possible with the available possibilities, it created a health expert with a bite. On street posters, in means of transport and online, he will in future ensure that the new training in Winterthur also tastes good to health experts with short ears.

Studio Schoch: Chocolate and gourmet coffee

Studio Schoch collaborated with Chocolat Frey to develop the brand design for Branches and created the latest Delizio Limited Edition Nepal.

The aim of the Branches brand design was to create a new packaging concept for a product extension. This should be applicable to the entire umbrella brand and redefine the Branches brand identity. Colorful ribbons visually wrap the packaging and the bright colors as well as the curved lettering convey a feeling of fun and lightness. In addition, these symbolize the two components of the product; the crunchy shell and the creamy center. In the case of the Cream Milk and Cream Banana Branches, the milk filling is additionally emphasized by the white base color and the milk splash containing the lettering. The new Branches are available in Classic, Noir, Cornflakes, Bicolor, Cream Milk and Cream Banana.

Studio Schoch also designed the latest Delizio Limited Edition Nepal. In reference to the origin of the coffee, the Himalayan mountains, the design takes up the Nepalese mandalas. The mandala is in the bright, bold colors of Nepal. Printing in metallic colors, the partial use of gloss varnish and the large-scale, golden hot foil stamping give the Limited Edition Nepal Himalaya an exclusive appearance. For every package of Delizio Nepal Himalaya sold, 50 centimes will be donated to the victims of the Nepal earthquake.

Top mobile sites continue to gain reach

With the release of the “Net-Metrix-Profile 2015-2” study on November 30, 2015, the industry organization Net-Metrix has now published the second edition of its optimized and expanded online currency study.

In addition to the reach and target group data of 115 Swiss websites and networks, the current publication again contains data on a good 50 mobile sites, iOS and Android apps.

Order of the top 5 web offers unchanged

With the more extensive Net-Metrix profile data set, target groups on the Internet can now be analyzed even more precisely and campaigns better planned, especially on individual mobile offerings. The potential here is considerable: A total of 5.8 million people over the age of 14 can be reached via the Internet in Switzerland. The reach of the largest web offerings and in particular the top mobile sites and apps is also continuing to increase for the most part. Compared to the previous wave, however, the order of the offerings within the first places often remains unchanged. Among the web offerings, local.ch remains the largest Swiss platform with 47.5 percent reach, ahead of Search.ch in second place and 20min.ch - D-CH in third place.

Top 5 Mobile Sites, iOS and Android Apps

In the case of mobile sites, reach is growing for all of the top 5 ranked offerings. In the same order as in the last publication of the currency study, the mobile site of 20min.ch D-CH with 24.6 percent monthly reach is ahead of the mobile site of Blick Online (21.6 %) and Local.ch (18.3 %).

Bildschirmfoto-2015-11-30-um-15.40.42

The ranking of the biggest apps is also stable. In first place among the iOS apps, 20min.ch - D-CH is again ahead with a reach of 661 thousand. The field of Android apps is led by local.ch with 423 thousand users per month. It is noticeable that the same brands are represented in the Android and iOS apps: Both apps of 20min.ch - D-CH, local.ch, Zattoo and Search.ch are in the top 5 of the two operating systems. In the ranking of iOS apps, the phone app of Blick News is also in the top group, and in the top Android apps, the universal app of 20min.ch - W-CH takes this place.

Edeka shakes up Germany

Edeka's new Christmas commercial has taken the internet by storm in record time and is giving Germans pause for thought.

The figures are record-breaking: one and a half days after the clip #heimkommen was published, it has 8.3 million views on Facebook and 2.3 million clicks on YouTube (as of 20:30, 29.11.2015). This not only brings tears to the eyes of many competing advertisers, but above all to a large part of the audience. Jung von Matt/Alster tells the story of an old man who stages his own death in order to bring his busy family to the (Christmas) table after all.

The creative team, which has already worked on the Edeka coup "Super cool" with Friedrich Liechtenstein, once again seems to have struck a chord with a wide audience with this campaign idea, which for once is not funny but serious and emotional. The moved audience can then look forward to Soundcloud download the title song "Dad" by Neele Ternes. (hae)

Syndicom fights against "Pro Service public" initiative

The Syndicom union is opposing the «Pro Service public» initiative. On Saturday in Bern, the approximately 200 delegates voted to campaign against it. They also criticize Swiss Post’s outsourcing policy.

Like parliament, the media and communications industry union is recommending that voters reject the "Pro Service Public" popular initiative, according to a communiqué issued on Saturday. The initiative is expected to be put to a vote next summer. Despite the seductive title of the popular initiative, the Syndicom delegates agreed that the initiative would hinder the further development and modernization of the public service and would have fatal consequences, especially in peripheral regions. The initiative demands that companies close to the federal government, such as Swiss Post, Swisscom and the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), should not strive for profits in the provision of basic services and should refrain from cross-subsidization. In addition, employees' salaries should not be higher than those of the federal administration.

The consumer magazines K-Tipp, Saldo, Bon à Savoir and Spendere Meglio are behind the initiative. The declared aim of the initiators is to ensure that Swiss Post, Swisscom or SBB offer the population first and foremost a good and affordable service. The syndicom delegates also criticized the outsourcing of mail transport. They passed a resolution. They said Swiss Post could afford to continue transporting its parcels, newspapers and letters itself. It was making millions in profits and the transport of postal items was not running at a loss. Last but not least: Supplementary tutoring

There are always reasons to buy a new TV. If necessary, you can help a little - Samsung shows you how.

Actually, the old device is still good and there is no reason to replace it prematurely. Almost nothing: the new models are so beautifully large, so beautifully sharp, so beautifully flat - and in the case of Samsung, even curved. Common sense and common sense prevent something that still works perfectly from being disposed of prematurely. Of course, the situation is completely different if the unloved old device is disposed of prematurely. For example, due to an unfortunate accident. The London-based agency Fold 7 offers tuition on how to help out with "Happy accidents". So you're sure to enjoy an early TV retirement. (hae)

Epic: Best of Epica, Part 2

Twelve more commercials from eight campaigns that won awards at the Epica Awards—and that you should definitely check out.

A second subjective and incomplete selection of spots worth seeing that were honored at this year's Epica Awards. The winners of all categories can be found at Winners.epica-awards.com/2015 viewable. Part 1 can be found here.

Silver Skaters

Rekorderlig Cider is typically Swedish. And the humor of "Silver Skaters" is typically Scandinavian: dry and sensitive. The aesthetics of the grumpy ice-art beards created by Saatchi & Saatchi slithered to the top of the podium in Berlin: Gold in the "Alcoholic Drinks" category - and, together with the Grandprix winner "High School Girl?", was the best-rated spot of this Epica year.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSZtxXNjmLA

Proud Sponsors

When it comes to humor, the English are never far away. If you're unlucky, even very close - for example in the same category. That's why the jury awarded the golden pyramid to two spots in "Alcoholic Drinks". In various short spots, McCann Central shows the joy and dedication with which the Australian wine producer Hardy's sponsors the English cricket team. This fills even the winegrowers far away with pride. Australia and England are eternal (and bitter) rivals in this sport, which is only played in a few countries.

Puppy Love

Someone should understand today's youth. One thing is clear: problems are solved differently today than they used to be. Especially when the network coverage is good and the Internet is fast. Telenor Norway is making sure that Norway is happy with 4G. And - once again - the agency Try communicates this successfully: Gold in the "Telecommunication & Public Services" category.

Two for One Tickets

In Dubai, the Du cinemas are offering two tickets for the price of one on Tuesday. In a series of commercials, Leo Burnett provides good reasons why going to the movies in pairs makes more sense than going alone. The western-style campaign is presumably aimed more at the many expats in the desert state. There certainly doesn't seem to be a lack of advertising budgets in Dubai, as other submitted campaigns have also shown. Du-Dienstag won bronze in the "Telecommunication & Public Services" category - two of the four spots:

Tooth

The subject of "dental hygiene" usually leads a bleak existence in advertising: gleaming white teeth, toothpaste smiles, actors disguised as scientists and dentists quoting some pseudo-study... all the more refreshing the approach of the agency Forsman & Bodenfors from Götheborg: the terraced house quarter becomes a row of teeth. No specific dental product is advertised, but rather the range of dental care products and advice offered by the pharmacy chain Apoteket Ab. This won bronze in the "Health, Beauty, Cosmetics & Toiletries" category.

Only Ordinary by Name

John Smith's has perhaps the most unspectacular, banal name a beer can have. But that doesn't mean that Britain's most popular pale ale tastes just as banal. And that the people who drink John Smith's are all unremarkably average types. Shows AdamandeveDDB and wins silver in the "Alcoholic Drinks" category with the spot.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPafQfokx84

Boy raised by Goats

Thanks to YouTube and the like, commercials are no longer limited to 30 or 60 seconds as they are on TV. There is widespread criticism that the art of telling great stories in the shortest possible time is being lost as a result. The "Boy raised by Goats" commercial created by The Sweet Shop agency lasts almost four minutes. And is a good example of how long can also be good. In the "Prescription and OTC Products" category, the unfortunate boy with the kind-hearted goat parents was awarded gold.

Win Christmas

In last year's Christmas campaign for Mulberry, AdamandeveDDB showed what is important during the festive season: outdoing everyone else with the best gift. The ad won gold in the "Luxury & Premium Brands" category.

JvM/Impact and Swiss Life launch campaign with Facebook Instant Articles

As part of Swiss Life’s «Resolutions» campaign, Jung von Matt/impact and Swiss Life are using Facebook’s newly launched Instant Articles to launch a native campaign.

Since October 2015, Facebook has allowed selected publishers in Switzerland to publish complete articles including image and video content directly in the mobile Facebook app. The so-called Facebook Instant Articles offer a significantly improved user experience.

In collaboration with Jung von Matt/Impact, Swiss Life is using this new, optimized environment for mobile devices as part of its "resolutions" campaign. Likemag was the first Swiss publisher to be awarded the contract by Facebook to publish Instant Articles. In November, sponsored stories on the topic of "resolutions" were shared via the news platform as Instant Articles on Facebook, among other things.

"We deliberately integrate new and innovative forms of advertising into our online marketing mix at an early stage" says Patrick Comboeuf, Head of Digital Experience at Swiss Life Switzerland. "In doing so, we benefit not only from the attention that such a new format attracts. With Instant Articles, we also create a coherent experience for the user," adds Comboeuf.

In addition to high awareness and wide reach, the advantages of the fully native form of advertising were also proven in hard performance figures. Compared to traditional Facebook seeding, Instant Articles achieved more than twice the click performance.

Change in marketing management at Universal

At the end of December, Paul Fischli, Head of Marketing at Universal Pictures International Switzerland, will officially step down from his long-standing position and retire. He will be succeeded by Reto Philipp.

For the past 18 years, Paul Fischli has been responsible for the launch campaigns of Universal's and Paramount Pictures' theatrical films. "With Paul Fischli, we are leaving an extremely competent, experienced marketing professional and profound connoisseur of the film scene. With his work, he has shaped the great success of Universal films in Swiss cinemas and launched blockbusters as well as sophisticated studio films with the appropriate campaigns," explains Managing Director Emin Soysaler on Paul Fischli's departure.

Reto Philipp (pictured) will succeed him as Marketing Director at Universal Pictures International Switzerland on December 1, 2015. Agency at the airport: combined newsletter for Schmobi

The mailing that the agency created for Schmolz + Birkenbach at the airport can be turned into a fan clap after reading it.

The team and its performance are at the forefront of communication for the Schmolz + Bickenbach Stahlcenter brand - Schmobi for short. The analogies to the world of team sports are therefore obvious. This also applies to the new newsletter, which the agency at the airport has given multifunctional, sporty characteristics. It provides bilingual information about the Schmobi team, its services and the steel. What's more, it doesn't have to be thrown away after reading as usual, but can be folded into a fan clap (with instructions) to be used loudly at the next team sporting event. The concept developed by the agency at the airport envisages that every Schmobi newsletter can be used in a variety of ways in future.

Viktor Baumeler new President SRG SSR

On Friday, the SRG Delegates' Assembly elected Viktor Baumeler as SRG President until 2017 at the latest and reappointed the two members of the Board of Directors, Lucy Küng and Regula Bührer Fecker, for the 2016–2019 term.

The delegates unanimously approved the 2016 budget allocation, which also takes into account the requirements of the SRG savings program. At the end of the term of office, several members of the Board of Directors and the Assembly of Delegates were bid farewell.

The SRG Assembly of Delegates elected Viktor Baumeler as the new SRG President with immediate effect and until 2017 at the latest (33 yes, 3 no).

Due to the tight deadline since Raymond Loretan's resignation in summer 2015, it has not yet been possible to propose a long-term successor for the presidency to the Delegates' Assembly. In the interests of a smooth transition, Viktor Baumeler is prepared to take on the role until a permanent successor is found, at the latest until 2017. This means that the strategic management of SRG is in experienced hands. This is particularly important in the near future, when an austerity program will have to be implemented and SRG's public service mandate will be up for debate.

Baumeler, from Lucerne, brings a wealth of expertise and experience to his role as Chairman. From 2008 to 2015, he was President of the regional company SRG Deutschschweiz. He has been a member of the SRG Board of Directors for eight years and was Vice Chairman from 2012 to 2015. Viktor Baumeler has headed the association and the SRG Board of Directors ad interim since June 2015. During these years, as a member of the Board of Directors and as Chairman of SRG Deutschschweiz, he has played a leading role in the reorganization and restructuring of the association and the company.

Lucy Küng and Regula Bührer Fecker were confirmed by the delegates for a further term of office 2016-2019 by a large majority.

Allocation of funds to the regional companies in 2016

The Assembly of Delegates also allocated around CHF 6.75 million to the regional companies for 2016. The areas reporting directly to the Board of Directors (regional companies, Central Secretariat and Internal Audit) are participating in the current SRG savings program in the same proportion as the corporate units. These funds are used to finance the association's bodies, the public councils, the ombudsman's offices and the association's civil society activities in all cantons.

Farewells at the end of the 2012-2015 term of office

The Delegates' Meeting on November 27, 2015 marked the end of the 2012-2015 term of office. The delegates bid farewell to the following members of the Board of Directors and delegates, thanking them for their great work for the association and the SRG company:

Raymond Loretan, Chairman SRG 2012-2015 Hans Lauri, Member of the Board of Directors 2008-2015 Peter Flury, Delegate SRG.D 2007-2015 Robert Gamma, Delegate SRG.D 2007-2015 Christine Hatz, Delegate SRG.D 2007-2015 Dorette Kaufmann, Delegate SRG.D 2012-2015 Arthur Oehler, Delegate SRG.D 2007-2015 Jean-Marie Cleusix, Delegate RTSR 2008-2015 Martine Flühmann, Delegate RTSR 2007-2015 Renato Soldini, Delegate CORSI 2008-2015

The delegates also bid farewell to Kurt Nüssli, Regional Secretary SRG German-speaking Switzerland, who retired after 28 years of successful work for the SRG association.
