Singapore Airlines advertises with the A380 - even without take-off permission

Singapore Airlines is heavily promoting its inaugural A380 flight from Zurich to Singapore at the end of March. The first ad appeared in *Blick* on Tuesday. However, Zurich Airport is not yet certified for A380 flights.

The Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) has not yet issued the permit, Anton Kohler, media spokesman for the FOCA, told the SDA news agency on Tuesday. "Singapore Airlines is doing the advertising at its own risk," he added. The advertising is being carried out "for commercial reasons", said Christina Hollenweger, media spokeswoman for Singapore Airlines, when asked. "After all, we don't want to fly with an empty plane." In addition to the newspaper advertisements, a large poster campaign will be launched soon. TBWA is responsible for this, the agency confirmed to Werbewoche.
Singapore Airlines had already received a provisional permit in mid-January. At that time, an A380 factory aircraft was flown to Zurich and underwent various tests. According to Zurich Airport, these were completed successfully. By Tuesday, Singapore Airlines had sold almost all the seats for the maiden flight.

Renzen Communications has developed an umbrella campaign for the insurance company Helvetia. To mark the Olympic Games in Vancouver, the Aarau-based agency created two animated short films. The two short sponsorship spots feature Helvetia’s «Klötzli» in ski jumping and cross-country skiing action.

The aim of the campaign is to dramatize the simplicity of the insurance and pension solutions and at the same time to position them as independent and distinctive. Helvetia's long-standing sponsorship commitment, particularly with the Swiss Ski Association Swiss-Ski, also plays a major role in the communication. The Helvetia blocks in the logo colors also play a role in print implementations on posters, advertisements and brochures.

Sprite: First global advertising campaign launched

Beverage manufacturer Coca-Cola has launched the first globally standardized advertising campaign for its Sprite brand. The previous claim "Obey your Thirst" has been replaced by "The Spark".

A whole four years have passed since the beverage giant last advertised the Sprite brand on a large scale. The fizzy drink emerged in the 80s and 90s. In the past two years, however, sales in the USA have declined. The company was mainly occupied with the introduction of Coke Zero. The new campaign, which will be shown in the USA, Europe, Africa and Asia, will include eight cinema and TV commercials, as the trade magazine Adage.com writes. These will be supplemented by various mobile and digital measures. The advertising campaign will take place in two waves: First, the focus will be on music. The main actor in the "Unleashed" commercial is hip-hop star Drake. A second wave, which will start in April, will then focus on the topic of film.
