Together with the DIY store, a direct mailing was developed that translated the usual pre-Christmas mood images directly into the world of craftsmen: with shiny Christmas baubles in the shape of typical construction tools such as pliers, hammers, drills, and chainsaws. They served as key visuals in a large-scale self-mailing in the form of a toolbox. All mailing recipients can benefit in the form of vouchers and an online competition in which complete craftsman's tree ornament sets can be won.

Glasswork for Uta: Digital presence with personal signature

The look and feel as well as the structure of the website were relaunched by glaswerk and further developed in a responsive design also for mobile devices. The particular challenge was to logically structure the different areas of competence of the group, to present them on an equal footing and to make them comprehensible for the user. Of course, there are synergies between the business areas, which prove to be real advantages for UTA's customers.
The challenge was to further develop the company's corporate design into the digital world. The image concept puts the real person, as he is, in the foreground: credible, authentic and close. Since Uta is particularly convincing when it comes to personal consulting, the image concept is an excellent fit. The quality of the consulting services is directly dependent on the know-how of the individual person and, of course, on the ability to convey this in a pointed way.
The aim is to work with the Website to strengthen the presence of Uta, to make the group more visible. The development up to the relaunch of the new website was a challenging task. In the coordination phases, the interests of all partners and locations had to be brought to a common denominator.

As the new Media & Analytics Director, Thomas Schrämli supports the agency in three core areas: Aligning all touchpoints with business goals, setting up higher-level reporting systems, and analyzing campaign performance in real time. The agency thus consistently aligns itself with the needs of its clients. In order for companies in the digital age to effectively align their marketing priorities with their goals, create relevant customer experiences and maximize the return on investment of campaigns, strategy, creation and analysis must cooperate from the very beginning. Accordingly, Notch Interactive will build on clients' existing collaborations with media agencies and dovetail strategy and creative even more closely.
With Thomas Schrämli, Notch Interactive has gained an experienced expert for this. As a former media planner, consulting group manager and head of communications, he has expertise in the areas of campaign strategy, set-up and monitoring. Over the past five years, he has been responsible for the successful development of Goldbach Interactive's Zurich agency location as a member of the executive board and deputy managing director. He is category jury president at the Best of Swiss Web, a specialist lecturer at various schools and an examination expert for the federal communication planners.
"Notch Interactive is committed to impact. With our new media and analytics services, we help our clients plan and optimize data-driven campaigns in real time. And with truly relevant KPIs for their brand. In other words: reach in the target group or visitor to buyer ratio instead of simply clicks or impressions", explains Peter van der Touw - CEO and founding member of Notch Interactive.
Last but not least: One more to go...
During a tour, people from the First World are unexpectedly confronted with the living conditions in the Third World. Haven't we been through this before?

The principle is simple: Unsuspecting citizens are suddenly confronted with the misery of others in an ordinary, everyday setting, thereby being jolted out of their comfort zone. In December 2014, the Zurich-based agency Streuplan caused quite a stir with a housing tour that unexpectedly showcased the dire living conditions of children in the Third World (Werbewoche.ch reported). The idea apparently gave not only viewers but also other agencies pause for thought. For example, in October 2015, the New York agency Bravo/Y&R copied the idea exactly drew inspiration from the idea and relaunched the campaign under the name «Pop-Up Slum» (Werbewoche.ch reported).
Now JWT London has also come up with a surprisingly similar idea. A house tour becomes a bathroom shopping trip; a shabby dwelling becomes a shabby bathroom. The toilet paper manufacturer Andrex—which, like Hakle, is part of Kimberly-Clark and uses Labrador puppies in its ads—is partnering with UNICEF to draw attention to the fact that one in six people in the world does not have access to a toilet. And that’s the beauty of all this «inspiration»: Since the original idea is inevitably tied to a worthy campaign cause, so are the copies. And the copies of the copies. That’s what’s gradually making the world a little better. (hae)

According to the press release, the revised Teletext has a more orderly and user-friendly structure. The sections have been adapted and reorganized, and some content has more pages. Nevertheless, Teletext remains true to its motto "The most important things in a nutshell". Top news from all areas can now be found from page 100, while the sports section has 100 pages more space for results and, as before, starts from page 180. The weather report can now be viewed from page 500, the TV program together with subtitles from page 700 and the traffic section from page 800. For easier orientation, each section is assigned a color. As there are no longer any subpages, content can be accessed directly and therefore more quickly. With the changeover, some non-journalistic teletext content will be discontinued. An overview of the new page numbers can be found on Teletext page 598 and from December 2nd on Teletext page 101.

A new digital agency is being established at Waisenhausplatz 22, right in the center of Bern's old town. The company is led by Iwan Negro (Creative Director and Partner) and David Lüscher (Managing Director and Partner).
Negro has been part of Hinderling Volkart since its founding year and has played a key role in shaping the agency. Since 2015, the 35-year-old from Fribourg has been back in Bern, where he will now lead the new digital agency Hinderling Volkart Bern together with David Lüscher. Lüscher was previously a partner and consultant at the Bern-based agency Maison Standard. Before returning to Bern, he worked as a consultant at Jung von Matt in Zurich for four years. Lüscher also heads the Interactive Media Designer course at the School of Design in Bern and Biel. The team is completed by Patrick Lauterburg (design and frontend).
Hinderling Volkart was founded in 2007 by Michael Hinderling and Michael Volkart in Zurich and has enjoyed constant growth since then. Today, the agency has 32 employees and leads the ranking of Swiss digital agencies.
The agency in Bern starts with a small, interdisciplinary team. As in Zurich, the agency wants to focus on organic growth and continuously build up a team of specialists and young talents. In Bern, too, the core principles of continuity, quality and employee culture are to take center stage. Already in the founding phase, two exciting projects were won with Rivella and another local customer. Synergies with the Zurich site are to be actively exploited, and the teams in Zurich and Berne will be in close contact with each other. According to the press release, the location in Bern should not only create more proximity to existing Bernese customers, but also represent an exciting opportunity for new customers and talented employees from the Bern catchment area.

As part of the gradual expansion of its digital communication channels, Switzerland's largest football club, FC Basel 1893, is now presenting its new smartphone app for the iOS and Android platforms, following the successful relaunch of its website. "The ongoing digitalization process does not stop at sports, so we are convinced that a club like FC Basel 1893 needs a great app that is up to date with the latest technology and meets the upscale, red-blue demands," says Remo Meister, Head of Corporate Communications at FC Basel. After all, he says, the main goal is to offer fans opportunities to be up close and personal with their club. "We have now come a step closer to this goal in collaboration with our digital agency Yooappplications," Meister continues.
In addition to high scaling and performance to ensure smooth operation between the frontend and backend of the app, a lot of emphasis was placed on user experience to ensure the app feels like a digital experience - a principle the agency is committed to. "Software development is not only daily business for us, but also connected with a lot of passion and accordingly our products and services should feel like that. It is therefore a great pleasure for us to have laid the foundation for a digital future with such an exciting, as well as demanding customer with this release", says Laurin Stoll, CEO Yooapplications.

Observe glaciers worldwide with new app

Over 3,700 glaciers are scientifically described and illustrated in the new app. The app from the World Glacier Monitoring Service, based at the University of Zurich, makes collected data from glaciers observed worldwide publicly available. It shows how many glaciers are still advancing or how well developed glacier monitoring is in your own country. The "WGMS Glacier App" is based on a comprehensive research database and is intended to provide decision-makers at national and intergovernmental level with well-founded facts and figures. Glaciologists from the University of Zurich are launching the new app together with Unesco at the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris. "We want to raise delegations' awareness of the fact that climate change is already happening today," says Michael Zemp, Director of the World Glacier Monitoring Service and glaciologist at the University of Zurich.

Increasing the visibility of glacier researchers
The "wgms Glacier App" shows all glaciers observed worldwide on a satellite map. The glaciers are illustrated and comprehensively described - for example with information on area and altitude. Users can filter all glaciers by name, country, region and measurement type. They can also find out whether a glacier has gained or lost ice in the last decade. A compass points from the user's current position to the nearest documented glaciers. With the "Glacier Top Trumps" game, you can compare the best-monitored glaciers in the world and compete with the computer. In addition, graphics with observation data illustrate the development of the glaciers. The scientists are also mentioned by name and the measurement types are described in detail. "We want to increase the visibility of hundreds of glacier observers around the world. Because they document the effects of climate change on glaciers," says Nico Mölg, scientific project manager of the World Glacier Monitoring Service.

Available in four languages
The "WGMS Glacier App" is available in German, English, Spanish and Russian for Apple and Android devices. It was developed jointly by the World Glacier Monitoring Service and Ubique, the company responsible for the technical implementation. "The wealth of glacier data is presented in the best possible way for each target group thanks to the different access points using a map, text search, compass and glacier game. We have used the means of modern smartphones to achieve a very good user-friendliness in the presentation of scientific data," says Mathias Wellig, Managing Director of Ubique.

The House and Victorinox Travel Gear on a joint journey
The House Agency created a product film concept and pilot in nine languages for Victorinox Travel Gear.

Since the beginning of 2015, The House has been supporting Victorinox Travel Gear in various marketing tasks during the digital transformation. Among other things, this has resulted in the requirement for a basic concept for audiovisual product information films, which are used in particular before and during the launch of new collections (POS, trade fairs, web/social media, internal communication, training, etc.).
Since the films are used worldwide, they must also function without voice-over and impressively present the benefits within 60" and 30". The basic concept also took into account the two other requirements: Establishing production standards for high synergy and recognition. Space for individual staging - depending on the positioning of the respective collection.
The result can now be seen in the first pilot film for the "Lexington 15" laptop bag. From the basic concept, a film style has emerged that is composed of 3D composing, CGI elements, motion graphics as well as music/sound effects. On this (data) basis, the expansion and interactive networking with other presences is efficiently possible at any time.
